wonderful location, clean, wonderful atmosphere and food, very friendly staff

no elevator to our room which meant repacking in car to take up small hand luggage; you advertise that it is a thermal hotel, which is misleading since the thermal facilities are completely separate from the hotel. and they are also antiquated.

Public free parking in the vicinity of the hotel. Friendly staff. Helpful receptionists. Nice breakfast. Clean rooms. Quiet location. Average size outdoor pool. Kids pool. Dinner buffet (traditional Portuguese) with live music.

While the place looks great and is purposed to provide a 5 star experience, there were some hickups during our stay that revealed lack of optimal supervision from the management. We hope they were random incidents. To the management: when you find out that there is something wrong with the kitchen and this has led to a 1-2 hour delay in the orders while 15 tables are still waiting to get served the least you can do is apologize to your customers. Maybe it is better to stick to buffet dinner only, because it seems to work better for both the kitchen and the customers.

Firstly, the location is beautiful and the cluster of buildings/rooms around the squares gorgeous. The pool area is also lovely. The hotel has an amazing, cool, shared living area next to an open reception area. Reception staff are lovely, friendly and helpful. Our room was clean, comfortable and relatively spacious but short on sockets. An easy chair in our room would have been nice. Breakfasts were great but we didn’t have dinner in the hotel. There is a bar in the square which sadly closed at 6pm that served great coffee, drinks and lunch style meals, plus a hotel close by that did simple dishes for dinner

This is a delightful place to stay, very relaxed, very quiet. Staff particularly helpful and interesting, we just loved it and would have stayed on longer if it had not been full for the next few days.

Just one thing was that we found it difficult to find, we went well past it at first and had to come back. I should have phoned them earlier as after a couple of calls they got us on the right track. Perfect English with receptionist and lots of the staff

All environment was fantastic! romantic and cozy, the little old city is fabulous!

I did not understand why I could not booking the spa and hotel together directly from the website. The communication in the main websites were confuse for me. At least I did it but I pay more and I did have the treatment that I have aspired. Also, on the elegant restaurant that I booked to celebrate my affiance birthday I had to sit beside a costumer with flip flop and shorts! no nice at all!!! maybe dress code would be good to maintain the high standard of the place!

Location, pool and it had a nice luxury feel to it. Quite and relaxing and the grounds were lovely.

With in the immediate vicinity there was no other restaurants and bars within walkable distance. The hotel bar closed at 6pm. At lunch time the restaurant had no other beer other than stout, and although the food we had was good quality the service from the kitchen was very slow and it wasn't busy.

Beautiful room although a bit of a walk from the restaurant. The restaurant food was a little disappointing. Shame that our Xmas meals weren’t in the main restaurant (with fire, tree etc) but in the breakfast room. The room itself was gorgeous as was the location. But if not driving there are not many buses and it’s a long walk to the town. There are some restaurants nearby but all a walk.

The hotel is located in the thermal area of Monchique, a very quiet area with several hotels. The room was bright and very quiet (the bar and restaurant close at 10 p.m.). The breakfast is really plentiful and very assorted.

the directions to get to the hotel are not clear and the signs on the road do not help. During dinner, the turnover of the buffet for the choice of entrees was very slow and it was not always possible to find everything.

We received upgrade to Central hotel and room was clean, with small living room with Delta coffee machine, own bathroom and bedroom. We enjoyed breakfast and water from closed water factory is supplied normally on tap in rooms.

Cleaning service was coming very late, around 5pm which was time we returned from trips
