This is the place where I feel like at home! Especially the garden with fountain and their own beer is fantastic. And then just outside of the hotel you can find few lakes with animals. Really relaxing and enjoyable. This is my favorite place love it.

I left some luggage and they said that they will personally take care for it. Because something strange happened a day before. And then they throw it my bag away! Strange! And then the hotel staff said that they will reimburse my bag with staff and they never responded on my emails anymore...even after I am staying there again. Feel a bit tricked and not trustful.

Beautiful, quiet astounding location (former abbey - please don't miss out the amazing chapel!), big clean and warm rooms, nature surrounding the hotel (there was a lake/pond with farm animals!), close to the city center and 20 min on foot from the central station.

I must say I was a bit disappointed by the fact that our room was not in the main stunning building, but in another one, close but this second building had without doubt less "majestic" vibes. I got a glimpse of a couple rooms located in the main building and it was all another story :)

A wonderful location, stunning abbey, good value for the stay, friendly staff, all comprised a warm ambience and quiet beautiful surroundings. The room was clean. The fact that it is a place of worship and a place of wordly gatherings both. The enthousiastic morning breakfast organization.

the creaking floors in the room were just too much. the beds are old and the matrasses need to be changed. the lack of light stands is a problem during the night when one needs to leave the room to go to the wc... the staff needs to speak some other language than dutch although they were very friendly, the language barrier in this kind of establishment is a problem.

The location - it's our second time here and we absolutely adore the former abbey & the church, also the domain. It's like a fairytale, living in a castles. It has a certain piece that me and my SO love it. Staff is always great, the terrace of the brasserie as well - the domain has deers, geese, wild ducks, an impressive forrest (you can find and eat blackberries) & a hidden forrest alley that leads you to Herzogenrath (a pitoreque town both in Germany & Holland with a medieval tower of it's own). The Rolduc hotel is 3 stars, rooms are modest, but the cleanliness is very good & the view - always exceptional. I even enjoyed a private pipe organ in the church, where you can visit and pray all day long (it has a history of almost 1000 years!)

It would be amazing for the room furniture to be upgraded to a more contemporary design, while still maintaning an accesible price value.

The Staff were just fantastic and really couldn't do enough for you. Everyone was so friendly and attentive, they are a class above anything I've experienced before, especially so when you consider the price. It's quite obvious that they take great pride in working at Rolduc, it shines through at every turn. This venue is a great place to go and just lose yourself, somewhere perfect to shut yourself away from the big, bad world outside. I'll definitely be going again!

Very smelly toilets. Room ventilation was poor (exacerbated by very humid conditions).

OMG the building! It is rare you get to stay in a place with so much history. The view from window was spectacular. Felt a little like a horror movie in the best way possible. The room was simple, had all I needed. Slept well. Free parking. Deer and other animals in the area. Beautiful shower.

Curtain has some stains on it. No coffee or tea option in the room (could be nice). The canvas in the room was a bit scarry :D Has a RED coffin on it. Overall, nothing much to complain about.

Accommodation is situated in the premises of the former abbey. The location is fabulous. It is possible to walk around in the area and see the accessible parts of the monastery (monastery garden, church interior, courtyard). We had a lovely stay.

The room was not well cleaned. The floor was not vacuumed and we found a towel and a plastic bottle from previous guests in the room. The pillows were not comfortable.

Everything! The location is fabulous- with the forest, the 4 ponds, deers & geese, wild ducks. The medieval abbey is amazing - you feel like you have your own castle & personal 1000 years old Gothic church. I prayed there whenever I wanted -it felt incredible. The staff was super friendly, kind. And the cleaning ladies super professional- a big plus for cleanness. So many places where you can just walk, have a picnic, get married (yes, it's a lovely cozy venue), or just enjoy an afternoon with your beloved or kids. Will definitely come back! P.s. in the Martin Buber lounge, the guests can have a really good coffee any time of the day/night and a varied selection of tea. All complimentary from the hotel. The room was frugal, like an abbey :) but the super high ceilings ( 5m or so) and the large windows with the best view ever, made it feel like you are in paradise. My SO told me not to write this review because he wants the place always to ourselves 😁 P.S. super safe place, large parking. We have absolutely no worries.

The venue is of course something unique. It feels like you're walking back in history. Very nice surroundings as well and close to both Germany and Belgium. Beds were very comfortable and the room was clean.

I wish we could at least into the main church/abbey itself without a tour. Also, the rooms with common bathrooms stink really bad! They need an upgrade and a coat of paint.

Overall, I was very pleased with this property - being a converted abbey, it is a very special place, the room & beds were great, surroundings (the buildings themselves and central garden area) are awesome

The one thing we did not like (at all) was the inappropriate "ski bar" music being played in the breakfast room and bar (too loud, and not suiting a monastery environment). Even my companions (teenagers!) felt the same
