This hotel is one of the most beautiful hotels we stayed. The view of the hotel was amazing, that as you exit your room, you can see the ocean in front of you and you can watch the beautiful sunset. Breakfast is not free as well as dinner but they have a restaurant, which is not expensive but high quality, we enjoyed our meals in the hotel restaurant. Room was very clean and spacious. Special thanks to hotel staff, they were very nice and helpful. In Oslob, visitors are not bound to hotels because there are many activities around. Very well known is swimming with whale sharks and this hotel is very close to this activity, less than 15 mins. Tumalog falls (10 mins) and monkey watching point (few mins) is very close too. Tumalog falls was closed because of low water level and for monkey watching you would visit earlier than 10 am. There are many waterfalls and many activities around Oslob and hotel provides assistance to all of them. It is also very close to town center too, this is important because there is a big pharmacy in case of need and a 7-eleven store in the town center, there is also a big open market, you can buy fruits. Although the hotel restaurant's food was very nice, if you want to taste something different you can try Le Bistrot Restaurant in the town center, it was very nice too, try mai mai fish with lemon and butter sauce. In order to arrive, you will get a bus from south bus terminal of Cebu, towards Oslob, it will take around 4 hours or less, and you will get off just in front of the hotel, you can return to Cebu same way, you can get the bus in front of the hotel. I think it was around 275 pesos. You can also get this bus to go to town center for 20 pesos, or you can use tricycles. The price of this hotel may be some higher than some hotels around this area, but it is a very reasonable price, and it is very clean and comfort as well as safe hotel with so friendly staff. It is a perfect choice for 2-3 nights stay in Oslob.

Lovely spot by the water. Million dollar views for sure. Waking up every morning with the sun rising and the blue waters ahead of you was magic. The staff were wonderful. We’re truly grateful for the service and kindness all the staff bestowed on us. We were a family group of 12 with kids, we ate breakfast lunch and dinner at the in house bar and restaurant and the team were so great. The kids enjoyed the access to the water and the tours organised were perfect. Just wonderful memories made at this place. Thanks everyone ! We look forward to returning again soon :)

Small hotel with all facilities nearby. Although the room appears dated, they were clean with room service coming in when you wanted. No doubt the best thing about Down South 118 is both the staff and the quality of food. We were treated as friends from arriving even being invited to the staff Christmas part where we received a small gift. We ate at the hotel every day and their freshly made food at all times was excellent. Well done to their young chef. The atmosphere at this hotel is brilliant No pool but a few steps took you into the water.

A little dated but the owners are working on getting it updated. A roof top bar was being built while we were there with absolutely no inconvenience to guests. Area is quite remote. Taxi needed for all activities (of which there were quite a few). Small town with very little shops to wander around

We spent 3 nights here and we absolutely loved it, the hotel is beautiful and so relaxing, the staff are incredibly friendly and helpful. The access to the ocean to snorkel etc was a highlight for us, although very shallow in the morning the sea does rise throughout the day. We wanted to catch a coach from Oslob - Cebu city and the staff wouldn’t let us wait for a bus, they stood outside for around 45 mins and flagged one down for us, which was amazing and shows how caring they are. There isn’t much to do outside the hotel, so we ate breakfast and dinner in the hotel everyday and cannot complain, the food was delicious and very reasonably priced. Would absolutely recommend to anyone! Thank you!

Purpose of booking here was swimming with whale shark. From Cebu Airport it was 4.5 hours drive. We organised our pickup airport shuttle through the hotel and the driver contacted us via WhatsApp the night before our arrival. The hotel is not walking distance from town and need to ride a tricycle which is 5 mins for 7 eleven and other eateries. The room is spacious, modern and clean. We booked 2 rooms for our family of 4 (2 adults and 2 teens), each room had a double bed and single bed. We had rooms on the ground floor which was perfect and amazing water views! Sunset and sunrise was picturesque! We had dinner at the hotel restaurant, even though it was on the pricier side, the sinigang was generous serving and was worth it. Restaurant also accepts card payment with 5% surcharge. Special mention to the great staff Edina and Marie who took good care of us through our stay. We also booked through the hotel for our whale shark tour which is so convenient. Only 15 mins ride via tricycle and the driver which is also our guide handled the check in process for the tour - we left the hotel at 7am, was swimming with the whale shark by 8am. Back in the hotel by 9am… swimming with the whale shark was one of the best experience ever! Gro-pro is a must to capture the memories. We then check out and booked through the hotel our taxi/shuttle to our next hotel at Moalboal. Tip - bring coffee sachet and conditioner as they don’t supply. There’s kettle to make your coffee.

