Superb location in Lofoten. Stunning area with plenty of water (obviously). I thoroughly recommend the Eagle Safari/Trollfjord Excursion for even more fjord-tastic views. The hotel fits in well with the sophisticated, yet simple, Norwegian style in the area. The breakfast hall is a glassy structure protruding from the main building over de water of the fjord. The morning sun shines brightly over the port while you enjoy the plethora of tasty dishes, ranging from cereals and bread to waffles and warm eggs and meat.
I chose the least expensive option and I had a ground-floor room with a view of the car park. It was not unexpected and my stay was peaceful and mostly quiet anyway.

Looking at the map, it seems like the property is off a bridge somewhere but once I was there, it is actually very near to the centre of Svolvær. We drove and there is parking outside the hotel but it is paid parking (not expensive). The hotel was lovely. You'll be able to look out at the mountains from almost every area of the hotel. The breakfast view was my favourite! Breakfast spread was great too. I got to make my own waffles at the waffle station. There's also a coffee/tea/hot water machine which you can use at any time of the day for free. The staff were very helpful and friendly too.
My only issue with the room is that mine was slightly small so i didn't really have space to open up my luggage.

Very nice hotel, the view from the bedroom and the restaurant space is amazing! Situated in a very central location with all the facilities around. The best part for us is the breakfast, international buffet and local products, perfect combination! The staff is very friendly and welcoming, always there to help and answer any questions.
The only thing we didn’t like was the bathroom, no window, the pipe in the shower was faulty. A quite bad smell was coming out from the bathroom every time we took a shower, even though we were keeping the bedroom window open.

Room overlooked the harbour. Breakfast was excellent. Very clean.
Parking at additional cost (£45) for three days. Dinner buffet only provided if coach parties were arriving and then hotel guests could only eat in very limited designated spaces. The majority of space was reserved for the coach parties. Reception staff unable to offer simple advice and were quite rude. Pub/ bar next door playing loud music into the early hours of the morning.

Loved the breakfast! So much to choose from! When we got to our room, we realized we didn't get the twin room we paid for and the hotel was able to move us the next day and gave us vouchers for breakfast and lunch at any Scandic Hotel.
Because we didn't get the correct room the first night, the hotel would have refunded us the difference instead of giving us vouchers and couldn't since we booked on Booking.com and not directly with the hotel. I am hoping Booking.com in the future will be able to work with the hotels and refund any difference in costs.

The view from the bedroom was really good, what a pleasure to just sit there and watch the sea, the boats and mountains by the window every morning and evening. How about the breakfast! Likely the best breakfast buffet I've ever had in a hotel. There was so much choice! Even I as a vegan didn't know what to pick anymore. There seemed to also be many glutenfree options. I'm honestly very impressed by the breakfast, especially considering it's only a 3-stars hotel. The breakfast area was also very spacious, so even at rush hour it didn't feel too hectic or crowded. Finally, the staff was great and helpful when we needed anything! This seems to be the norm in Scandic hotels and in my opinion that makes this chain quite reliable and always makes me want to book Scandic again. (I swear they are not paying me to write this, I've just had multiple very good experiences with them, their service just always seems impeccable to me).
Our shower's temperature fluctuated a lot, which was of course not very pleasant. Our bedroom was the first one in the hallway next to the dinner area, and the wall between that area and our room wasn't very thick: from our bed during dinner time we could follow all the conversation of the people eating on the other side of the wall. Both these issues were reported to the staff, so hopefully they will do something about it!

Our superior twin room had a great view overlooking the water (much better than overlooking a noisy parking lot). We were given a quiet room at the end of the hall as requested. We couldn't hear any noise through the wall from the adjoining room. The bathroom was small but well-designed with decent counter space, so it didn't feel small. The shower was good with steady pressure and only slight changes in temperature. The breakfast was good (though there were no pancakes or waffles). There were restaurants and a bakery fairly close by. The hotel had a little "store" where one could buy snacks and yogurt. There was a 24-hour desk. We thought the price was fair for the great location.
The room is small (though that helps keep the price reasonable). The bed was firmer than I liked (though my husband thought it was fine). I also thought the pillow was too thick so used my own thinner one. There was no electrical outlet beside the bed and no bedside tables. (I used the room chair as a bedside table, which made more space for my suitcase.) There were no facecloths and no bathmat. Though there is a parking area right at the hotel, it is a public parking lot. One has to pay using the EasyPay app. If one arrives late to the hotel, there may be no parking spaces left. That happened to us one evening and we had to park several blocks away at another public lot. In spite of all the "negatives," we had a good stay, mainly because of the great location and quiet room.

The location on the water and the view from the room was lovely. The room was small but fine for a night or two. Easy walking to pretty much everything. Good breakfast.
We had a bad check in experience, there was not a room available for us although booked and paid for thru booking.com 2 months earlier. The receptionist handled it very badly. Blamed booking.com, finally found a room but not the standard we had booked. Would think twice about using booking.com in future, no satisfactory explanation or reassurance from either party.

The friendly, helpful staff, the breakfast, the comfortable bed and the view to the harbour.
An odd smell in the bathroom all the time but worse following the storm … perhaps because of the greywater used in toilet? The fact that it took a large snowfall before the walks and parking area were shovelled properly …. The same in Norway and Finland … in Canada businesses are fined if the snow or ice impede.

Easy check in process. Friendly staff. Clean, comfortable room with a view of the harbor. Room darkening shades for proper sleep despite daylight in June. Nice linens and soaps/lotions/shampoo/conditioner. Breakfast spread with something for everyone, refreshed throughout the breakfast window. Water refill station, good coffee, and variety of juices. Quick walk across the bridge into the main area for evening activities, easy location for planned excursions.
Nothing, it was well run and a very nice stay (2 nights).
