The location was excellent, very close to the main tourist attractions and just 10 minutes from the Piazza San Marco. The breakfast was very tasty, and there was quite a variety of food.

The room was quite small for two people, but we managed. Same thing with the shower. At check-in, we weren’t told that our credit card had been put as a guarantee for the booking, and it wasn’t actually a payment method. It was 6 A.M. when we were leaving, and given that there isn’t a 24hour reception we couldn’t do a proper check out. Consequently, we had to call multiple times to effectuate the payment because nobody was picking up.

Better than expected for the price, I thought it might be more hostel than hotel but it wasn't (not sure the listing does it justice). Clientele were mostly older, nice breakfast area with lovely outdoor courtyard. Staff were very welcoming. Location is excellent, five minute walk from the Academia Bridge which gives you access to the many cheaper eating and drinking areas either side of the Grand Canal, and relatively close to the more expensive area of St Mark's Square (15 minute walk). Room was simple and clean, decent shower, good wifi, TV and comfortable single bed. Will probably stay there again on my next visit to Venice. Book and pay well in advance to get a decent price.

Nothing really, breakfast was a bit simple but adequate.

The Hotel is located close to the St. Mark's square (10 minutes by walk), also there is a vaporetto station really close. The receptionists were really friendly. The hotel and the room was really clean and confortable. We got breakfast as well, which had not that big selection, but it was enough for me. Recommend it! ++++

It was a little bit cold in the evening (I travelled in February), and sadly i couldnt turn on the air condition to have a bit warmer in the room.

The hotel location is a little difficult to find when you are not used to the island, but once located it is a very central point to be at. Near enough to all the main attractions but away from any noise of the city. Breakfast was always good with plenty to choose from and help yourself buffet . The room was very clean and very cool as there was air conditioning. A small fridge was very useful to keep drinks cool.

The hotel is of a very traditional Italian style, Beautiful courtyard to have breakfast. The hotel was air conditioned so very pleasant after a hot day. There was a vending machine in the lobby for hot or cold drinks and snacks. Very quiet comfortable location.

I loved the location, close to a square with good restaurants. We even went to a nearby concert- 5 min walk away. The hotel room is very basic but clean and quiet. Good breakfasts are included.

My only complaint is that we got poor information from some of the staff. For example, we were told not to try buying Basilica tickets online because it would be too complicated. It was not and saved time standing in a long line. When it came time to leave, we were given instructions on how to get to the airport via water taxi which ended up not being helpful. I wasted 20 euros buying tickets from a machine that were from the wrong boat….very frustrating!

The location was great. 7 mins from st marks square, 2 mins from the Academia Bridge linking you to a different part of Venice. Great bars and restaurants nearby. As a solo woman I thought I might feel a bit wary walking around in dark alleys to get back to my hotel (and this hotel IS down an alley) but it felt very safe. It was very clean, good lift, great breakfast included in my room package. I chose a single bed, and it was very comfortable.

No bar, so I couldn't sit in the beautiful courtyard with a beer in the afternoon!

centrally located. comfortable and friendly reception staff always saying hello. Cleaners make up room every day. The male breakfast staff was very friendly, there were no eggs so I asked for it. Even though he could not understand he used his phone to translate and bought out boiled eggs for us.

The female breakfast staff was rude. I had a leftover croissant on my plate so decided to wrap it up in a tissue to take with me as I don’t like to waste food and I’m sure they would have binned it as it was my leftovers. The female staff came over and started yelling at me in her language, she sounded annoyed and was pointing at the croissant. Even though I didn’t fully understand the language it was obvious that she was telling me off for taking 1 croissant, I was really embarrassed as this made everyone look at me.

The hotel was in a good location near St. Mark's Square but not in the middle of it, so there was not a lot of outside noise from the tourists. It had air conditioning which was fantastic, as places in Italy, sometimes do not. There was a nice variety of food and drinks for breakfast. The staff was friendly and very helpful when it came to finding our way around and which ferry/boat to take to get to different places. All in all, a good stay at Domus Ciliota.

I thought the room would be bigger for two people and the mattress was not as comfortable as I've had in other hotels. Also, we could see that some mosquitoes had entered the room and were killed but not cleaned after, which was not a major issue, but more of an annoyance. Also, there was no 'Do Not Disturb' placard to let the staff know if you wanted the room cleaned or not, so they would have to knock. Again, not a major issue but more of an inconvenience.

The location of the hotel is excellent. Easy access from the Water Bus(Airport and Route 1 Grand Canal) Good and close walking to the main central Venice sights but in an area away from the crow .ds and with lots of good local restaurants to choose from. A pleasant and very clean and tidy /efficient hotel but perhaps lacking a bit in character. The buffet breakfast was very good.

The Hotel has a wonderful and peaceful courtyard which offered an opportunity to relax and chill. However the table and chair seating and a vending machine did not allow visitors to take advantage of this potential. Comfortable seating and perhaps served Tea/coffee/cold drinks etc could significantly enhance the facilities in the summer months

First off, Venice is known to be more on the pricey side and indeed, as I was looking for accomodation I was struggling to find somewhere to stay that would not only be comfortable but affordable as well. This place totally met those needs for me!!! I was waiting for there to be a "catch" with such a steal with the price but nope! All good, thank God :) Staff was soooo friendly, except for one lady during breakfast time who was bringing out the food - she was very rude to everyone that encountered her (I felt so bad for an older couple who approached her nicely and then she made them feel bad with the way she responded - even I felt like crying for them!) and she gave us all very ugly and uncomfortable looks which was unfortunate because I was going to ask her for something and I pulled back to avoid an unpleasant experience. Besides her, the receptionists were all great! The last receptionist I interacted with was a young, slim, male who very kindly allowed me to store my luggage for longer than I anticipated (can't thank you enough). The breakfast was yummy and I'll admit, even though I'm not supposed to consume sugar due to medical reasons, I couldn't resist to try the chocolate + pistachio croissants and my goodness they were the best thing I have had in awhile. If you love sweets/bread, please do yourself a favor and try them!!! Very great location, then again, Venice is small so I don't think you can have a bad location! Walking distance to San Marco as well as the ferries (comes in handy when you're arriving/departing with luggage).

very minor (not a big deal) - there's a bit of a weird step upon entering the property which makes it a not so smooth entrance when carrying something (luggage/something heavy), especially since it's very narrow.
