The territory of the hotel is amazing!! Totally worth to walk around. The hotel itself is like a museum too) The personnel speaks English (that is rare in Portugal) and very polite. The bar with fireplace at cool night is very cozy and quiet. In the room we found chocolates, some fruit and flowers - so many nice surprises)) We could see the whole city from above from our room window on the 5th floor - amazing view! I absolutely loved the hotel)

The breakfast was very basic in terms of variety of food. Could have been more fresh/cooked vegetables and fruit. And I expected to see the coffee machine, not the instant coffee made in the thermos. But the waitress brought us espresso when we asked for.

It is an incredible hotel at a good location. The rooms are spacious and sparkling clean. It offers the insights into amazing history of the place (noble rooms, backyard).

I was confused with the pool, i.e. we haven’t seen any nor there were any directions to it, nor anyone pointed us to it. The breakfast compared some other Pousadas was poor and repetitive. I mean, there was enough food to get full and it tasted good, but it was only the basics and not 5* worth. The content is pretty limited, but with a lot of potential for the future. The rooms on the second floor leave a feeling of a dungeon.

I loved everything about my stay at your gorgeous property! I have been telling people about how wonderful every thing was there, and have been recommending you to anybody who will listen to me! It was simply amazing to be able to stay in such an historical monument, and to freely walk around the beautiful gardens of such a special place The food and the service were exemplary, and I never wanted to leave the property! I could have stayed there for weeks. Truly a dream come true!

The rooms were a little Spartan for a luxury hotel, but nothing that I would complain loudly about. They were totally serviceable and suited us just fine. I would mention that the dining room was very hot for an Americans taste.

Our room was very clean, comfortable & spacious. We had a lovely view of the city of Guimaraes….sunsets & twinkling lights. The gardens around the Pousada are extensive & beautiful including water features, different types of gardens with paths & seating. Wonderful to walk or enjoy reading & relaxing on a park bench. All of the staff were welcoming, friendly & helpful. Breakfast was a delight with many choices. We had dinner one night in the dining room…very good, but if you didn’t want a full meal, there was a lounge with fireplace…light meals, drinks & snacks could be served.

The bathroom had a shower inside a bathtub which was awkward to get into. We would have preferred a stand alone shower.

fabulous views, large,spotlessly clean room, wonderful breakfast, friendly staff, very interesting old building, lovely little courtyard to sit and relax with a drink. the medieval village was lovely with lots of little cafes and restaurants in pretty squares, well worth the short walk down( taxi back) Lively peaceful, calm atmosphere, almost contemplative!

although very hot the pool area was closed so no access to sun umbrellas etc, the grounds and gardens have great potential but appear very run down and overgrown, the long stone corridors towards our room had patches of damp on the walls and were very uninviting, overall the hotel gave me the impression of “ not quite finished” with regard to its conversion to an hotel.

This place is amazing. but what makes it extra special is the staff. they are the best - super friendly and helpful. we had a couple of problems ( no one’s fault) that they solved with tact and efficiency. I truly felt a part of the family. The food was great, the rooms very comfortable, and. the grounds were beautiful. I liked it so much we extended a day and I wished we could have stayed longer.

my only concern was the entrances to the wheelchair ramps which were a little too abrupt. there were ramps wherever needed however. while the stair seat at the entrance wasn’t working they helped me up the stairs and carried up my cart. they were wonderful about helping me.

The grandeur and ellegance of building was amazing.The staff were very helpful and friendly.

Unfortunately the coffee seved at breakfast was terrible.Instant Nescafe.. We asked for a caffe a latte which was better but came luke warm. Cafe con Leche was then so strong it was undrinkable. For such a high quality Pousada I think they vould do better. The acyuall breakfast was delicious.

Comfortable beds, beautiful historic building, and an incredible breakfast buffet. We didn't use the pool but the views from the pool area were impressive. Gardens were very calming to stroll through.

Rooms were a bit small for the price point, which is to be expected in a monastery. On the day we departed, the hotel hosted an event which blocked all routes from our room to the elevator, forcing us to carry all our bags down the stairs to leave. There were many public spaces in the hotel, and they still chose to allow this event to use an incredible obtrusive area of the hotel. Clearly prioritize such large events over average travelers, which would give me a bit of pause over booking again.

Went with my friend and grandson and everything he needed pool food there ..I spent a lot time in the lovely room amazing views and totally private so was truly a break from my own four walls food bought to room .. completely private for me 💛💛💛 the best thing lots of space private and I could be in my room and watch him playing

I felt like royalty spending time in my own castle! The staff was wonderful, went out of their way to make you comfortable and happy. When I asked if there were books available in English, the manager went out of his way to take me to a bookcase and pointed out a few books he had particularly enjoyed. Being an avid reader, I found this charming! I enjoyed the comfortable bar and lobby area and had a very good hamburger there.
