Atmosphere, location
It felt a tad outdated, whilst having seaview the windows where not clean, you can see that the carpet had it best of days

The hotel is a household name on The Hague. Luckily inside the building still many of the charming classical elements of the building can be found. Nice new elements such as the art blend in nicely. The breakfast was quite lovely and you have a beautiful view of the ocean.. Also it is a nice place to stay with you get children as there are entertainment options for them., the pool was functional.
Although the rooms on the first floor are comfortable, the look and the feel do not give you the impression you are at a grand hotel. These rooms are a bit a dime a dozen and therefore not very exciting. The elevator is quite slow. The breakfast area was a bit too overcrowded, although that is probably the result of the busy holiday seasons.

I liked that we could charge the electric car overnight and it was included in the parking, the valet parking was great. Good choice of food at breakfast, nice friendly staff who were always very well presented.
the hot choices at breakfast were not as hot as they could have been, and mediocre quality, for the price it would have been nice to have an a la carte menu for breakfast available. No milk in bedroom and poor selection of tea, no free water in room, my daughter was charged over 5€ for a small bottle of water from the mini fridge, I would have expected that to be free of charge, and the cups were too small.

This was my 3rd time at this hotel, the last time was about 8 yrs ago and the 1st time was over 25 yrs ago. The reason why I am stating the time frame is because little has changed and that is good but also bad. I am of the opinion that if something is good ...don't change it but certain things need maintenance/renovation/restoration. The Amrath Kurhaus was built in the 1800s. The outside still looks great but on the inside, I believe that the carpets, the elevators and the beds need a facelift/makeover. The narrow, outdated elevators are very scary, the fabric of the beds is torn, and the bathrooms are very clean but they no longer have the take-along little goodies all you get is a sewing kit and shower cap. the toiletries are all in big refill bottles (still great quality though) the ones fluffy robes and slippers with the name and logo of the hotel embroidered on them have now made place for throw-away slippers and ugly boring washed-out white robes. The buffet breakfast was good. The staff was really nice. Parking was limited. What hasn't changed is the extremely high price per night, which years ago was worth every cent. Now I would say, "There are better hotels for the same price. All in all, we enjoyed our weekend despite the little disappointments. I wouldn't really go back very soon.

the room was very well maintained and clean, the location was perfect for a first trip with my daughter all the infrastructure was within walking distance. the best thing about this hotel is the team at reception and in the restaurant very friendly helpful "winning team"
what I didn't like was the breakfast was rather bland the pastries defrosted I suppose, coffee with a lot of water I had to go down to the restaurant to take something more suitable there was an unpleasant smell in the corridors I don't know if it's the smell of old or aged carpets

This is not a place rough drinking or bad behaviour, Very civilised, majucal touch of enchanting elegance The historical elegance of the building including the gallery was just enchanting and the piano, its not modern thank god , art displays , artistic grace and history of the building was just such a surprise , for art lovers .Dogs allowed was so sweet ,the Anerican lady Veronica who checke me in , the evening staff the cafe were so helpful and it was delightful . The Swimming pool and Spa was exceptional and the small pool sea views , it was a touch of class I wish I had longer It was enchanting and elegant , a slice of majic for me ,loved the toiletries in the bed room , my room was beautiful perfect and lovely view I could hear sea gulls and waves at night . I prefer put of season as i am quiet person .
I loved everything .. .enchanting

I really liked how elegant the building is and how kind, accommodating and friendly the staff were. Immediately upon arrival I got to experience the kindness of the staff who from beginning to end, gave one of the best 5-star experiences that I have had. The location is fantastic with balconies from the room giving the best views of the sunset and the hotel being very easily accessible by public transport. I really enjoyed observing the art on display throughout the hotel as well.
I would have liked to try the breakfast but I didn't go for it because of the price.

We went for three days to kurhaus scheveningen. It was an amazing experience. The staff was kind. The spa and swimming pool was relaxing. Breakfast was super. Only 100 m from the pier. The weather was very nice. Our room was zeezicht and we saw the best sundown ever!
The matrasses were too soft. In the swimming pool there were a lot of children jumping and diving. Even after the family swimming hours children were screaming and jumping together.

This is the second time I go to this hotel. Room was again very spacious and clean. Bed and pillows are extremely comfortable. The staff was amazing with my pet. They gave us treats, a dog bed and dog bowl. He felt very welcome! Location is right in the middle of the city in front of the ocean.
We wanted to have a coffee and cake as room service. Prices were ok for a room service, but we were very shocked when we were informed we had to pay an additional extra fee for the room service of 17.50 (which was almost the same amount as the coffee and cake). We ended up going to the beautiful lobby and had our treats there, but I thought that was a strange extra charge.

One of the 2 rooms where not ready on arrival, at the reception they immediately procured a voucher to spend in the bar to pass the little time we had to wait, it was not blocking as we could drop our luggage in the room(adjecent) that was already cleaned, but it was a nice gesture.
Bathrobes and slippers where available in the room, but i must admit it was abit odd to dressup in swimminggear in your room, then travel throughout the entire place in "spa-mode" while crossing all the arriving guests :) We didn't take offence but can imagine people having issues with it. The pool was relatively small and abit overcrowded,
