The owners and the staff are AMAZING and VERY ACCOMMODATING. The prices aren't bad for their location. They're not as expensive as El Nido. The area is constantly being cleaned and kept organized. Their food is good and the view is mesmerizing.

This is truly fantastic place and off the beaten path place to chill out for few days.. It has the nicest most helpful staff who make the stay so enjoyable and are great chefs. Can do anything you like for activities, but also just do nothing. There is a dive location next door, so if to that, can view the manatees. The food is very good, especially try the crab. Great Internet. Can do a mermaid photo shoot if are into that. Watch the loyal fishermen - nice chairs to relax. Good drinks. We took a bus from Port Barton to the closet station at turn off - and from there it's about 1 hour by TukTuk, or less than 30 minutes by a van that can be booked.

Words won't do justice to how beautiful and enchanting my stay was at this heavenly resort. The surrounding nature, clean pristine beach, and waters at this resort are a treasure. Staying in the bungalow by the beach for 14 nights added to my experience, making it one to cherish and keep for life. Not to forget that it is a great way to learn how to live with nature. The bungalow nonetheless was excellently equipped with plugs, full shower, and clean, well maintained bedding. The great food, music, facilities, smiling faces, happy curious travellers, the golden sand, cutest dogs, Sune & Dina residing at the resort were the cherry on top. Most importantly, the team and the owners who have focused so greatly on making this resort feel like home completely delighted me. They care and are passionate about providing an authentic experience. The island hoping, snorkeling around the magnificent coral reefs were unforgettable, the hikes deep into the nearby village and beyond the hanging bridge into the deep jungle, was an absolute expedition into the wild, and I felt like Indian Jones on one of his adventures. Rich culture and nature of Palawan is an experience I will always be grateful for. What helped me explore all this was the fact that the resort staff had good knowledge of everything around the area and the logistics to support a solo traveller like myself.

We visited Mecaja with a family of four (boys age 6 and 9) for 12 nights. There was plenty to do during our stay (Snorkeling, Island hopping, van trips to Roxas, Mangrove experiences). Mecaja exceeded our expectation in every aspect, it's like a little piece of paradise on earth that is at your disposal and you can decide what you want to do with it. Staff were amazing especially Grace, Jenny, Jonathan, Dong, Scuba Master, chefs and boat captains. Thank you everyone for sharing your home with we definitely felt as part of the family! Mecaja a is very well looked after establishment and so much hard work goes into running this place every day by all members of the staff but also the management. We also had the privilege to meet the owner and the wider family from Sweden, it was great to have many interesting conversations with everyone. Mecaja was an amazing place to visit and we will definitely return.

Most guests who visited Mecaja during our stay were friendly and approachable, there was a couple from Marco who didn't engage with anyone and they didn't even say hello to us or to others (some people just think that they are better than the others). Sandflies were present when there was no wind during some evening so ensure you take some "OFF" repellent with you just in case.

Location truly amazing although a little bit of a trek off the main road - worth it for this little gem.

I went on a number of dives. The collection and organisation of the equipment was not good - equipment was in boxes unorganised and some looking quite worn... 1st dive was a night dive; upon entering the water the regulator was so severely chewed I could not grip with my teeth - I ended up using octopus for the entire dive. 2nd dive no hiccups or issues, but wary... 3rd dive quickly realised regulator was not working properly and expelling additional air, tolerated for a while then alerted divemaster who eventually fixed, in all only cutting dive short... Feel the equipment needs looking at and organising. Divemaster knowledgeable and nice guy - but equipment and organisation lacking I learnt a valuable lesson - BWRAF should be performed on land not on the sea

This resort is off the big roads which comes with the advantage that you are embedded in a Filipino neighborhood. You have a nice stretch of beach. And the bungalows are basic but I found them better than the houses. The restaurant is ok but don’t expect a rich menu. Breakfast was ok but included. The staff is really nice and helpful and you can do some tours with them. The island hopping was a great experience. They organize also taxi to places in Palawan.

Remote means there is really nothing else like restaurants around. And basically only one road to the left across the walking bridge and one to the right. No other restaurants to try. I paid in US dollars but the rate was very bad (15% commission). But since you have no ATM around I had to agree.

My friend and I stayed 5 nights at Mecaja. (We would have stayed longer if we could have.) This property was absolutely beautiful and had many places for seating right next to the water to enjoy the views of the ocean and the mountains. Pina, Me Me, and all the rest of the staff is so kind, approachable, and attentive. The food at the restaurant is very good so we ate most of our meals on the property. The property also offers many activities which we liked a lot and we did the Island Hopping tour which was a great experience that I would recommend to all.

Absolutely perfect! Just a little peace of paradise :). Grace, Pina and the rest of the Team are just lovely und try to help you with everything :). There were no sandflies, neither jellyfish when I was there. Maybe its a seasonal thing.

If you are traveling with public transport, make sure to organize your way coming down there a few days in advance. It can be a little bit difficult or better say expensive, if you arrive in new cuyo late (I paid 300 to come down with a scooter). Just let them now, when you need to be picked up at the new cuyo street corner and they will organize it for you.

We were looking for a peaceful and nice location before we leave the Philippines. After hectic streets of El Nido, it was perfect place for it. Very decent food and beautiful views with opportunity to see marvellous sun rise. Great hosts as well. All our requests were fulfilled. Thank you very much.

Our house did not have AC. During night it was tough to sleep. My parents were living in the bamboo house and it was much better ventilated. I would stay there next time. However the lighting in the bamboo house was fairly poor, but we did not stay much in the room anyway. During the day it is far to walk to have a swim and potentially lots of rocks on the way. Located far away from the big towns or shops. Which is good and bad at the same time.
