This was a brilliant hotel in every respect. Elegant, calm, beautifully designed and in an excellent location in the heart of Lisbon. It’s equidistant between two Metro stops and close to major sights and areas (Alfama, Chiado, Barrio Alto) but in a less touristy area and quieter street, which made for a good night’s sleep. We were warmly welcomed from the moment we arrived from a very early flight, and invited to have complimentary refreshments in the lovely 2nd floor guest lounge area. What a delight to be in such beautiful historic surroundings (the tiles!) with stylish modern furniture added - and a gorgeous view of the castle walls from the windows. Our room (a superior double) overlooking the city to the rear was supremely comfortable, spotlessly clean, spacious, and quiet, with brilliant aircon (which we desperately needed during the heatwave!) and a small but well designed bathroom with an excellent rainfall shower. Breakfast was fresh, with lots of choice, and well presented. We stayed for 4 nights, and it was a pleasure coming back every afternoon to rest and recharge and escape the heat. The 24- hour complimentary tea, coffee, fresh fruit and pastry snacks (savoury and sweet) are a fantastic touch, and really made the hotel feel like our oasis in the city. Most especially, everyone we encountered on staff was incredibly helpful and polite. Would absolutely stay here again and recommend it highly, especially for those seeking a stylish and calm stay.

Breakfast and range of afternoon snacks might have been more varied (we stayed 5 days) but this is a very minor point.

The place is very nice, in a charming building with a modern/chic atmosphere. The location is excellent, within walking distance of the historic centre. The rooms are spacious, very quiet and super comfortable. The view in the rooms and in the breakfast room is also very nice.

You need to 'book' your breakfast in advance, which is a bit annoying specially when there is no spots left in the time you would normally have it.

Location is great and very convenient, you are at the center but also away from the tourist crowd and noise. Escalator to castle is just across the hotel, and city center is 3-5 mins walking distance. Rooms are spacious and well decorated, and have everything you might need. Breakfast is very delicious and has many selections, also has 24/7 open coffee and tea corner with delicious pastries. Lastly hotel staff - always smiling and ready to help, very friendly. In short - it was our first time visiting Lisbon and we were very happy with our stay.

The breakfast was great, many choices, and a lovely room to eat in! The staff was very friendly and helpful. Shout out especially to Victor and Vasco! Both of them were very kind and knew us by sight and name after our first meeting and went above and beyond to make sure we had a good stay. The location of the hotel was really good, there was a grocery store and elevator right across the street and another elevator a block away making access to the sights very easy and walkable! I would definitely stay at the Memoria Lisboa again!

If your room is on the front, you might hear some traffic but not too bad.On the flip side, its a very easy spot for Ubers or taxis to pick you up or drop off.

Room 104, first, floor, back facing and high enough above the street to be quieter as we were concerned that the front-facing rooms might be noisy. There was a small balcony which we were worried wouldn't get any sun but it got plenty from afternoon to early evening. Our room was reasonably big. I acknowledge what's been said about the bathroom door being tight but in these older buildings, it's difficult to make modifications. The hotel building is gorgeous though - very old with some original features and a bright breakfast room and elegant lounge. Breakfast was amazing - 3 types of freshly baked bread, pastel del nata, savoury pastries, cheese, ham, tomatoes, cucomber, hard boiled eggs, fresh fruit salad, yoghurt, granola, cornflakes, a toaster, fresh coffee and a selection of teas and more. We totally loved the staff, all of them but especially Senor Vasco who was the ultimate customer-service representative -I work in customer service so I speak from experience. He was warm, friendly, proffessional and helpful. Give him a promotion or pay rise please. In fact we hope you pay all your staff well because they're doing an amazing job.

The location was amazing for exploring the city. It was close to lovely bars and restaurants and also transport like buses, trains and tuk tuks. Having explored every area of Lisbon we could find no better base. The breakfast was also lovely. The staff were polite and friendly and the scrambled eggs were delicious. The breakfast room was calm and quiet and provided the perfect start to the day. The room faced the street but was so quiet. When we left the lovely lady on reception ordered us a taxi and helped us with our bags. If you visit Lisbon please stay here as you won’t be disappointed.

The room was lovely but we do like a coffee in bed as we’re coming around. Not a problem if you take a travel kettle. The room was spacious and stunningly decorated but some frosted glass would be welcome in the bathroom.

Excellent buffet with scrambled or fried eggs on request. Some buffet items left out for consumption past lunch time and cake served everyday at 16:00. We were very happy. I also was pleased to find many options that worked for me as a diabetic. Walking distance from the center of Lisbon as well as the river front. Location is really excellent. You do have to walk up a hill to get to the hotel from either direction. But hill are part of the charm of Lisbon.

Elevator only accesses 3 out of four floors, so 2 rooms lack elevator access. They are aware of this and carried our bags up and down as a matter of course. On the other hand, we loved the view from the modest size window in our 4th floor room, which was also exceptionally quiet.

I am so much with love the indoors of the hotel - full of beautiful azulejo. And I am helplessly in love with the salon where breakfast takes place - there is the perfect sunlight, Bosanova is playing on the background. Breakfast is modest but more than sufficient and qualitive. Stuff is nice and helpful. Particular like for the reusable bottles for water, juices and ceramic cups for butter and jam - the hotel does fulfill the promise to act sustainably.

It's not a complaint, just a notice that the bed might feel Differently for different people. For me it was okay, for my husband- a bit uncomfortable.

From the moment we arrived all the staff were very polite and welcoming, especially Lara and Victor. Lara was always friendly and happy to chat and couldn't have done any more to make us feel welcome and nothing was too much trouble. She provided helpful information and recommendations. The hotel itself is situated in a central location and was clean, comfortable and had nice decor and ornamental features that one would expect from a boutique hotel..

It would have been nice if they had varied the breakfast offering and if we had had tea/coffee making facilities in our room. However, this would not deter me from staying at the Memoria Lisboa again.

Fantastic location, very central to public transport and restaurants. Excellent breakfast in beautiful room, need to reserve timeslot. Very clean and quiet. Historic building with original staircase and small library in communal sitting room. Had two small lifts which were very helpful for luggage. Upgraded to larger room for second part of our stay which was wonderful and we were able to store our larger suitcases there which was very helpful whilst we had a few days on Porto. Lisbon is hilly so take comfortable non slip shoes, the pavement can be slippery when wet.

Nothing, everything was great for a smaller boutique hotel.
