The owner was very welcoming, helpful and friendly...we were able to wash our clothes and dry them on the line... he recommended places to visit and ways to travel to our next destination. The unit was clean, tidy and well set up. We even had lollies left for us! Plenty of teabags and the bonus of a hob to cook on. It had a good range of cooking pots, pans etc, and utensils. The shower was great too! The TV had a wide range of channels and parking convenient just outside our door.

Cant tell you how much we loved our stay here. Owners were so friendly, welcoming and helpful. Facilities were superb, we had stayed at some rather uncomfortable places on our trip and were in heaven! Balclutha does not really have a lot of sights to see but was well located at the end of our Catlins tour.

We used the hotel for two nights and it was in general very good. We thought there may be nose from neighbours but all quietened down early. I found the bed a little hard but not a serious issue. The hosts were great.

Well hot weather in the South Island was not under the control of the hotel, but there was no AC. At east we could have an air flow through the unit without due noise issues.

Nice clean, big room . Fridge, coffee/tea, and fresh milk. Large bathroom. Thanks, Pauline, for the sweets in our room😊

For me, the mattress was too soft, and l kept rolling to the middle of the bed during the night. But other than that, we had a great overnight stay

Awesome place especially our units as they were around the rear and very quiet. I assume the ones up front could be a little noisy due to traffic. The owners are lovely people, they gave us a lot off information were to eat and places to visit. I would def stay again.

Arrived early but welcomed by the owner. Lovely room with everything you could want. Used the kitchen facilities to cook tea - again, everything you could want. Lots of hot water, good shower and bed really comfortable. Excellent place to stay.

Arrived to be told they were full & Booking.com should not have taken our booking. However they offered us use of ‘staff’ house next door which was adequate as getting late to find elsewhere. They were v helpful.

Size and layout were very good. Well equipped kitchen etc. Everything very clean. Bonus free use of washing machine. 2nzd for drier. Very friendly helpful staff.

Mattress on the bed not to our comfort. It was too gutless and when one of us turned over the other bounced.

The motel was easy to find and the staff were most helpful providing a map of the area and advising of places to eat in Balclutha. The room was comfortable and very clean.
