Let's start with the facts: we have booked a deluxe room, through booking.com, plus the night at the Restaurant Damianz. We have paid about 260 Euro for the room (including parking and breakfast x2). For the restaurant, 240 Euro, we were 2, we went for the Chef's Menu (6 courses), plus 1 glass of (excellent "Blatina") red wine, 2 beers, 2 glasses of water. Final damage: about 500€. Considerations: if you're thinking to enjoy the sense of the Arresthuis (which is amazing by the way) just keep in mind that it comes with a cost. The room was very clean.
 Courtesy of the Staff: the Hotel deserves 5 stars, with no doubts, All. Breakfast: 5 stars! Great service. Restaurant: I must admit that we were not prepared to join such "experience", top restaurant, but be aware ...very very expensive. Experience goes with a significant cost!

Note wrt the room service: we left the room around 19:30hrs, we back at 23.00; at 5 stars hotel I was expecting a quick refinement of the room, unfortunately nothing was done. The shower-gel dispensers were almost empty. Towels: only 2 small, 2 big available in the room x2. Be noted the lack of "handdoekradiator" in the bathroom, so the day after, our towels were not completely dry. Pillows: 2 big pillows, 2 dimension, unfortunately both very hard - this is probably an individual's issue- , but I couldn't sleep very well.

Very nice hotel close to the city centre of Roermond. The hotel used to be the local prison, which was rebuild into a hotel. They did a very nice job in respecting the old building. The rooms are build in and divided over multiple "old" cells. Clean and large rooms with a good bed, bathroom and work area. Friendly staff. The restaurant is supposed to be very good but it was completely booked for the evening. Bar is good and a nice outside sitting area. Did not use the breakfast. Parking next to the hotel.

The hotel is really interesting as a design. the rooms are very clean and nice, although the heating was not working. The hotel staff was very nice and provided a heater in my room to help warm up the room.

Unfortunately, i had to wait for 25min + for coffee and the breakfast choice I ordered. The breakfast area was not busy but somehow my order did not register with any of the two ladies serving in the breakfast area.

A very special stay in a former prison. Our room was spacious, squeaky clean and well decorated. Also parking on site was easy and convenient. Don’t miss breakfast, it’s delicious. Staff was so friendly and helpful. We didn’t have the chance to have a meal at Damianz, because it was fully booked but we’ve been provided with a copious amout of lovely recommendations for dinner - everything in walking distance.

Not a deal-breaker but maybe one could look into the mattress of Room No. 2 - it’s either very soft or slightly worn ot.

The build quality of the shower: why did you go for the cheapest possible shower tap and instead of opting for real chrome armatures you went with plastic armature with the look of chrome? it was very hard to turn on the shower, it felt the tap could snap off with the amount of force you had to apply to turn it and just leaves a cheap aftertaste after a wonderful stay otherwise where so much eye for details was applied throughout the building.

The staff was exceptional and the placement of the hotel was also amazing and close to everything. I also really liked how they turned a prison into something so welcoming and don't even get me started on the room. Simply put, Amazing.

This isn't their fault, we just didn't really do enough research, my Fiancé is vegetarian and they only had 1 option on their restaurant menu for Vegetarians, but again, we had to do our research before making reservations there.

Unique building, beautifully decorated with respect for the original purpose, without to much imagination you can put yourself in that time. However a very cosy and modern restaurant space, with a great breakfast, In the city center of Roermond. extremely friendly staff.

Lovely hotel and great experience to sleep in a prison. GREAT restaurant, a must try!!! Staff are all very friendly and helpful. Location is great and very conveniently located if you want to go shopping at Roermond outlet.

We had a lovely room located at the patio ground floor. Unfortunately in the middle of the night, the staff on night duty decided to have a smoke and rather loud chat in front of our window, waking us up around 4 am. We did mention this to the hotel and they 'solved' it by offering an upgrade for our next visit.

The unique place, the decoration, the space in the room, big bed, the quiet neighbourhood, the giant bathtub, the perfect service and kindness from all the staff. The included breakfast was awesome!

Beds were quite hard, and we had the suite just above the kitchen so I heard noise (doors, ...) late in the night.
