Room is clean and well-maintained. The staff cleaned the room every day even when we did not request for it. All needed amenities were provided (body soap, shampoo, conditioner, tissue, toothbrush, toothpaste, hairdryer and TV). There are also a lot of electric sockets. A common kitchen is available for use in the first floor and we can get hot water for free. Location is very much accessible from Ikebukuro station, C1 and C2 exits. It is also close to many famous restaurants and tourist spots. Ikebukuro station is also connected to various Tokyo train lines which made our commutes more efficient.

Walls are thin. We can sometimes hear noises from the other room and from outside because we are in the first floor. The washroom is a bit small and the ceiling is low so one of our trip companions had to scooch down or just sit in the tub so he can use the shower.

The room was bigger than expected for one person. Many amenities (towel, hangers, toothbrush set) were provided. There's a common kitchen with all utensils and cutleries convenient for cooking. I had a pleasant stay for 8 days! Would like to highlight that the hostel is near "Fukutoshin line" Ikebukuro station. It's a little distance from "JR line" Ikebukuro station but its connected underground. Just follow the sign towards "Fukutoshin line", exit through C1 and the hostel is a few minutes away. If you have luggage, exit through C6 with an escalator. Hope this helps!

Can be a little noisy when guests and staff roam around or talk loudly.

Quiet, spacious room with space for 3 large suitcases. Good bathroom facilities to people ratio! Homey feel with communal kitchen

No fridge in room - would prefer fridge to TV screen. No need for TV. Wish there were signs not to leave toiletries in bathroom area (many guests did this and it cluttered the sinks). Perhaps include a basket for people to store toiletries in so the counters remain clear. An ice machine would be nice in summer :)

Super close to train station and lots of bars and restaurants. Very easy to get around Tokyo from your base here. Clean and well appointed, communal kitchen and dining area very helpful, we’re able to leave our bags here before check in and after check out. Rooms were nice and big for two of us and all our luggage, aircon was clean and worked really well on super hot and humid days, fridges and communal spaces clean and nice. Please note there are no elevators and the stairs are very narrow and steep, so maybe save your shopping until after you get to Tokyo and don’t forget to duck!

This place was amazing. An especially unique experience of living, having stayed in a studio space that was used as the dining room and bedroom. The place was small, but the design did really well in making it feel generous in space. Super clean amenities and a fresh modern take on Japanese living. The host was very quick to respond and was happy to help us if needed.

Due to there being two of us, we spread the two mats out for more sleeping width on the floor. We made do with the provided mats (probably better stacked on each other for one person as one was slightly firmer for the base and one more cushioning for the top), although nothing really to complain about and sleeping was still manageable, it is something to consider if you aren't one for sleeping so close to the floor with little cushion.

Great location with a short walk to the nearest stairway entrance leading to Ikebukuro Station, still about a 10 minute walk from there but you don't have to worry about rain. Plenty to do around the location, all within walking distance from the stay. The Annex Room was spacious enough to fit 4 guests, with a large closet able to fit several large baggages and coats. Cleaners changed our towels and emptied our trash bins daily while we were out which was a surprise but a welcome one. There's public washing machines/dryers just outside the stay. The receptionist could speak great English and was very friendly, we arrived in Tokyo early and they allowed us to leave our baggages securely in the lounge as we explored the city before check in. Overall great place to stay for long vacations.

We had the Japanese style annex for three people. The room was very spacious and clean. We had a kitchen with a fridge, microwave and kettle. The bathroom included a bathtub and shower. The staff would come in daily to make up the room and provide clean towels (you can opt out on days you don't want it done). They also held our luggage after we checked out because we had a late flight. Staff was super kind and lovely.

Only one minor down side was that the kitchen only had cups, no other cooking items, plates, or utensils.

The beds and room are cleaned everyday. We had a corner room so there was plenty of sunlight. The place is enough to sleep after a busy day exploring the city. The staff are friendly and helpful with any questions, the check-in and checkout is super flawless. The neighborhood is quiet and clean, 5mins walking to a major train station (Ikebukuro station) drugstores, japanese fast food, convenience stores, and electronics store are available at walking distance. I will 100% stay here again.

My first time solo traveling and in Japan. This location was great and as an Otome lover, Ikebukuro was the place to be with this location. I honestly thought I had my own private bathroom and was shocked to see I had to share it but it was kept SO clean and great. I felt at ease. My bathroom times also never meshed with the other guests so that was pretty good.

It has nothing to do with the hosts and staff, but the rooms weren't too sound proof that I heard people walking down the hallways and stuff (I am a light sleeper) and some of the guests had a kid screaming or running in the morning. But I fortunately brought my earbuds.

I stayed in the second of the two buildings that comprise this property. Proprietress Mrs. Chen was very kind in letting me check in earlier than 3pm, and providing a cart so that I could more easily move my very heavy bags. The rooms are clean and the common spaces are well appointed, including a luggage elevator (so that heavy bags don't need to be dragged up stairs) and a water machine. I felt safe as a solo female traveler with the keypad front entry.

There was some mold on the walls in the shower on the second floor. The space could've had better ventilation.
