The hotel is well served by 2 nearby rail lines, particularly the Yamanote Line for Shinjuku. The room was servicable but a little cramped, staff were attentive and location is safe and has lots of interesting shops nearby, including the Takaya supermarket for excellent Bento boxes.

Having stayed at the Super Hotel in Kushiro, where breakfast was impressive,we felt underwhelmed by the Ueno one. This could be due to the lack of sufficient preparation space but also a lack of imagination and variety.

Breakfasts at each different Super hotels are not the same. We stayed at two Super hotels, both have very good breakfasts. Super Hotel Ueno-Okachimachi Breakfast caters more towards international guests with more varieties of bread and cereals. Since the hotel is very convenient, we drop in and out all the time. We also use the Welcome Bar that they have just before going to dinner, a very nice complimentary for our stay.

Check-in and Check-out time is a standard in Japan at 3 PM and 10 AM. It would be a nice touch if it can be Check-In at 2 PM and Check-Out at 11AM like some hotels we stayed in. The breakfast area is a bit small compared to the number of rooms the hotel has. It could get a little crowded and you feel a bit of pressure to rush while having breakfast.

Location of the hotel is great if you’re flying to Narita as you can catch the one airport train into Ueno and go straight to accomodation without having to transfer to other trains. Ueno has lots of great food and is well serviced by the subway.

The breakfast was not particularly good for a Western diet. The elevator was slow during peak time (breakfast). The room was very cramped for opening up two suitcases.

Room was actually pretty spacious. Probably the most soundproof room I've stayed in, in all of Japan. The bed was super comfy. The work desk was great - got a lot of work done there. Wifi was also very strong, perfect for zoom meetings. The door was a code - very secure. The staff were all amazing. They gave me trial soap and lotion and other things as a giveaway for staying, which I appreciated. I also liked the soft drink bar in the afternoons with free soft drinks. The breakfast was amazing. Not a lot of western options (just bread and cereal), but the Japanese breakfast was on point for everything I liked.

Not much. Only one little thing - I think I did find a bed bug, but I'm not sure. Might have just been a random bug, as I wasn't bitten .

can’t beat the location (ekimae/next to station) at this price range, wonderful staff, and breakfast was surprisingly nice with a wide variety

bit outdated, but nothing alarming (very clean, and well kept, but just a clear product of the 80’s). but if you can get over that, excellent value

The rooms were really small and couldn't really fit 3 people. So when I booked, the rooms were actually connecting rooms to fit my requirement of 3 in my family. So bonus is we had 2 bathrooms instead of 1. The hotel had extra pillows which we had to collect from the lobby. Breakfast was included and actually taste good. Extra bonus, the hotel provides tea break and happy hour as well. Plus their amenities provided were beyond that of a 2 star hotel, such as spa bubbles to soak away tiredness after a day running outdoors. Air conditioning was good and added air purifier with ionizer made a very pleasant stay in the room. Hotel is close to major train lines and plenty of food options around.

Soundproofing isn't the best, but I have been to worse hotels in Tokyo. Bathroom is a typical self contained unit and moving around in the shower means hitting the side of the walls often. Room had no view as the window was facing another building and so had to draw the blinds when in the room.

Location is great, right beside an exit for Naka-Okachimachi station (Hibiya Line) and a quick 3-minute walk to Okachimachi station (Yamanote Line). You can pick your preferred pillow and grab room amenities at the lobby easily. The room & bathroom are small as usual for its value in Tokyo but well-maintained. TV is great, with HDMI port! They provide charging cables which was super useful. Staff were friendly and provided clear instructions. The breakfast provided was really nice, with breads, rice with sides, cereals and drinks machine. The breakfast area is small but you can also monitor the breakfast crowd through your room TV. On the overall, a really good use of space, as the Japanese are famous for. Loved it.

Nothing, all was great. There was only one lift but it didn't really affect us.

The room was larger than expected -- I wouldn't say large (it's Tokyo...) but a very comfortable size for a single person. The bed was also very comfy, and I liked that you could choose your pillow (the hotel offers a choice of about 10 options). The location was great, a short walk from Ueno and even shorter walk to Okachimachi station, but in a fairly quiet street. Finally I really liked the breakfast with simple Japanese foods (rice, miso soup, gyoza, etc.). The fridge in the room was also nice for keeping some food items. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, and all spoke some English.

The room was smelling a bit stale at the beginning, although it was fine after a bit of airing. There is no view from the window: what you see is the concrete wall of the next building 5 feet away. The bathroom is an integrated unit (basically a large plastic box placed in the room). There is a fairly high step to get in, the ceiling is low and it is quite cramped. There is a bathtub but it is so small that it is not very useful. I enjoyed the breakfast, but people looking for something in the traditional Western style may be disappointed: the pastries and coffee are just average and there isn't a lot of choice.

the location is fantastic, you are within walking distance of Ginza line and JR station for travel to any part of Tokyo easily. You are also within walking distance of Ueno Skyliner station which brings you in and out from Narita airport easily and most cost effective. The hotel is near Ueno Ameyoko (night market), so there is no lack of last-minute shopping and eating. Hotel provide extra pillow of different choices (ie soft, hard, fluffy etc), FOC and I like the morning breakfast that came free with the room.

the three-person room (with a bunk bed) is way too small for 3 people, you are better off booking a single-person room. That room is bigger and with a good-sized working table.

The price is as good as any in the area, and when you include a good buffet-style breakfast for free, it’s unbeatable. Rooms are accessed through a key pad, so you don’t have to carry around a key or key card and worry about losing them. There is a handy microwave available on each floor by the elevator. There is a top sheet on the bed as well as a comforter, so you can control the temperature better. You have the option of having your room cleaned or you can just set out your trash and they will replace towels. That way you don’t have to vacate the room between 10:00am and 3:00pm. The hotel seems to have been planned out well.

The pillow in the room was like a rock. Fortunately, you can pick up a comfortable pillow in the lobby. However, it is limited to one per person, so if you like to sleep on your side with a second pillow between your knees you’re out of luck.
