My stay at Hotel Excellence from March 14th to 16th was nothing short of superb. The complimentary amenities truly elevated the experience. Moreover, the inclusion of a microwave added convenience, allowing for quick snacks or reheating meals. What truly sets Hotel Excellence apart is its exceptional service. This gesture provided immense convenience, allowing us to explore the city unencumbered before departing. Additionally, the open dining and waiting area provided a welcoming environment for guests to unwind and socialize. I highly recommend it to anyone seeking a memorable and comfortable stay.

Good hotel, really clean rooms and helpful staff. They let me leave my luggage on my last day while I finished exploring the city. Near train station and with a few good options for a quick dinner nearby.

Breakfast does not have many options. Do not expect to fill up before going out. Location is ok, but I later found out that the train line (where the hotel is located) is a bit different from the subway lines. Since Kyoto station is really big, it is a bit hard to find the right train to get to the hotel when you first arrive. If you have only one day on the city, the train might hinder your mobility a bit.

Good hotel with small but bright and comfortable rooms. You have everything you need for a short stay including a fridge. Location was great, because the hotel is near JR station, we had JR-passes and could easily go West and East/South for free using local trains. We also used buses a lot when we were exploring eastern part of Kyoto. The neighborhood is quiet, there are several convenience stores and 1 big supermarket OASIS Enmachi, and there is also a money exchange kiosk with good rate right across the street on the corner of the crossroads. The free breakfast was a surprise for us, although there is poor choice between bread with jam and noodles, but it's free so no complaints.

Wi-Fi signal in our room was super poor, we couldn't use it most of the time. It didn't make us many troubles, because we had a lot of traffic on our Japanese sim-card, but keep this in mind.

Clean and compact room. Towels were changed daily. Coffee and juice was available all day. Great location a close walk from the train station. Friendly staff. Luggage storage prior to check in. Most cost effective place I could find during cherry blossom season.

Could not get a second pillow for the bed, even though I asked. Very pricey to book an extra night last minute (about 50% more to book a Saturday than the Friday). Breakfast is limited with toast and spreads and ended promptly at 9am. Some challenges communicating with staff due to language barrier - this became difficult when I needed support with an emergency back home.

Absolutely great value. There definitely are aspects, that justify the very low price, but overall my expectations were definitely exceeded. The room had a decent size and the bathroom was also relatively spacious and the facilities are very new. Many of the greatest attractions of kyoto are easily reachable via train, bus or walk.

Only downside was that the noise in the mornings was a bit loud. Mostly coming from inside the hotel.

good location if you do not intend to do the typical Kyoto tourism days and dont intend to spend all night in gion. its a business hotel with no frills and extras, the bed and bath is good, the hotel, especially the rooms are very clean.

the breakfast could be better, the tables/chair are in the reception area, its not very comfy looking, the entrance area (outside) is a bit of a mess

This room was fantastic. Much better than I expected. Large enough in size and great amenities. I wish I could have stayed at this Hotel longer but my travel plans didn't allow it. Next time I'll try and stay at this hotel for more than one night.

The breakfast while very welcome was unusual. Individually wrapped slices of bread that could be toasted. It was a curious sight to see but for free it was good. Free coffee was also available. Lots of plastic waste which is common in Japan though.

Excellent location, couple of minutes away from Emmachi station which is on the JR line. This is makes it very easy if you arrive to Kyoto on the bullet train. Kyoto station, Nijo castle and Arashiyama are on this train line as well. Restaurants and convenience stores nearby. Friendly and helpful staff.

The room was small, but had a lot of natural light, and it was very clean and comfortable. Also, it's extremely closed to Emmachi train station, so convenient!

The breakfast was included, but it could have been a bit better - maybe some yogurt, some fruits, or peanut butter for the toast? I can't really complain because the price was good and the breakfast was an extra, and others seemed to enjoy it, but I would have enjoyed something more varied.

We never had a breakfast as we always leave early. Thou, juices and water are available in the reception. Room is small but is its OK. We expected that in Japan. It is absolutely clean in our room, reception, walk-ways. The staff are very helpful and took time to assist us. The location of the hotel is 2 - 3 min walk from the metro. There are a lot of restaurants and convenient store near the hotel.

I hope the room is bigger.
