This booking was our 2nd times at the hotel, the 1st time was in 2014. We like the location of the hotel, walking distance from the Ikebukuro Station and hidden in the back street which is rather quiet from the Main Street and the night life district. There are shops and combini around. And the staffs are very good in English communication.

The room is a bit small. One day we found that one of our room was not properly closed the door. As the door frame was too tight and you have to pull it for closing. As normal the door would swing to close automatically so I think the cleaning staff thought that it would be closed and didn’t check. No items was missing in this case. The other thing was our stuffed toy we won from the game shop was missing. We think the cleaning staff mistakenly took it together with the bedsheets and didn’t check. The hotel staffs were helpful and retrieved it back for us.

It was a 10min walk (depending on how fast or slow your stride is) from Ikebukuro Station. The staff is so kind. I lost my passport and they called the train station to alert them in case they find it to call the hotel. They even directed me to the nearest police station and assured me that they are ready to help me if I need it.

The room is small, but it is expected of Japan accommodations. The wifi is not very fast as well.

The location is great if you like the night life or are using a JR pass being so close to Ikebukuro train station on the Yamanote Line. The staff a friendly and the cafe/bar attached is convenient for cheap breakfast or a drink before heading out. It's super affordable. Has washing machines and dryers available

I've stayed here twice over the years and unfortunately it's getting a bit worn and things are kinda falling apart we were on LVL 7 of the hostel side and the taps in the shower were barely attached anymore, the bunk beds had curtains but two were broken and unusable and we had no cooling for two days because someone swapped the remote with the one for the common room

Location is great, we're always staying at Sakura Hotel Ikebukuro (: pretty central, close to restaurants/konbinis/shops and most importantly public transportation! I stayed at A-307 and liked it a lot. The three of us had rooms next to each other and there was a seating area in front of our hotelroomdoors where we would meet up in the morning before heading out. All in all I really enjoyed this stay a lot (: Clean bedsheets and towels, generally clean at first glance.

The room could use a little more cleaning though.. I saw a lot of random stuff underneath the bed coincidentally when I dropped something and it rolled down. Maybe vacuum clean it also once in a while, the floor was kinda dusty, but, not to complain, the room served its purpose for showering, resting/sleeping and since I'm not sitting or laying down on the floor and have slippers on, it's fine.. I only spent as much time as neccessary in there anyway. Also, the rooms were not totally noise proof. Heard noises from outside the windows, in the hallway and sometimes strange noises probably from the drainage or something. I was too tired and still slept through after waking up a couple of times. Mattresses were a little hard.. good for the back I guess XD

Location. I've stayed here before 3 times and the location is very good. It'a nearby exit C6 (walk towards Fukutoshin line inside Ikebukuro Station and you'll see it. The staff were very nice. Binderya was lovely and very helpful.

The pillows were rock hard and the rooms seem very un-touched. The first room had a hole in the wall and the aircon started leaking water. The second room I was moved to was a little dirty and the carpet looked about 20 years old!

The room was small, but I barely used it. Ultimately, it was more than enough for me. It was a place to store luggage and sleep, since I spent the day going around Ikebukuro, Shinjuku, and Shibuya. It's within a few minutes of Ikebukuro station as well for transit, which helped me get to Shinjuku and Shibuya quickly and easily. Room was kept clean and staff was very friendly and helpful.

The location, room, staff all was great! Ikebukuro is well connected to everything and has a lot to offer itself with hundreds of bars and restaurants. At the same time it's still not in the acknowledged hot spot zone and offers affordable prices. Central but really quiet.

The breakfast wasn't good, tbh. Plain toast, butter, jam, soup (vegetarian option). Coffee and tea. At least an apple or banana would have been appreciated. But not a reason not to go ;) Another minus was the lacking social atmosphere for solo travellers, especially. There is just no space to connect and the hotel doesn't offer any social events, at least they weren't offered to me. Overall, would go there again.

The staff was very helpful. I had an issue with one of the online stores I shopped from, which had trouble mailing my package to the hotel. The hotel staff offered to speak to them on the phone on my behalf to sort it out (but I ultimately managed to fix this with an email, so I didn't take up the offer). The staff were also very kind to answer my questions about Japanese culture. It's hard travelling alone in a country whose language you don't speak well, so it felt really nice to be able to speak to someone in English and be able to learn more about the local customs and culture.

The place was easy to find, and even before arriving the I had asked if I can ship some items bought online there and was happy to hear that it is possible! The reception was really kind, mindful, and spoke perfect English. The rooms were clean and cozy, and you can store your luggage underneath the bunk beds. The breakfast was compact but filling and the atmosphere was really cozy and lovely. The time which breakfast was served was not too early even for me who likes to sleep bit longer in the morning.

Some small hooks were about to unravel in my bedside curtain and the some of the spaces like the shared bathrooms are pretty cold.
