Room was comfortable and authentic in the old part of the Inn. Pool was nice but did not try food as reviews not good and left before breakfast. Great location and old inn a beautiful old building.

The room initially given was in the new part and not authentic. This was not the authentic room in a 300 year old inn as advertised and not what we paid a premium price for. After discussion with staff we got the room we paid for in the old in. Not the first place where advertise something but when you get there you’re given something substandard. Bit over priced but old inn is very nice.

Antique Inn is a beautiful property in Nizwa, a pearl of Islam. Lovely outdoor spaces and characterful interiors. I loved the place and found Youssef a charming host. His staff are to a man lovely. You won’t find a better location. Sitting in the garden or on the top deck for a meal, you have beautiful views to the mountains, historic buildings, gardens and both the fort and the central mosque. My room was comfortable and filled with character. It is no way modern and the comfort only goes so far. However, for a stay in historic Nizwa, this was just enough. I was lucky too that kind Youssef changed my room to one with in-room bathroom facilities. I think that probably makes a big difference on the experience.

Nothing not to like, as long as you’re not looking for mod-cons and in room amenities.

On arrival we were made to feel very welcome and for our whole stay the staff were happy and eager to help. Had a room with ensuite bathroom, but not all rooms do. Room was spacious and had the rustic local character that we hoped for. Location was excellent - just what we wanted, being in the centre of "old" Nizwa, just a short walk from the fort and souk. Limited choice for dinner/breakfast buffet if you don't like local cuisine but still adequate and served on a roof top terrace that provided views of the fort and mosque and surrounding area. Other nice inside (with traditional coffee and dates provided) and outside (including pool) sitting out areas provided where could relax.

Whilst there was WIFI, in the evening it got very slow and sometimes cut out. Could do with some TLC in certain areas, but does not detract from its charm. Not the hotel's fault as Google Maps has it in the wrong place, but couldn't find the hotel to start with, missing turning down to private car park, and then had to negotiate some very narrow streets. If arriving by car (particularly a large 4x4 as we had) you may find it easier to park in the public car park (outside the souk) and take 5 minute walk to find the hotel by foot first.

Accomodation is really in the city center. With free parking and a swimming pool, I would really recommend staying here as you are very close to all sightseeings in the city. There are not many restaurants in the city center. I would recommend the rooftop of the Tamrah restaurant as the food is good and you have a nice view on the Nizwa fortress and mosque. Also really recommend staying here on Friday to see the goat market and subsequent cow market. Make sure to also visit Jabreen Fort which is a 30 minute drive from Nizwa. I enjoyed it more than Nizwa fortress.

They have different types of rooms. I got a small room with no windows, a mattress on the ground and an external bathroom where I could not stand. For just the 2 days I enjoyed it though as they really aim to keep it in the original style. Breakfast was quite simple and it seemed they did not really refill. As such, when I had breakfast a bit later, many of the items were already empty.

Hotel and room were unique and bed comfortable, enjoyed a good breakfast on the terraces. Location amazing, minutes from souk, fort, museum and restaurants. Our room was right on the main street and we could hear everything when people walked or drove past and also noise from the terrace above, I thought we wouldn't sleep a wink. However after around 10pm everything was practically silent until the early morning prayer call so I needn't have worried. Staff were nice and helpful. Room very clean.

We weren't a fan of the bathroom being separate and outside the room, however this is in keeping with the hotel and it is what it is!

A lovely heritage house converted to a hotel with multiple rooms in the heart of Nizwa’s gorgeous old town. All staff were super hospitable and lovely. The standout person during our stay was Ibrahim - our wonderful tour guide who took us in a 4WD on a day trip to Jebel Akhdar (Green Mountain). He was knowledgeable, funny and super friendly. I highly recommend booking a trip and asking for him as your guide.

Our only suggestion would be the buffet. It wasn’t bad but not amazing - the food was a bit cold and not enough things like fresh fruit

The old, recently restored hotel is right in the heart of the atmospheric old city of Nizwa. The rooftop restaurant (food is fantastic) offers views over the ancient buildings and little alleys, allowing you to look down at the bustle below. Easy walking distance to the fort, the souks and the main mosque. The rooms have been renovated to retain their traditional features. Don't expect mod-cons but it's atmospheric!

We stayed twice, a few days apart. The first room was not en-suite; we had to cross a public space and unlock our own designated bathroom with a key. It's fine if you are not bothered about privacy.

This is a beautiful hotel in the old town built in a historic building. The rooftop breakfast area was so nice, we really enjoyed taking our meals there. Breakfast was also high quality. The room itself was small but atmospheric. Easy parking and a nice pool area!

The price was a bit high for what it was. The bathroom in our room was located outside of the room. The bathroom needs to be renovated, it is dark and dank. Does not fit with the price or the other parts of this accommodation.

This was a return trip to Nizwa and this hotel. We really enjoyed the new swimming pool - most refreshing after a warm day out. Staff very helpful, nothing was too much trouble. Breakfast on the terrace was a delightful way to start the day. Evening buffet was very tasty. Our room was comfortable - but they are NOT your usual hotel room - for example no wardrobe, but a trunk. Bathroom was a bit basic, but did what we needed it to do! Nizwa has much to offer in terms of location - the Friday Goat market is well worth a visit. I certainly hope to return.

Our room window was next to the steps which smokers used to sit on late at night. There are seats provided away from the hotel but our co-guests didn't walk to them.

Location great, 2mins walk to Nizwa Fort & Nizwa Souq Friendly and helpful staff, feel extremely welcomed Free parking in front of, but super tight narrow road with unclear signs, unfriendly for big car or new license ( ps there’s Nizwa souq parking around seems more convenient ) Our stay with the outside private bathroom it was OK, limited space but very stylish decorated. We had breakfast and charged also for dinner, it served by local food, nice delicious but could be even better if more options.

It an antique style, truly there’s some inconvenience but for short stay is totally Ok & enjoy it.
