I had a fantastic stay in this little charming hotel. It is located perfectly directly at the beach with gorgeous view to the famous lighthouse (for sunsets !) and over the complete beach, and located at the beginning of the beachpromenade with all nice restaurants, shops and the ‚old‘ part of Nazare with its little alleys right around the corner. What I loved -besides the amazing location and breathtaking view-was the nostalgic charme of my room with old wooden planks on the floor and on the ceiling, the nostalgic ceiling lamp, the wooden window shutters …like a leap back in time. And the room all bright and flooded with light. As well the bathroom is not modern but nostalgic, but everything was working well. Everything in the room was spotless clean and functioning. The bed was comfortable and despite the central location, at night it was very quiet. All staff were superfriendly and helpful and made me feel welcomed&at home. I loved every minute and am already planning my next stay there.

Picked this hotel because of the close proximity to beach and attractions/shopping/restaurants. The ocean was right there outside of our window. The management and staff are more than helpful/friendly. The breakfast included was great.

The hotel is a heritage/older hotel, so it's to be expected that furniture etc won't be brand new or of a modern styling. But the basics need to work and be comfortable. The shower was a square foot tub/basin with sliding doors and an adjust bar/hose clip setup that was barely workable. I literally was trying to fix it as I attempted to shower but hose wouldn't stay secure and clip was loose/broken. The mattress was very old and I felt every spring/lost sleep. Invest a bit more and improve those basics and I'd have been a lot happier.

The location of this hotel is wonderful. We walked from the bus station in an easy and flat 10 minutes. It's at the north end of the strip so it's close to the funicular that takes you up the cliff for more wave-watching. The hotel itself is older and has its own charm. The breakfast room is really nice with a great view of the beach. Breakfast was "continental" with a good selection of fresh bread, buns, and croissants, ham, cheese, good juice, good coffee. We had the ocean side room, also with a fantastic view. I thought I might not like the street noise but it was very quiet at night (in October).

The toilet in our room gave off an unpleasant, sewer smell. We left the window open which helped a lot. The walls are a bit thin so you can hear people talking, but our neighbours weren't bad. The bed was firmer than I like so I can't say it was very comfortable.

The old-world charm of the hotel on the beach, with french doors opening to views of the ocean and beautiful sunsets were wonderful. The lovely tiled bathroom was a pleasure, and the many windows brought in fresh air.

It would have been better to have two keys for the room, as my friend and I often went different ways during the day and had to coordinate meeting to get back into the room. We were only allowed one key. The room smelled a little musty - it would be good to air it out before visitors arrive.

Miguel at the front desk was amazing. He went out of his way to help me plan my itinerary and called up numerous tour and taxi companies on my behalf. It felt like I had my own personal travel agent helping me plan everything. He was a wonderful host.

Facilities were basic. No elevator.

Location incredibly perfect! The beach was right there, and shopping and restaurants/night life. Our room was quaint and charming, traditional Portuguese we felt like - Portuguese tiles in bathroom, beautiful!! The hotel restaurant was excellent! Excellent breakfast in beautiful setting with beach right there! Erica was excellent at Front Desk, so helpful, professional, spoke English for us and treated us like family! All the staff was great!! Smiles everywhere! We will definitely go back, considering longer term even since so nice!!

The location is awesome! To see the ocean from the window is stunning. Comfortable beds. The overall design of the rooms and bathroom is like from the 18th century, I love that kind of thing. The staff is very nice. I will definitely come back here again. This is the best hotel I have stayed in Portugal. Everything is flawless, don't change a thing
