Spacious room and bathroom, with a small private terrace. Great location near the cable car, beach and parking area. Staff was very friendly and helpful.

Our bathroom had a horrible smell and we needed to keep the bathroom door shut and fan running when inside. One of the floor drains was blocked and filled - I can imagine the smell coming from there. The rubber strips in the shower were black from dirt or mold.

The location is perfect if you want to stay close to the beaches and the cable car bottom/starting point. All the top luxury hotels are in the vicinity and you can access their private beach with done charges. Other than that, it's a decent hotel, not the most comfortable or luxurious option but just enough for a decent stay. We found our room to be too small but it could be that the pricier rooms were big enough. The staff is extremely helpful and polite.

Room Size & Breakfast

Very pleasant hotel in Mazzaro (not in Taormina) very close to the cable car to Taormina (which costs 10 Euros return per person, so not a cheap daily journey). The hotel building is beautiful, very clean and very well maintained. Rooms are very basic but very clean and they get cleaned every day. We unfortunately didn't get a room with a view to the ocean as none of those rooms with a view was available so with got one of the room of the back with a little terrace, view to a wall. I would imagine that the rooms with a view have an amazing view. We didn't include breakfast as we don't like to rush breakfast in the mornings so I can't comment on the breakfast but I believe that finishes around 10am. The lady in the reception is very nice and friendly :) Very lovely couple of beaches can be reached going downstairs by a LONG stone staircase so not great for mobility issues people. Not many bars or restaurants in Mazzaro, just a few and not brilliant ones and other couple or so in the beach. All the best vibes, shops, restaurants, cafes and bars are up in Taormina.

The return the electricity key every time you leave the room so you can't leave anything charging in the room, such mobile phones etc, and anything that needs charging unless you are in the room :( The shower in our room was also very small. The view from the terrace in the back rooms, is not really a view to a garden.

From the moment we arrived we were greeted by the very friendly receptionist and hotel staff we felt very welcome. The room we paid for was standard however we were lucky enough to have our own little balcony with a small sea view which was lovely to have this view. The room was cleaned every day any problem we had was resolved the same day, the staff were amazing and really made the stay at this hotel truly amazing. The location is perfect right in front of Mazzarò beach, 4 minute walk to Isola Bella and some cafes where you can buy sandwiches for the beach if you’re not looking to spend too much during the day and want a snack. The hotel was 2 minute walk to the car park and cableway which takes you to Taormina shops and restaurants. We were really lucky with this perfect stay.

I would book the best room with a balcony the views are stunning . The staff where very pleasant. Stay clear of Lido Il Delfina cafeteria if possible . All staff that I came across were rude and just could not be bothered , clearly just wanted your money like Piranhas/ Vultures. Shame that they have the monopoly. Score 0 out of 10. They change the price of the sun beds each day you have to be fit as a lot of steps down to the beach very hilly. Toilets were stinking not cleaned on a regular basis. Tap in ladies and gentlemen toilet not working everyone had to use one tap and sink to wash their hands. Can’t even get basic hygiene standards correct heaven knows what their food hygiene is like! Stay away .

Lido il Delfino

I love the view from the balcony it was so beautiful! I liked one of the receptionist and all the breakfast waitresses. Also the food and the coffee were great.

The access to the Hotel was difficult with the cable car, etc..Also one of the receptionist was not speaking any word of English and one night we had some difficulties to get a taxi, we called the Hotel Mazzaro to get help but we could not understand each other, i think nowadays a person at the reception should have acquired a minimum of English vocabulary in a tourist area like Taormina. The location of this hotel was very good. You can choose between 2 different beaches. Both are next to the hotel. And the Bus Station to the Taormina city too. The Personal was so kind. I hurt my feet (at the rock in the sea) so they try to help me and the Manager treated my wound. Also when the nice reception Lady found out that the umbrella at the beach are to expensive she lent us one for free. The Personal cleaned Our room and gave us new towels daily. Good coffee!

We didnt like the breakfast. There Was no vegetable, fruits, warm/fresh bread, only cold boiled eggs and no big choice. The room had not a lot of walking space.

There is a terrace at the top floor, but the access door is locked. I stayed in one apartament with a terrace, but you have to pay almost double for a terrace room. I would suggest to open that terrace to all, as it can be easily accessed from the hallway, as some would like just to take a photo or enjoy a coffee there. I paid for the room with a terrace, but I think I have stayed maximum 10 minutes as I wanted to visit the city as much as possible, as I was there only for one night, so if people are not planning to stay too much in the room, they should be able to go to the terrace located on the 4th floor.

The hotel is close to the beach and Isola Bella. Also it's just a 5 min walk to the cable car station. There's a mini market up the street which has delicious sandwiches and arancini. The staff is really nice. Great view on the sea from our room. There's a big parking lot just around the corner (at the cable car station) where you can park your (rental) car (you have to pay for the parking). During the afternoon ot might be difficult to find a free parking lot.

The told us breakfast starts at 7.30 am but it wasn't ready when we came down by this time. I know this is the "italian style" but as they often host guests going on an etna-tour they should know we have to be at the meeting point at a certain time.

Hotel Jonic Mazzaro is located on the beach and just 50 meters from the entrance to Isola Bella. If you’re visiting Taormina and intend to spend most of your time on the beach then Jonic Hotel is the place for you to stay. I had a room with a balcony and enjoyed waking up to sights and sounds of the sea. The room is furnished in a bit outdated stile but the balcony view compensated for that. The hotel is also very close to a lift to the centre of Taormina (about 50 m) away and is the most convenient way to get to the centre. The breakfast is continental breakfast and common to most Italian hotels. The staff of the hotel is amazing and you feel like you’re staying in someone’s home. The cleaning was implacable and the towels are great. They even provide two clean towels for a bidet use every day. I recommend this hotel and if I return to Taormina I would stay here again.
