Extremely well run hotel with perfect room preparation and staff all very wonderful. Facilities especially pool with view very much welcome after days of hard work in region. An oasis and sanctuary...almost.I wish to especially highlight the attention given by the night manager and manager ofvfood and room services. I had suddenly fallen ill and they took special care visit my room and send appropriate foods to help me mend. I am foreever grateful for this gesture.

Some items were missing from the room that were added tge second day after house cleaning. Suggests room was not properly ready when I arrived. A non issue but just a comment to help management. Aldo it was a mystery how to manage the lighting of the room/bathroom...very annoying going through room clicking switches to try to turn off certain lights. Finally, while not the fault of hotel...municipal sewage drained into bay close to property and smell of raw sewage did make it to 8th floor pool. Walking around hotel at street level was particularily unpleasant on a hot day. Maybe the bigbhotel corporations can work together to solve this health problem that also puts a stain on the city more generally. If they can build new malls maybe they cxn invest in proper treatment of waste.

The facilities here are amazing! We had member club access which meant that we could have breakfast buffet, morning tea, afternoon tea and even drinks throughout the day which was a nice little bonus. Very clean and staff were very professional and extremely helpful. Breakfast buffet had a huge variety and the infinity pool was lovely.

Unfortunately, the planes in KK fly over this hotel. Therefore, that's all you hear day and night. And sound proofing could be increased as you can also hear your neighbours if they are loud - which we sadly had experienced. Room cleaning for our room wasn't finished until late afternoon and the reception had a slight fishy smell when you first walk in - which is not a big deal.

The sea view...when the sun rise or set, watching the boats sail out or coming back with their day's catches, were so thrilling and relaxing at the same time....Ahhhhhhh....it was all I can say!

There was a messed up with booked rooms as I had requested for an adjoining room for my daughter. However, since I booked the second room under her name BUT paying both rooms (I had booked 2 rooms) using my credit card, we were denied the requested arrangement. Nonetheless, a senior front desk lady helped to sort out the issues and managed to sort out the room arrangement, NOT fantastic but near enough!

room size, view and facilities were great, but really appreciated the friendly staff and high level of service from the door to breakfast just fantastic

we really enjoyed our 5 days in Kota Kinabalu and stay at the Marriott, as it was part of our wedding anniversary trip, it was only tarnished on our last night receiving a letter under the door from duty manager of a 500MYR fine for durian eating in the room, apparently evidence was discovered by housekeeping. it was actually the result of a small durian cake received as a gift from family and consumed in the room earlier in the day, we discussed with the duty manager, as were not aware of the durian restriction, but obviously understood the reason for it, and had the fine waived, which was a relief, as only a small portion of cake cream that was triple bagged was in the bin with the cake box remained.

We booked a sea view room which has a perfect view of the sea and the swimming pool. The room is well furniture d with style and a romantic vibe. All facilities are of modern design and user friendly. It is worth mentioning that the infinity pool in the hotel has a perfect seaview with sunset. You can enjoy the best sunset view at the pool without going out! We love it a lot!

Unfortunately the fridge in our room stopped working on the first day so the food and yogurt we put in went bad. But the hotel staff came to fix it right away.

As expected of hotel of this standard; nothing is out of place. Very helpful and friendly service all from the start of concierge service, to the check-in, breakfast service, hotel facilities and check-out. Amenities as you would expect of 5-star hotel, room cleanliness top notch, comfort-ness of the bed was wonderful, WiFi is good and air-conditioning is excellent. Breakfast was excellent, the spread was not that bad but I guess can be more detailed-selection (such as more cheese selection, fruits, etc) Location was also not bad as it's pretty much city centre with sea view.

Nothing major to highlight except for the guest parking. It was not clear to me personally the requirement to park at front/side of the hotel as I was told to go directly to the free parking at the 7th floor which are quite creepy/gloomy. Navigating through those narrow road upwards was a nightmare. Improvements maybe if the hotel can place security cams at the top floor parking to give that self-assurance and security of parking the car there. Another one will be the TV provided did not give access to the internet i.e Netflix or YouTube (the hotel remove the internet function on the TV); at this era, this internet TV is a-must.

shell out more for the sea view rooms , definitely worth it! the sea views are out of this world. Rooms are modern and of a good size, well thought out designs, especially the bath rooms. sliding doors allow you to have an open concept for the bathroom or full encased if you need privacy. there is more than enough storage for all your stuff and generally you could tell the hotel is new and serves a traveller’s needs.

there is not really alot of food around the area .. other than some convenience stores. but it’s a short Grab ride to Chinatown so no issue there

The hotel environment was excellent. The cleanliness was superb. I loved Marriott bed the most as it is comfortable. After a long day out, I definitely get good rest. It is a good and wise decision to stay in Marriott. There is a rooftop lounge where we can chillout on the last day of our trip. The view was fantastic .

Nothing much on what I don't like, except the towel (it have a smell on it) but it was acceptable to me as long the towel is white.

Excellent hotel, definetly will come back. A spcial thank you to the female staff "Brooklyn" that has been especially helpful, also in suppot to order transport while my connection failed. Great talent and will have a great career in hospitality. Thank you Brooklyn! I also enjoyed the breakfast in the hotel as well as went out few meters to the promenade for a evening drink and snack. Definetly will come back

Infinity pool with a great view towards Gaya island was very special. Fantastic location, food excellent and overall experience of Marriott incl the stunning rooftop bar and restaurant was one NOT to forget.

All as could be expected with service minded staffs and attentive people.
