The room was spacious with all basic necessities including electric kettle which wasn't mentioned in the description of the room. The television had built-in chromecast so you could watch your favourite Netflix/HBO shows from mobile. The location next to the river and the museum was perfect.

The heating control was disabled or centrally controlled, felt quite hotel at night. A view of the Rhine or the John Frost bridge would have been awesome. The revolving glass door was small and fast moving making it difficult to take a baby pram through.

The location is very good. The room is very spacious. Private parking available. Reception staff very friendly and helpful.

The o nly negative experience was that every night when i returned to my room, i need to call reception for coffee capsules and sugar and coffee cup. Housekeeping is not refilling the amenities. That was during my entired stay. The positive part of this, was that when i call reception, in less then five minutes they are by my room with the amenities. Excellent service from all the reception staff.

Breakfast was great.

A small problem was that after booking with Booking.com, I didn't realize I had to pay the hotel immediately via an email they had sent me; when I did pay 48 hours later, I messaged the hotel via Bookin.com app to request confirmation that my reservation was still valid, despite late payment, but I didn't get a reply. However, on arriving at the hotel, there was no problem, my reservation was still valid.

This is a superb hotel. The decor of the very spacious room was excellent. The bed was enormous and very very comfortable. The room air conditioning worked really well too. Bathroom was superb. The room I believe was a king deluxe and worth every penny. Hotel breakfast was outstanding as a buffet with omelets made to order and salmon to compliment the breads, meats and cheeses. They also hired push bikes. The location is excellent being right on the edge of all the restaurants and bars and only a few hundred meters from John Frost bridge. Parking was fantastic and secure.

Good location to spend the evening in the city. Good room with everything we needed for our stay. Comfortable bed. We chose not to have breakfast and enjoyed food locally. We enjoyed a drink in their pleasant bar. Adequate facilities for cyclists to store bikes. Very friendly and helpful staff. Relaxing city and hotel.

Breakfast seemed a bit expensive which is why we chose not to have it.

The initial room I was put in was very loud even though I'd asked for a quiet one, so then they moved me to a really great room in the rear. The rooms were huge and good facilities e.g. closets, desks, bathrooms. The desk was super friendly and helpful.

The breakfast was basically white bread and meat. I also had asked for a bike, and they didn't save one for me, but in fact the town was a lot hillier than I expected so I didn't pursue this very hard. I wound up taking a bus. The nearest place open in the morning with a vegan breakfast was the main train station, about 20 minutes away, but that's not really the hotel's fault. Similarly, there were some great looking restaurants by the hotel, but they all closed by 9, and my meeting was up at the zoo and I only got back at 9, so wound up eating the hotel's "veggie burger" one night.

All in all a very pleasant one night stay. We were 4 cyclists, and we were almost put off by lack of secure bike storage facilities. There is a car park, but a bit too easy for people to get into. Other than that, a clean, modern hotel which suffered a bit by shortage of staff, so breakfast was good but not complete (the bacon ran out, no scrambled eggs). Staff very friendly, nice bar, big rooms., great location.

Wonderful and helpful reception staff who made me a coffee on arrival which was lovely to receive, thank you. Easy booking in, everything explained about hotel facilities etc. Super room overlooking the market Square. Great air conditioning which chilled my room perfectly. Great room with beverage facilities and lots of space to unpack my motorcycle gear. Excellent secure parking for motorcycles. Great hotel location for the town centre, the John Frost Bridge and WW2 Arnhem locations to visit. Overall I was very impressed with this hotel and it's valuable staff who are an asset to the Bastion Hotel. Breakfast was great, lots of choices on offer to sample and choose from. I'd recommend staying here at the Bastion Hotel in Arnhem. Thank you Dave Stubbs

Location close to the city center but separated enough to avoid crowds and noise. Good indoor parking. Big room and huge bed (a bit soft though).

What's with the red transparent curtains? Room service staff does not speak Dutch but at least could be taught a few words in English like "towels please" or "we don't need cleaning today".

I had a room high up at the front of the hotel. It overlooked the street but the soundproofing was OK. Nice bar area and breakfast room.

A little understaffed when I arrived. It took two visits to reception to get the car park door opened. The safe in my room made a rattling noise, so I had to disconnect one of its batteries (which I reconnected in the morning).
