We had a really lovely stay at Le Foyer! We arrived early in the morning after our night bus and were allowed to check in straight away since our room was ready - which made a HUGE difference for us! Our room was well sized with a great balcony, and we were given the option to have breakfast there if we preferred. The laundry service was well-priced and speedy. Rooftop bar had a great selection of food at very reasonable priced, and had a great view over the city. Tasty breakfast options. Free coffee available all day. Plenty of options available for organised trips. Fab location only 5 mins walk from the main square. All the staff were really welcoming too - thank you all!

Can't fault it

the breakfast was amazing for the cost and for extras it was very affordable. The location is amazing and near the plaza de armas, i booked all my tours through there and they were all amazing except for the campiñas tour which i didn’t really need to do because the other tours covered off similar things. The staff helped me with everything I needed from the time i booked with them, helping me organise tours. They helped me cancel a tour after i got back from the colca canyon and was too dead to wake up super early the next day, rhey even whatsapp’ d me afterwards to see if i wanted to have breakfast in my room, very sweet gestures. they give you a little baggy snack to take if you miss out in breakfast cos you’re leaving early for a tour. they were very quickly available on booking.com chat to help with any concerns i had. They are a very hewed working group of people so i appreciated them helping me every step i needed them. My balcony was gorgeous & so is the terrace that you have breakfast on. there are toilets and showers for you to access outside the rooms if you need to after you check out and they will hold your luggage.

if you book a balcony room the outside noise can be quite loud but this is not the fault of the hotel, i have experienced this in almost every hotel i’ve stayed at in south america.

The location is great, close to main Plaza. Great value for your money, the hotel also offers tours and assistance with getting a taxi . There is always someone at the reception desk. Very clean bedding and sheets and pillowcase. Firm mattress. Very friendly and helpful staff.

Very very thin walls. Little noisy but nothing unbearable if your used to city traffic. Room was clean except the shower curtain needed to be changed or washed. It would be great if some rooms had a mini fridge or microwave.

What a place! We arrived at 5 am from Ica, and after many hours on the bus, we thought we would have to wait for check-in until 1 pm. We went to the hostel to drop off our things, hoping we could stay around until some places in the city opened and store our luggage. Josuè, without us asking, told us that we could sleep upstairs in the closed area until we had our room and that we could use all the facilities! He even said it’s not a problem to have breakfast on that day, as we were leaving early the next day. He was super welcoming. He also informed us that we could get our room earlier, and we actually did, 5 hours before the advertised check-in time! The room was clean and pleasant, the breakfast was very nice, and the views from the rooftop were great. We even got a take away snack pack and water as a gift when leaving super early! Would definitely come back. A very nice hostel, and Josuè definitely went above and beyond. Can’t be more grateful. Thank you! Klaudia & Carl

Very good location near the Plaza Mayor of Arequipa. Good room with table for laptop. Bathroom and shower OK. Cold and hot water always available (not obvious in Peru). Very good breakfast included. Breakfast is served on a terrace with nice view of the town. On the same terrace is also possibile to eat at the hotel restaurant. At the reception it's possible to book very nice tours in the region of Arequipa.

Wi-Fi was not always working. Our room had no window and the climate inside was always very hot and humid.

We stayed 2 nights the room from downstairs that doesn’t have a window and 1 night in a normal one. Both of them were very clean and comfortable, I would say it’s good value for money, especially with the breakfast included. Not everyone from the staf speaks english, but they are helpful. The view from the rooftop is very nice and the location is perfect during the day. During the night it can be a bit scary because of the surrounding club and bars, but it’s ok. All and all, pleasant experience.

It’s a very nice place to stay for a couple of nights. There is a beautiful sunset terrace where you can grab a drink and enjoy the awesome view. Amazing location too! The stuff is incredibly nice, always smiling and happy to help. The communication with Le Foyer has been excellent prior to arriving to Arequipa. They helped us with getting a taxi, with the early check out and also gave use a breakfast bag to carry with us when we left which was just the cherry on top. Excellent!

It does get a bit noisy but nothing that can’t be fixed with earplugs.

it had lots of plants which made it look more cozy and friendly, it was clean and it had really nice natural light

it had lots of stairs, my mom has arthritis and she had to put extra efforts to go up and down throught the whole facility, also it would be really good if the people attending would know a little bit of english: I'm a native spanish speaker from Perú but I saw multiple times that the forgeiners didn't knew what some things on the menu of the facilities meant and the staff didn't knew how to manage it because they didn't knew english :(

Le Foyer Arequipa is situated very close to Plaza de Armas, only two blocks far from here, so it is very nice to visit this beautifull square in the evening. The stuff is very friendly a still is trying to help you or clean all the hostel. There is a very nice terrace with amazing view on the center of Arequipa. Wifi was so fast to settle all emails and necessary things.

If you ordered some half day trip leaving hostel at 6 a.m. you would have a bad luck with breakfast which starts at 6:30. You was given only to some breakfast package. I would recomend to the hostel instead of still cleaning corridors, rooms .. either send anybody to prepare breakfast earlier or to close the bar at noon for one hour and open terrace for breakfast earlier. I´m sure your guests would appreciate it very much.

Central location, very helpful staff and an excellent left luggage service for trekking. There was noise into the night coming from the surrounding area, but unlike previous reviews this did not keep us awake and besides noise in the central areas of the cities in Peru is par for the course. Great views of the sunset from the rooftop bar.

The salad breakfast was a little Spartan, but other breakfasts were sufficient and the fact that they made us a goodie bag on the morning of our trek (3am departure) was a nice surprise.
