The Base Sapporo was a really excellent base to explore Sapporo and surroundings. It is a studio flat with a little kitchen, a shower/utilities area and a separate toilet, incredibly well designed and well equipped. We were travelling as a family of four with two older teenagers (16 and 19) and it worked well for us. It would work very well for families with younger children too and other groups who are happy to share a room (comfy bunk beds). It was really great to have a washing machine after we had been travelling for a while, and an excellent drying room which doubled up as the shower - we'd love to have one of these at home! All the facilities were in excellent order. A lovely touch was a handwritten greeting from the owner, who we met at the front desk a couple of times too. Very good value too! Highly recommended, practical option.

As our flight from Tokyo was slightly delayed, we arrived at The Base a little later than our scheduled check in time. However, we were greeted by Toshi, the owner/manager of The Base, who stayed behind to ensure that our check in process went smoothly. He provided heaps of very useful information, ranging from places to eat to the easiest way to walk from The Base to JR Sapporo station. We especially loved the peace and quiet of The Base and not to mention the close walking distance to the streetcar station. Everything in our chosen room was as expected and we would happily stay at The Base on our next trip back to Sapporo next January!

Nothing, it was perfect!

The owner was very nice, accommodating & service with a smile. His resto suggestions were not tourist trapa but authentic . He even made reservations for our seafood meal. LOCATION is not a crowded area yet close to everything by walking . GREAT place for groups and families . Towel changed every day. Comfortable beds.

I really liked the place. We stayed for 6 nights and were aware there will be no cleaning by hotel.staff. Just wished there was atleast cleaning every third day. But overall , we will still come back

Clean, friendly staff with good amenities provided especially if you plan to cook simple dishes. Also a few meters away there’s this famous ramen shop that always has a long queue even before it opens for business. Tasted the ramen there after 1 hour long of queue and it tasted good 😁

Walking from the property to the Susukino subway station is a quite a distance in my opinion (unless I was taking the longer route and not aware if there’s a shorter one) especially when you need to drag the luggage on snowing surface.

We were a group of friends travelling to hokkaido for leisure, we got the 4 bedroom apartment. The owner, Toshi-San, is very helpful and friendly and can speak basic English, he introduced is to the surrounding area around The Base Sapporo. It includes: - 2 double decker beds but the bottom bed is not connected to the top so neither will bother the other when getting out of bed as much which is awesome, and there's an electrical extension for the guy on the upper bunk which is really convenient. - it had a refrigerator, microwave, dining utensils, washing machine and the shower room doubles as a hang dryer which is awesome. - it had a TV that had YouTube functionality but the TV would die periodically if the resolution is too high on YouTube but having YouTube is good enough, gotta catch those hololive streams. - The hotel and room access was using a pin, which means that any member of the group can come and go as they please without needing a key. - There was no shortage of good food everywhere near the base as well, and of you're lazy to queue or its a bit late, there's a lawsons directly opposite and down the street. Awesome - Tanuki Street is also a short walk away which means there no shortage of more food and some shopping. - Cozy place for a group of friends or a family on a holiday

- The pillows were a bit flat but if you don't mind it should be fine. -

The owner is a very nice and helpful gentleman. He gave us a lot help and suggestions. He even printed out the information for skiing. Such a nice person. He is very considerate and attentive. The room facility is also great! I can not help putting 10 for the review. Maybe this is the big difference between with self catered checking in apartment and with a host one. Thanks booking for connecting such good host to us. A good two nights stay there. There are washing machine there. We washed clotheses. Cooking utensils. We cooked porridge 😊. Big size table. Great for breakfast.

Nothing. The only pity is that I booked a bit late and could only stay two nights.

Toshi was great! He helped us with the check in and gave some great recommendations for nearby restaurants. I also like how spacious it was and not too many other people. It was quiet and nice.

Mostly the transportation was a bit far; we had to walk more than 15 minutes from the bus station to the hotel. Normally 15 minutes of walk isn’t bad but with the luggage it seemed a bit far.

Good for family stay. Property is a studio apartment and it has everything that you need. The location is good, near to eateries. Owner Toshihiro is friendly and makes an effort to wait for us as we reach the hotel late in the evening and he even recommends good eating places for us.

The property doesn’t have any parking amenities within the premises. As we drive, it took us a while to find parking lot.

Owner, Mr Toshiba was very nice and helpful. Room was well equipped and spacious (by Japan standards). Netflix was a bonus (especially for us who don’t watch or understand Japanese tv programs).

One minor negative - Location was a bit off the main areas and access by foot may be not so safe in slippery winter condition (no covered access to the train stations or covered / underground walkways).

Is a very family friendly property. With a small kitchen which allow us to prepare our light breakfast and supper. The best thing is there is a washing machine! For those who travel with kids this can lighten ur luggage 😊 There are few convenient store just stone throw. One of the famous ramen restaurant just 1min walk.

It is no located at the central of commercial street but just 15min walk.
