Lovely small hotel in the middle of Beja, a location which made getting about easy. The breakfasts were excellent - plenty of choice with foods typical to the region. Very, very friendly people (in fact, some of whom are the owners themselves) and all are really helpful. We would stay again without a doubt.

One just needs to be able to find the hotel without driving to the door because it is on a pedestrian street. Not a big issue.

The location is near the bus stop. The hotel is in pedestrian road which is a plus, quiet, and plenty of restaurants, castle, stores to visit. Breakfast had a variety of delicious fruits, eggs, coffee. The owner and family were very nice to us. One night we sat at the entrance of hotel (tables and chair available) to have wine we bought at a store, and they brought us cheese and cold cuts as complementary service. Rooms were clean and comfortable. We recommend this place!

Centrally located, this family owned hotel, pulls out all the stops to be helpful on every step of your stay. They simply could not be more helpful. Great breakfast!!!

The street on which the hotel is located is now pedestrianised but there is street parking 200 metres away - it’s free at weekends and from 6:00pm to 9:00am and only 2:40€ for 4 hours. The room did not have a safe for valuables.

The bed is comfortable. Nice, clean room with helpful staff. Location is perfect, walking distance to the castle and museum. There is a Supermarket ‘Pingo Doce’ nearby. The breakfast which was included was a very nice surprise for us. The breakfast buffet had a wide selection.

My room was facing a Bar which opened till midnight was a bit noisy. I was woken up by the noise once.

I stayed in this hotel at a very difficult time. We were travelling across Portugal from Sines to Ayamonte in Spain and my husband suddenly became ill during the car journey. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital in Beja, which was completely in the wrong direction for us. I had no option than to find a hotel at the last minute, as I was not allowed to stay with my husband. The hotel was perfect for my needs, clean and quiet, with a decent breakfast. Lovely sitting room area in which guests can relax. Under different circumstances I would have enjoyed my visit!

Room was tiny and had a window looking out on a light well, a bit claustrophobic, but ok for one night. In a pedestrianised area so no parking and I found it difficult to find a car park, I ended up leaving my car outside the hospital and walking there.

The hotel was perfect for what we needed! Location is superb, the staff was very nice and helpful. The room maybe a bit small for 2 persons but I was alone and also the bed very good! It was very hot but the airco in the bedroom worked wonderfully and one could sleep with no problem! Shower strong and all very clean. Breakfast very variated and comfortable seating! I would not hesitate to return!

I loved that the bed was enormous, the bathroom was nice. The coffee machine was amazing. The staff were really kind and helpful. The location was fine, many restaurants and a store are quite close so that's nice.

The room was quite dark. The cake for breakfast was still a bit frozen once but it was still nice.

Great staff, great breakfast, wifi excellent. Large comfortable bed and pillows. Nice balcony. Super clean rooms, parking very easy, just drive about , you will find one. Ours opposite a restaurant Pulo do Lobo, which we also had dinner at, and was excellent on the owners recommendation. Where can you stay and you can have cherry liquor and port on offer for free/. The 2 museums we went to , were both very good. A bar fridge a nice touch.

A lovely family run hotel right in Beja's shops and restaurants area, which is in a lovely, older part of town. There is even a warm and comfortable common room where you can sample some local and delicious drinks with nuts and a fire, while sat in a large comfy chair. I was there on a cold November evening, so this was so cosy to come back to after a meal out at a local restaurant. The hotel has a retro charm and the staff are all lovely, there is no elevator, which may be an issue for some travellers. I really liked the pictures of the family who run Hotel Bejense that can be seen as you walk down the stairs to reception. It reminds you that you in a family business not a corporate chain Hotel. Outside the door and up the front of the building is a beautiful, huge Bougainvillia which just looks stunning as you enter the Hotel. Breakfast was included and was a typically satisfying and filling continental type breakfast. I had a perfectly comfortable night's sleep. All in all I have only praise for Hotel Bejense and the family running it.

Perfect location in the heart of the city. Rustic, family style home feeling. I felt like we just arrived at grandma's house for a visit. Super friendly staff, with a fantastic breakfast the next morning.
