The room was spacious. My balcony was nice with pretty flowers. Breakfast was good. The location was convenient. The staff was very helpful storing my luggage before and after my stay. They also did my laundry.
I booked this location for the river outside the balcony as I wanted some white noise to fall asleep easier. Well, there was construction going on outside which meant there was no water. I wish they had let me know in advance. Also some language barriers (I speak limited Spanish). I would stay here again though as the construction is temporary.

Needed a few days of clean green & not moving. Loved this little property & UNESCO town in mountains. Its just a short train ride to MP. Perfect stay. Right in center but quiet. Had 2nd floor Delux King. Large room overlooking gardened running river area and Historical site. Very clean property. Modernised room comfy huge bed with 2 relaxing chairs. Large shower. Front desk guys were very helpful. Upgraded Pervian Breakfast. Fruit yoghurt buns eggs cheese ham tomato Avacado juice coffee etc. Great location a min to everything. Next door one way chemist otherside a Local shop 50m to Square and wait for it. Just across tiny Bridge was the best restaurant in our 3 month trip. APU Veronica. Train is a straight 10 min walk or a 2 dollar taxi ride straight down hill outside front door. Easy to do sites in Sacred Valley from here. Just grabbed a local driver to bring us up direct from hectic Cusco. About 45US.
Nothing. Had a great stay

This family-run hotel was a great place to be located for four nights. My mom and I stayed in the Family Room which gave us extra space, the water was hot and water pressure was great, and breakfast was delicious! The hotel had filtered water for free so you could fill up your water bottles, and they were super helpful in getting us a taxi from Ollantaytambo to Cusco when we headed out. The beds were great, too. If you're on the fence about the sacred valley, definitely do it! Ollantaytambo was such a beautiful, ancient town, and Sol Ollantay is very central. Everywhere my mom and I ate was about a three minute walk away, and you are only a 7 minute walk from incredible Inca ruins.
My only comment is that, since we had a room right on one of the external greenspaces/sitting spaces, we did have some little sugar ants that made their way into my snack bag. It ended up being fine, and it's truly sometimes just part of the deal, but ants are never fun. This could probably have been avoided if we kept the window shut but we wanted some fresh air. There was a heater in the room but no fan, and even in the winter it gets hot in Peru :)

Great central location with beautiful views to the ruins and mountains and lovely river flowing beside the accommodation. Our room was a good size & reasonably quiet and the bed was extremely comfortable. We loved hearing the river flowing at night & loved our little balcony where we could enjoy the view. Friendly staff. Able to book taxis and tours & a transfer from Cusco airport. Breakfast was delicious. The bread rolls are so tasty and we could toast them and make delicious sandwiches with avocado, tomato, ham and cheese. Bliss! There were other breakfast options along with great coffee and fruit. I couldn’t think of a better place to stay in this town. We stayed an extra night here instead of Cusco - no regrets.

Ideal location for visiting Machu Picchu, so close to the Ollantaytambo train station from where you can take the earliest train to Aguas Calientes. The breakfast was delicious. The room was spacious and modern.
The staff ignored our request for a transfer from Cusco. It also said we would have a breakfast packed early in the day we need to leave before breakfast time but no one was even at the reception. We eventually found it in a corner when we were trying to find someone to open us the door.

Location was great, we received a room with direct view to the famous steps/temple of Ollantaytambo. Room was veey spacious, perfectly heated for the winter time. Hot water running, big screen tv and everything you needed, 1 step away as you went outside. They also prepared breakfast to go for us, as we were leaving early - thanks to the staff!
Internet connection didn't work so well. They had an electricity outage for half a day in the entire town, but even after that got fixed, the internet worked poorly, so I don't think it was connected.

We chose Sacred Valley to acclimate to the altitude and needed to catch a train there for our 104km marker Inca Hike starting point. Unbeknownst to us before arriving, Ollantaytambo town is an amazing living history Inca town with many of the streets and structures still with original stones and walls. The Sol Ollantay hotel is excellently located, just 1 block away from the main square, an easy walk to shops and restaurants and an easy walk to the train station. We found an excellent laundry nearby and they recommended a restaurant (not in the main square) that was so good we went there twice. They were able to accommodate our group of 10. Derek the manager spoke very good English and I was able to correspond with him via Whatsapp to make sure our accommodations were confirmed. He also arranged transportation for us from the Cusco Airport. Breakfast buffet was included with a good variety of food options. The second morning we left for the train at 6am, so they provided us with a boxed breakfast. The hotel has a nice lounge area in the center courtyard of the hotel. We left our luggage while on our 2-Day Inca trek to Machu Picchu/Aguas Calientes and then picked our luggage up on our way back to Cusco.
We didn't realize that water is in short supply due to drought. On our first night they turned off the water about midnight. My husband was not happy with this as he had no water for a shower. After contacting Derek he was able to turn the water back on for us. Not a big deal, but the hotel should have alerted us so we could plan accordingly. Sol Ollantay Hotel and Sol Miranda Hotel are both operated out of the Sol Ollantay registration desk. Our first night's stay was in Sol Miranda Hotel. They moved us to a nicer room in Sol Ollantay for our second night. Some of our travelers preferred not to move and were fine to stay a second night in the Sol Miranda Hotel.

Certainly! "I recently had the pleasure of staying at Sol Ollantay, and it was truly an excellent experience. From the moment I arrived, the staff was warm and welcoming. The ambiance of the hotel is charming, and the attention to detail in the decor adds to the overall inviting atmosphere. The rooms are not only comfortable but also impeccably clean, providing a perfect retreat after a day of exploring. The amenities provided were top-notch, and the breathtaking views from the room were an added bonus. What sets Sol Ollantay apart is the exceptional service. The staff goes above and beyond to ensure your stay is memorable. They are knowledgeable about the local area, offering valuable recommendations and ensuring you make the most of your time in Ollantaytambo. The hotel's restaurant serves delicious cuisine, and the breakfast spread is diverse and delectable. Additionally, the location is convenient, allowing easy access to key attractions. In conclusion, my stay at Sol Ollantay exceeded expectations. The combination of outstanding service, comfortable accommodations, and a delightful ambiance make it the perfect choice for anyone visiting Ollantaytambo. I left feeling content and would highly recommend this hotel to fellow travelers."

Location. Our Kingsize Bedroom on second floor with view of the Ollantay Ruins. Love the breakfast spread and the dining room set up. The hotel environment is so inviting. Love the indoor plants. The staff were kind. Derek the manager, took care of our concern as promised. We had packed breakfast to go for an early morning train ride to next destination handed to us by Derek.
It was a challenge in the beginning with communication but Google translate helped. On check in we discovered there was no hot water for shower. It was frustrating after a long day of travel and finally settling in to bathe and relax and find out there was no hot shower. But the staff attempted to resolve the issue. Derek, the Manager addressed the issue while he was off site and we communicated through WhatsApp, and resolved the issue within the promised time. Overall the stay was fabulous. If the water issue was not resolved, we were also given the option to checkout for a refund. Glad it didn't have to go that way. The dislike was temporary. Went away as soon as the hot shower came.
