The Riad Chergui is beautifully laid out and feels like a small oasis in the chaos and hubbub that is the medina in Marrakesh. The central courtyard and breakfast areas are cool and comfortable, the (icy cold!) pool area is lovely and the rooms are small for two but all you really need. The rooftop area is well laid out and a comfortable spot to enjoy views over the city. The breakfast is spectacularly good and the service from Abdul is second to none. He is super friendly, polite, well mannered, urbane and educated, speaking English, French, Arabic and 3 local dialects of his home country, Senegal. The rest of the staff are super helpful and friendly. My son got very sick on our trip and Adbul and his team rallied round to help him recover quickly. They are a great team. The Riad is easy to get to from the airport by taxi and a short walk away from the souk and main square in Marrakesh. When we settled up the bill, the owner allowed us to use up our remaining dirhams to part pay which was useful.

The room was a touch small for two people but other than that, we had no real complaints. Overall, this was a minor thing given all of the other features of the Riad.

Quite simply, this is a tranquil oasis tucked around the corner from the hustle and bustle of the souk. As you walk in, the noises and smells of Central Marrakech fade away and the calm and quiet of the Riad take over. The decor is charming and the central pool is a sight to behold. We were welcomed by the incredibly helpful Nordine, who could not have done more to welcome us and answer our questions. The terrace is a lovely spot to relax in the fading sun and the poolside area couldn't be more relaxing. If the extreme heat isn't your thing, there are cosy corners to relax with a nice pile of cushions. Dinner the first evening was amazing. We quickly found out that the food is unrivalled in Marrakech. Choose the 15 or 20 Euro dinner option, at least the first night and you will probably want it again. We had a long day in the desert and loved coming back to the calm of the poolside area, watching the palm trees flutter in the breeze and enjoy the fabulous hospitality of Emmanuelle and Abdu. A special mention to Abdu, who alongside Nordine, went out of his way to ensure we were welcomed with a huge smile and lovely conversation. A large part of what makes this place is the amazing tranquility of this oasis combined with the amazing kindness. I celebrated my birthday here, and chocolate cake suddenly appeared for breakfast. An incredibly thoughtful gesture - thank you! Aside from the above, the wifi was strong and reliable, rooms absolutely spotless, linen very clean, beds lovely and firm (we love firm mattresses), breakfast excellent (lovely little donuts and incredible jams alongside the usual coffee, juice, fruit and yoghurt) and the simple yet thoughtful decision to supply a large bottle of water per room per day. This Riad has got all the little things right and it adds up to being a wonderful, relaxing and memorable stay. You won't regret staying here, we certainly don't. Thank you to everyone at Riad Chergui! We will definitely be back!

Nothing!

Charming Riad very close to all the most interesting tourist sights. Owners and staff were very welcoming and excellent at communicating and responding to our requests. They set-up airport transportation for us (at an extra cost) and even accommodated two gluten-free travelers in our group. The whole Riad was lovely, and we especially enjoyed the pool, delicious breakfast, and bar, given that most restaurants do not serve alcohol.

Beautiful and tranquil - an absolute oasis just a short walk from the souks. The pool was essential in 35 degree temperatures. The breakfast was really great value and filled us all up. We had one evening meal too which was very tasty. The rooms were super, clean and comfortable - having a fragment orange tree outside your bedroom door is so different and fragrant! Lovely staff - multilingual and helpful. Perfect base for a family with teenage children.

The bathroom in our children’s twin room was a bit awkward but not a game-changer. would still book again.

A fine example of a Riad. We were taken care of very well by Aswan (the manager) and his colleagues. There were always people on hand to help. The pool was sublime, clean and mildly heated (to not have a shock on entering). The breakfast was well portioned with a variety of French and Moroccan baked goods. Eggs were cooked to order. There is an all-day available menu as well as the ability to have dinner on-site. You could also organise tours, massages and your laundry through the Riad. The staff were always eager to please and it was a wonderful experience to stay here during the end of our Moroccan adventure in Marrakech.

One of our rooms was on the ground floor, which meant less privacy and ability to open the windows, we appreciate this is unavoidable due to the layout of the Riad. Of note you will need to walk around 5-10 minutes from the closest road (but the Riad will usually organise a Porter and a staff member to come meet you - the porter then expects a tip of 20 MAD - this is usual in Morocco).

Excellent food. Nice, comfortable outdoor spaces for lounging with pool and Bar. Staff were attentive and provided great hospitality. Nice room, though basic which is what we wanted. Would love to go back.

Located, like most Riads, on a narrow side street. Hard to find and taxi dropped us off far away, so street kids were leading us and then asking for a tip bigger than our taxi ride. The owner met us and was very nice and took care of the problem.

Nice and comfortable hotel in real marocco style. Very good location. Nice staff. Perfect for both vacation and conference. Be careful with touristic companies. Near the mosque are awfull.

OK medina is a bit more for me for long time. The hotel is enough far and quite.

Beautiful Riad with lovely staff. I was staying in a room on my own (room 10) and had plenty of room and it was a nice cool temperature. Lots of thought put in to the authenticity of the room too. Breakfast far exceeded my expectations as I have stayed in places that provide a continental style breakfast before and you just get a bit of bread and some cereal. This was different every day and included pancakes, Latkes, eggs, croissants, pastries and the list goes on. All served with lovely hot coffee and in a beautiful setting (we braved the bees and sat outside for the most part).

Bed was a little hard for my liking but that is just my personal preference and I still slept well so could not have bothered me that much. One piece of feedback I would provide for my room is it could do with a full length mirror or some kind of mirror in the bedroom area as I found the mirror, (although really large) in the bathroom, a bit far away for make up application, and was not full length, but again it is just personal preference.

Great spot close to everything 10 min walk to main square, yet a total oasis and sanctuary that is so peaceful and beautiful. Houssan is exceptional as a staff member and cannot do enough for you. I thoroughly recommend this place plus the pool is great!

Nothing!

The location and decor. The staff Abdul, Erdogan and Nurettin were always exceedingly helpful. So were all of the cleaning staff. There was always a good morning said with a smile. Even though my French is negligible and Arabic nonexistent, I had no problem communicating. The food was of the highest quality. I would definitely stay there again.

Nothing really.
