Clean. Comfortable. Good breakfast. Spacious.

It was FAR AWAY FROM PARKING! The owner did NOT communicate the issues with dropping off luggage until after booking (the would be NO CAR ACCESS AT ALL!) - no option was given to cancel the reservation! This was extremely difficult in my situation as a solo traveller with bad knees. I pared down my luggage so I could just carry what I needed for the night. The lock system on the individual room door was difficult. There was no desk clerk. I thought I was staying at a place that would have one….My concern was that I had no phone to use and no internet in the event that of problems with check in. Very disappointing!

Excellent location in heart of World Heritage Site. Historic character of building maintained + modern amenities.Excellent breakfast!

Coded access to building difficult to understand.

The location was amazing- right in the middle of the historic centre. It was really nice knowing you had somewhere to come back to if you got tired, needed a drink or wee! Check in was super easy and a really calming environment. The rooms were lovely and the communal spaces were also great- a lovely garden to chill in. Our main host was Cátia and she was so lovely- cooked an amazing breakfast basically tailored to the guest and was really accommodating in general. Happy for us to leave our bags and help wherever possible. (Additionally, everyone in Guimaraes is really lovely and helpful and we really enjoyed our time in the city!)

The kindest most caring staff imaginable. When I became ill we were lucky to be able to secure an extra night. Iola then went on a Sunday to a doctor and pharmacy to obtain medication for me. I cannot believe the kindness and care she gave me Casa do Juncal is also in the most perfect location in the Historic Centre but away from the noise and crowds. Both our rooms were delightful but the suite on the top floor was exceptional. Car parking nearby was easily accessed and inexpensive.

We were really pleased with our stay at Casa do Juncal. I always expect to be at least a little disappointed in a hotel or local accommodations, but that was not the case here. Checking in and out was very easy, staff were lovely and the place was attractive and spotless. The complementary breakfast was very nice and the dining room was pretty. The location is amazing.

The weather was rainy so we couldn't use the garden area, but I'm sure it's delightful on a warm sunny day

Please notice that this place is handeled by humans only til 14:00. I arrived afterwards so all interaction was through booking messages. it was fast and useful, but be aware of that. location is superb, 5 minutes walk from old town center,, and yet, has relativlely easy free parking on Camoes parking lot, about 400 meters away. strong WIFI signal. and good room facilities.

Breakfast was delightful, a lot of options and everything really fresh. The location is great for a walk around the city. The self check-in is extremely easy to deal with.

The information in the detail is a bit confusing, I believe it's something like "check-in after 8 is paid" however, we go there and everything was self-check in. The stairs to the bedroom are interesting, but not super great if you wake up in the middle of the night.

The location in "old town" was what we wanted. We did not expect the quality of the accommodations for the price. The remodeled old building was stunning inside. The staff was extremely helpful and competent. Breakfast was fresh and had enough variety to meet most tastes. The honor bar was a nice extra. The loading zone at the front door made bag drop off easy. A large parking ramp is only a short (safe) walk away. Their restaurant recommendations were excellent.

Google maps directs you to the door but it is hard to see from even a short distance away. That is the only thing I could write that is negative.

Breakfast was amazing, and the facilities are great. The mattress was perfect and really central. I was there just for 1 night to explore the area.

The only downside is that after 2pm there is noone in the hotel, so if you need anyhtign is almost impossible to get hold of them. I needed the wifi password (they didn't give it on check in) and I called, emailed and nothing. It took them hours to get back to me.

Good location, great breakfast.

My room had weird stairs to get to my bed, i. e. the bathroom was on one level, but the bed on a different level. If one is not young, one could easily break the legs when going to the bathroom at night.
