Location, large size of room, attentive staff, quiet (mostly).

The hot water takes at least 10 minutes to reach the shower head. I don't mind the wait but it is a tremendous WASTE OF WATER. The courtyard, which the rooms surround, can be noisy, no fault of the guests/employees, just bad design. There was just one chair in the room and no writing/computer desk. The HUGE TV was great but it was difficult to navigate to watch anything. MANY of the channels were BLOCKED and required a subscription. I suggest the hotel edit those channels OFF the guide. I am not aware of pricing for similar hotels in Morelia however I have traveled to many other similar cities in Mexico and found Na Na Vida to be priced on the high side.

It is centrally located in the heart of the city but away from the noise! The staff was amazing too! They solved every single problem we ran into such as tour scheduling, dining reservations, etc. We even got a small christmas gift ornament as a present!

The other guests were quite inconsiderate. Since the rooms surround a courtyard, some older Americans would speak and laugh quite loudly at 5:00 am as they had breakfast before their tour. I suggest the hotel have quiet hours and enforce them out of consideration to other guests.

The staff was super friendly, we even got gifts and complimentary breakfast that was unexpected. We requested a massage in our room and they took care of making the arrangements with a nearby spa so that one of their massage therapists could come the next day. It was amazing ! Security guard was active and allowed us in promptly when we went out at night. I also left an important item in the room after checking out and they were so kind as to immediately call me. Thank you guys it was a pleasure !

The high rating is warranted. The hotel is centrally located. It's an old home but renovated with all the modern conveniences--comfortable beds and pillows, a large flat screen TV, large bathroom with a walk-in shower. It was all very comfortable and spacious. The staff was welcoming and helpful. They offer a tasty, filling breakfast on weekends: strong coffee, eggs, bread, fruit, Mexican sweet breads.

The only negative is a club/bar across the street that pounds out music on weekends until 2am or 3am. Despite the ear plugs and white noise machine provided by the hotel, it can be noisy. It didn't bother me but kept my wife awake.

it lacks a few things you need for a property at this price point: 1) privacy: rooms are really not that private and I’m sure anyone in the hallway could hear things going on in most of the rooms. 2) the night “bell”, I came back late and you have to ring a bell that sounds through the entire courtyard for someone to open the door. It’s loud and there has to be a better way to do it, 3) the extra charge for a hot breakfast is a little weird, it’s US$5 extra so why not just include it?

I found Nana Vida after having booked, seen and cancelled another hotel in the city center which was not at all up to standards. I was already quite uneasy upon arrival, thank's to the notoriety Morelia has gotten lately in the news, and the other hotel did not feel all that safe. I stumbled on Nana Vida while trying to figure out my next move and it was BEYOND welcoming. The Hotel smells of cleanliness the minute you walk in. The front desk people are beyond helpful, polite, and kind. They booked all my tours and gave me really good dining suggestions. I did stay in the room facing the street which, according to them, tends to be avoided by guests. Nevertheless, the window panes are noise cancelling and I did not even hear the loud trucks zoom by in the early morning traffic. Each room has air conditioning which is always lovely after a day of sightseeing, and the bathrooms are sparkling clean. This hotel really flipped my experience in Morelia from a bumpy start and made me fall in love with the Morelianos and their city. I highly recommend it for people who wish to have a 5 star stay without paying the exuberantly high prices of the other hotels around town.

beautifully restored old building with wonderful art in the rooms. quiet even though it’s in the middle of the action. free gifts when arriving and leaving, something I have never experienced in my many years of staying in hotels all over the world.

free coffee each morning would have been the icing on the cake!

We loved the staff and how they greeted us with a free shot of mezcal, hand made soap and a free huipil at check out. They always greeted us with a smile and made us feel welcome. The room was very large and very comfortable.

They are very close to a couple of nightclubs and they were very loud on Saturday night. However, they do provide earplugs and a noise machine that really helped.

The staff, the central location, the cleanliness, the art work and the comfort of the bed. Also, the quietness of the room at night despite our room having and window and a wall along a busy street. The offered breakfast for a fee was well prepared and a good value. The staff greeted us upon both arrival and checkout with thoughtful gifts.

This place is beautiful. Great use of tiles and other textiles and it had the highest ceilings of any room I've ever stayed in. It was only a few blocks to the center and stayed quiet. They also gave us a number of gifts which I've never gotten at any other hotel - some artisanal soap they made, a kind of shirt for my girlfriend and some coffee.

Not a real complaint but there's a painted man in the entry room to the main room. About three times, I was half startled because I thought I saw an actual man out of the corner of my eye. There's also a tiny step (three inches high?) walking into the entry room that I kept tripping over.
