Great location at entrance (500 m) of national park. Nice pool and wellness centre. Comfortable room. Very friendly staff.

Apparently the restaurant would be good but we didn’t get to experience it. For dinner there are 4- and 5-course surprise menus but we like to choose ourselves what we feel like eating that day. Otherwise there is a very limited menu with limited vegetarian options. And you would have to be at the table before 19:30! For breakfast the only choice is a 25 euros pp full breakfast, which we don’t prefer. When asked whether we could just get a coffee with croissant, the answer was: mo, we don’t do that. At that exact moment, right next to me at the bar, a staff member was having coffee with croissant and bread with jam. What a poor service!

nicely decorated and comfortable rooms. staff was very helpful and the engineer went out of his way to get our faulty air conditioning working. easy walk to national park or into town for supermarket and restaurants.

it was annoying to have to personally preheat the sauna and steam in the health center for an hour before one uses it. this happened both in the am and in the late afternoon. I understand the need for energy conservation but the steam or sauna taking some much preplanning was a disincentive to use it and the fact it had such facilities was a major factor in the decision to stay there

We had a great time at Hotel de Sterrenberg. Spacious room, enjoying the peace and quiet on the edge of the village of Otterlo. Proximity to the entrance of the park Hoge Veluwe is definitively a plus. We enjoyed the 'surprise menu' at the Cèpes restaurant. A real treat of flavours. Also the accompanying wine offer was excellent. Staff is super enthusiast and friendly. Breakfast is also delicious, with fresh local produce. Modern and tasteful interior design. On parking lot there is the possibility to charge your EV.

If there is any comment to give, it's the channel offer on the TV. As Belgian guests we missed Belgian channels on the TV ;-)

I absolutely loved the location and vibe of this hotel. The facilities were very well maintained and clean. The room was very comfortable and it had a nice balcony. It was also very well isolated from the other rooms, so there was no noise at all, which was a big plus for us. The staff was super friendly.

The day we arrived, we noticed the bathroom didn't have any soap so we had to ask the staff at the reception to provide us with some, but I guess they forgot to do it so we had to use our own soap in the end. When we were checking out, we were almost charged with the breakfast fees, even though we never made any reservations for breakfast. A little misunderstanding from their side.

The hotel is very nicely decorated (some nice wooden artwork on the walls around the facilities). Our room was quite spacious and comfortable and was nicely separated into zones, so that you don't feel that everything is in one room. We also had the breakfast at the hotel, it was quite a big breakfast which included a standard number of small portions of nice and tasty treats, the hotel also offers one free a la cart breakfast piece per person which is included in the price, however we didn't take it as it was already quite enough. The dinner at the restaurant was very tasty and I think is very reasonably priced for what you get, we were very happy with the food and service although you could see that the restaurant was a little short staffed, this didn't impact the good experience we had though! We also used the swimming pool area which was super nice, its also very handy that its open until 23:00, so you can use it after dinner. Another important thing to note, the hotel is located in walking distance from the entrance into the Hoge Veluwe which makes it very easy to visit it from the hotel. Overall we had a great experience.

We've found the room price to be a bit too expensive, which was probably due to the popular period of year when we visited. Also, it seemed that the restaurant was a little short staffed which didn't impact our experience too much.

Great location, pleasant staff, very good and clean facilities. A really nice and tasty breakfast

This is not so much critique for the hotel, but more of a tip for fellow travelers. There was a limited capacity in the hotel restaurant during our stay in March. The hotel had informed us about that upfront, so no issue here. What we have not realised was that it was not only Sterrenberg that was facing staff shortages in Otterlo and thus finding a place to have a dinner became a bit of an issue on our spur of a moment last minute weekend trip. I hope the situation will get better soon, but for the time being I strongly recommend to make restaurant reservations at the time of booking.

Its just the best location. Close to the National Park. Fantastic environment and weather. The staff are superb - understated, subtle, professional - always fully on the ball. Breakfast is magnificent - just order and enjoy - I don't think I have had a better one ! Evening meals are a set menu - its fantastic if you want to go the whole hoggg - I would suggest may be to offer a slightly toned down (beginners menu) but then I would not know what to leave out - may be just offer 2, 3 or 4 courses from the set menu ?

Coffee machine in the room - could be updated. Toiletries - I'm not a big fan of the big dispensers for soap, shampoo etc - I much prefer the small individual tubes and a real bar of soap.

Well-designed, spacious room in a beautiful, peaceful setting, with patio doors opening onto a small private terrace with a view of the forest. The room was extremely quiet (walls seemed to be made of solid concrete!) with a large, comfortable bed. Staff were welcoming and helpful. We rented bikes from the hotel, which was very convenient as it meant we could return them as late as we wanted - also, the bikes were well-maintained and easy to use. Spa facilities open till 11pm so we could have a swim/sauna after a full day in the park. Breakfast was delicious and plentiful - a bit pricey but well worth it. We couldn't get a table at the hotel restaurant, but there's a fairly extensive bar menu and other good restaurants within a 5-minute walk.

If I'm being picky, would have been nice to have some extra tea/coffee supplies in the room (e.g. we only had 3 teabags and 2 creamers), and separate shampoo rather than hair & body wash. But otherwise couldn't fault anything!

The food was really good, both the breakfast and the lunch menu. It was clean except for some dust. You could see they really made an effort with a lot of details that make a difference. The location is great,

The evening service ignored us for ca.20 minutes. It wasn’t that busy and some even had a conversation in front of us but didn’t even say hello. For context, we sat right in front of the bar so the staff repeatedly passed us/ stood very close to us not doing a lot. Thanks to this rudeness we left and discovered a nice bar in town.