Sewage smell after shower. This is just how it in the whole island. Hotel can’t control this. Just close the bathroom door at all times.

Amazing small hotel with super nice, friendly and caring staff and owner. We stayed 4 nights during Christmas. We had a chance to participate in Christmas party where I was invited to be one of the judges in their inner competition. It was my pleasure to be part of that event. After event all guest had a free dinner with rich variety of food and delicious cake. On that event I saw how caring is the owner to his staff, there was a feeling that they all are big family. A manager and all workers are super friendly and kind. I liked design of the room, it feels very cozy. Good variety of channels on TV and good WIFI( which is rare on Philippines). Also there is a nice view from all the rooms and restaurant. I recommend to everyone this hotel! 10 min drive from whaleshark btw.

The national Philippino food was very delicious on menu a specially sisig, but we didn't like the pizza. Pizza tastes like frozen from the shop, and price for pizza like that is a bit too high. Besides that sockets in the room wasn't really made for European devices (the holes where too big and we had to place the pillow under the socket, so it might hold the charger.) you have amazing terrace on the third floor and I believe you can use it and have the most from it ( for example yoga, gym, billiard, caraoke bar, spa or anything else what will make your hotel even better). There is always room for improve, so hopefully my feedback will be helpful. Greetings from LATVIA! WE HOPE TO COME BACK!

Everything was perfect. Clean, spacious and cozy room with modern furniture and comfy beds. Intimate hotel with only 10 rooms, all of them facing the sea and a very nice small restaurant with a beautiful sea view. There is no beach but you have access into the clean water in the front of the hotel. A very relaxing place. Great position in Oslob: only 5-7 minutes trycicle drive (at the price of only 30-50 pesos!) from the mall and restaurants in the city center; 15 minutes from whale shark watching and 20 minutes from Sumilon Island pier. And last but not least a very friendly and helpful staff. They arrange everything for you - transfers, trips etc. at lower prices than the tour operators are doing. We liked it so much that we decided to extend our stay with one more night. And we will definitely come back again.

Very good breakfast, wide selection (it is not buffet). Kind of expensive compared to restaurants and coffees though. Beautiful location, direct access to the ocean with stairs (perfect for swimming in high tide, very little water in low tide). Helpful by organising day tours and activities such as whale shark watching and Sumilon Sandbar/Day tour. Kind and understanding staff, helping where they can.

Good wifi, however once in a month they have wifi maintenance of which they don't know in advance (kind of inconvenient - we spent two days, from those two they did not have wifi for a whole day - very unlucky). Also if you know the activities you want to do, I recommend reserving at least a few days in advance as they tend to run out of available dates.

The hotel is located in a magical beachfront spot and is very close to the Whale Sharks. The staff were all friendly, polite and very helpful. The restaurant was excellent. It had an extensive menu and was inexpensive. The staff arranged day trips to the Whale Sharks and to four different waterfalls for us.

The hotel and rooms are next to the National Road which is very busy and noisy with cars, bikes and tricycles. The hotel is also in a semi-rural area with lots of roosters and chickens so you are woken early every day. The water pressure in the bathroom is also very low so the shower is not as refreshing as you’d like.

Everything :). We left Down South 118 feeling happy, refreshed, and with a heavy heart, having had such a lovely time. The location was incredible sitting literally right on the sea front, where having an early morning breakfast or an evening drink was stunning. The food was super and in comparison to Dubai - incredibly cheap. It was freshly cooked and always with minimal wait. The staff were very professional, kindly, and could not do enough for us. We will come back for sure and would recommend this lovely little hotel to everyone.

Nothing
