EVERYTHING! Location. Cleanness. Breakfast. Size of the room. High ceiling room. Parking size. Resourcefulness of the staffs. AND! The uniqueness of this property - renovated building that was built for the school! A lot of history to it! The photos on the wall inside is a history teller. Very special charm to this hotel. Make sure to use the parking on site if you are here for the cheese market event. Tourists are coming to this town for this event by tourist buses from neighboring towns. With the staff's excellent recommendation, we moved our car from a street parking system (paid service) to the one at the hotel to avoid potential problems around this huge event. Take a quick visit to the park in front of the hotel. Nice and calm with some tulips and a pond with some ducks! Enjoy Alkmaar!

Hard to find bad points! NONE!!!

Fantastic location, in the heart of Alkmaar. Staff very warm and welcoming. Nothing was a problem to help out. Room was a great size, very clean with air conditioning. Breakfast delicious, with a huge variety to choose from. Especially recommended if on motorcycle as we could store it on the grounds, many don't have that facility and they also allowed us to leave it there after check out for a few hours whilst we went into Alkmaar for more sightseeing. We will definitely be back and will recommend this to our friends and family. Thank you ever so much. We loved it. Its an absolute gem of a place.

Nice breakfast with hot english breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage) and proper coffee/ espresso machine. Could choose aso breads and spreads if you want. Was nice to sleep with an open window and listen to the oude kerk bells ringing throughout the night. very close to everything while easily accessible by car (with parking available)

I ws initially not sure about (two) single beds... Not what I expect from hotels (seems in Netherlands this may sometimes be the option) That said the extra long single bed slept just fine. Was a bit noisy early evening - the plain close by seems to attract groups that could be a but load, but by bed time it was fine.

We booked into this hotel as a place to stay while we found a place to live in the area. I was coming to start a new job in the Netherlands. I cannot say enough about how wonderful Ezra was in every way...he greeted us in the rain after many hours of travel from North America, helped us get settled in, provided us with all kinds of information about local things, and made sure we were booked in for the long haul in case we could not find more permanent accommodations. The others who work there were equally great - always friendly, helpful, and knowledgable. The hotel is great - clean, comfortable, with a very good breakfast - but really, it was the service that impressed us. This was a very nice welcome to the Netherlands, and we highly recommend this hotel.

Sera, I am sure I spelled his name wrong, was on duty when we arrived. He was so welcoming and friendly. He gave us wonderful tips for our trip as it was a quick overnight stay. We left our luggage at the front desk the next day while walking around the city. He was on duty when we picked up our luggage. Once again we had a wonderful discussion while having a cup of hot tea to warm up before walking to the train station to go home. He made the stay extra special.

Pillows are too hard, but finding the perfect pillow for everyone is difficult.

Breakfast was a nice surprise as I didn't remember it was included into the price. The staff was very nice and friendly. The location is also quite good as it was in the middle between my office and the old city center. I liked it a lot.

Breakfast is the same every morning, so in few days you might want something else. First night was very cold in the room, but then it got warm.

Been here before. Excellent location, clean, good beds and breakfast is fine. Nice personnel.

However, this time we paid twice the price via Booking.com ("last rooms in Alkmaar"). Really hated this. Same room as we had before but now labelled as junior suite, grrrr. We were advised to call the hotel in such situations. Will do next time! One point that strikes me every time that we stay there: bathroom is huge but very chilly, no mats to avoid cold feet. Shower with sparse water, of course good for the environment, but because of the open structure (no door or curtain) not very comfy (brrr). A makeup mirror with light would be appreciated very much. Current light not adequate for make up application.

Located in the center of Alkmaar and however, easily accessible from Alkmaar train station (6mins walk) and from the main road if you reach it by car. The College hotel is basically next to every relevant facility. The crew is professional, friendly and helpful. Free coffees and teas at the bar next to the reception! Huge rooms with minimalist furnishing, great comfort. It was actually a real school!

We received a clean and a very big room. Very nice crue who were very kind, especially guy from reception desk, who escorted us to the room and gave us all needed information. Good breakfast. A short walk to the main event on friday's cheese market.

No elevator nor AC in the room. Both issues didn't really bother, but may be an issue to some (especially lack of AC during summer, and if you carry heavy luggage). Parking lot in hotel for visitors could be less expensive. (12.5 euros per day).

The staff is beyond amazing, the breakfast was very good for a smaller hotel and its the only hotel that is pet friendly!
