Alan was very helpful and friendly. No fuss to add our grandson to the booking at the last minute too. Motel was comfortable, well maintained, and handy to town yet quiet with a lovely rural outlook . Looked like it still had the original kitchen from the 1970s which was in great condition and felt like a fun blast from the past! Only dampener on our stay was that the weather was unusually humid. Can't do much about the weather though! There was a fan provided in the room, but airconditioning would have moved our stay a notch up to perfect! Thank you for an enjoyable and no fuss stay in a pleasant spot.

The owner was so helpful and friendly to assist me in putting my flowers in the laundry to keep them from drying out in the boot of my car he even woke up early the next morning about 6.00 am to hellp me put them back in I was overwhelmed by his generosity that made my stay safe secure and enjoyable 😉 as I headed off in the direction to hikiwi marea for a unveiling I like to say a big thankyou again to the owner for his kind hospitality I will definitely refer family and friends to this motel Goodluck.

Had a fantastic weekend getaway from Auckland to visit Tāne Mahuta and KaiIwi lakes, stayed in this quiet lovely motel, which is very reasonably prices, clean and very cozy, had a very warm welcome and a very educational chat with the host and his adorable cat Blue, who gave us few tips about surroundings and some Kauri history. Enjoyed free wi-fi and parking, very close proximity to the town.

Breakfast wasn't included but I brought my own. The proprietor was very nice, showed where everything was and explained checkout. Very clean. Excellent bed and hot water every time. Quiet at night even though it's close to a main road. Close to all the shops with a good variety of eateries.

There wasn't anything to dislike.

Alan made us welcome from the minute we arrived offering us knowledge and even a jug of milk. He allowed us to walk around his garden and see his 2 Kauri tree's and give us information about them, thanks Alan :-)

Well nothing could be better except the room was a bit tired although very clean and the beds and towels were clean and soft which was appreciated.

The location was great. Large room. I rang to say we wouldn't be arriving till around 9 30pm. Nothing was a problem. I was met at the door and we were escorted to our room. Plenty of information provided on what to do and where to go. Just plain old Excellent service. Thank you. Will definitely stay again when we are up that way again

First of all 10 out of 10 for customer service. I phoned ahead to say I may be late arriving and advised no problem, which was very much appreciated. Motelier Alan very welcoming and helpful. I would describe Dargaville as old fashioned Kiwi hospitality which was a nice surprise as many motels can have staff who process the booking, but neglect the customer service. Don't expect the latest trends in interior design, Dargaville is Vintage New Zealand, in a good way, a bit of nostalgia when life was a lot less complicated. The motel room was a very good size, spacious and comfortable and immaculately clean, especially the kitchen and the shower base was so shiny it looked brand new. Nice also to have the TV on a trolley that can be viewed at eye level instead of mounted on the wall up near the ceiling and ending up with a sore neck. Also unexpectedly even though only a two night stay, unit was serviced on daily basis. Nice views out towards the Northern Wairoa River. Motel grounds also well cared for and maintained.

No complaints. I did ask about a microwave and advised is available on request and perhaps slightly bigger size towels when time for replacement.

Lovely wee old fashioned motel which makes it very homely. The couch was so comfortable, we loved sitting on it to watch a movie at night. The host was very lovely and gave us his recommendations Of the area. Great stay and would definitely stay here again.

Great traditional kiwi motel, Alan was very friendly and helpful. The room was huge and the kitchenette had all the necessary utensils to cook a couple of meals. Good location within walking distance to Dargaville.

Really nice friendly and helpful owner. Big room. Pots and pans, hotplate provided. Easy access to nearby supermarket.

It didn't bother me, but the motel had a hot plate, rather than a microwave. Some customers who were not aware of this might have bought food that required reheating, and had problems if designed for microwaving.
