Garni Schenk was an excellent place to stay overall and very good value for the money. Staff was very friendly, the place was perfectly clean (we never saw another hotel that was so clean and spotless) and the smell was lovely, like fresh pastries! Our room was spacious and had a lovely balcony with the view to the village and mountains. No air conditioning, but it was not a problem since the nights in the dolomites are quite cold. Breakfast was very good and prepares you for the long day of hiking.

Parking space was a little tight, but you could always find room, good for a small car.

Really nice little hotel! The staff were extremely friendly and welcoming, always greeted us with a smile and helped us with all our questions. The highlight for me staying there was the breakfast- delicious home made cakes, coffee and egg specials made on demand! The rooms were big and spacious, very clean and comfortable!

Hard to find anything we didn’t like - our room had a beautiful view but facing north so it was a little chilly to sit on your balcony.

The owner and staff are very hospitable! We got completely soaked on a rainy day hike, the lady at the reception was so kind to bring us into the dry room even with our soaking and muddy boots staining the hallway. The next day, we found that someone had stuffed newspaper into our boots to help them dry. It was such a warm touch. Not to mention, breakfast spread was amazing!

Nothing to dislike really. Maybe it’ll be good to have a kettle the make a hot cup of tea ?

Amazing accommodation! The bed was big and confortable, the room was very large with a big balcony, big bathroom and plenty of storage room. Everything was very clean, quiet. The towels were changed every two days which was more than enough and the room was cleaned every day. The breakfast was delicious, plenty of choices and very fresh. It was only 5 minutes away from the main cable car station and about 12-15 minutes from the center of town but the walk was always pleasant. If we come back to Selva we would definitely stay again at Garni Schenk!

Very nice hotel and the staff was helpful. The staff speaked mostly italian and german but we managed very well. Room was spacious and warm, very clean. We wouldn't have even needed the clening every day but they still did it. Beds were comfy, thick blankets and pillows. Some noise from the neighbours but not too much. Breakfast was amazing. A lot to choose from, fresh veggies and fruit, bread, yogurt, juice and pastries. Meat too but we are vegetarians.

We would have liked the option not to have room cleaning and opening of the balcony door. Parking spaces for less than 10 cars but during summer no problem.

Everything you need, Clean, Easy to check in, host was absolutely brilliant! Good communication before and very helpful and friendly advice when we arrived, property had all the facilities one would need, comfortable, decent wifi, everything about it was fantastic, great Location, Breakfast was great, again everything you need!

I loved the staff, very attentive and helpful. The room was very clean and spacious. Delicious breakfast with plenty of choices. The furniture is a bit outdated but it's still nice.

I did't like the fact that there were some small holes and also sewn ones on the bed sheets. The parking lot seemed small but we were lucky that we didn't travel during the busy season and wasn't an inconvenience for us but it might be hard finding free parking if you travel by car during the busy season. All in all these weren't crazy big issues and we enjoyed our stay.

The location is very handy for a lot of hikes in the region. the staff is friendly and the breakfast is very very good, specially considering it’s a 3 start hotel.

the room was a bit cold and for environmental reasons they don’t turn on the heating in mid September which is understandable.

The location of the hotel is great, especially for the skiers since the ski lift is a few 10 metres away, with enough parking in front of the hotel and in the cellar of the hotel which was really helpful since quite a lot of snow fell during the night and the car stayed nicely clean and warm. The hotel itself has all the modern advantages (lift) combined with an old chalet charm. The breakfast room is wonderfully renovated and the breakfast itself was fantastic. The staff is extremely welcoming and helpful. I only wish we could have stayed a bit longer.

Unfortunately, we arrived the weekend when the region was under red zone alert due to covid with a lockdown at 8 PM and the restaurants were not opened for in-house dining, not even the hotel restaurant was allowed to be opened for the guests but in the hotel, they were prepared and gave us the list of local restaurants that offered takeaway, so we had a great night in enjoying the food and the snowy view through the window. The staff of the hotel did their best to ease this situation and we surely will return in the future to enjoy the hotel and Val Gardena to the fullest.

Highly recommended, super clean hotel, breakfast is amazing and the location is more than beautiful.Very friendly and helpful staff, they speak german, italian and english as well.We will come back in winter.
