This was our absolute dream vacation, and a big part of it was the Villa Alcaide. Everybody that works there was so nice and helpful. The rooms were decorated simple but element. The bed frames were absolutely gorgeous! We were 2 minutes away from the Beach and everything else, we used an Uber to get there. The Breakfast selection was great, and it was nice eating by the pool every morning. We felt at home at Villa Alcaide and we can't wait to go back!! Thank you to everybody from the Villa Alcaide Team for the Amazing stay.

nothing - everything was perfect!

The rooms in the Villa Alcaide are pleasant and clean - the Villa is on the older side, but it's all kept well (especially the garden). The hotel offer very tasty breakfasts, as well as beach towels to their guests (both of which were a nice surprise to us), it also has a pool. The rooms have air condition, and are equipped with everything you might need.

The bathroom was a bit small, and got steamy really fast - it could have used a bit of ventilation, but it's just a tiny remark.

The facilities were very comfortable. The pool area is big and well-maintained, with lots of loungers as well as a covered area with seating. You can purchase drinks and snacks from the onsite bar. The gardens around the hotel are beautiful and the beach is only 500m walk from the hotel. The rooms were very spacious and well looked after, and the bathroom was very large.

Nothing - wonderful place to stay!

The location is great if you are looking for a calm place near the beach and don’t mind it’s far from the city center. We stayed in a villa which was in fact a former living house, with a small cozy garden terrace

The smell inside the room was a bit “old furniture”. But with open window gets ok in few minutes. The old shower, not very comfortable with the bathtub

Pedro and the team gave us exceptional service on our trip to The Algarve. The rooms were thoroughly cleaned every day and we were kindly asked by the staff if we wanted this service each day. Nothing was ever too much trouble and this meant that we could enjoy ourselves with everything running smoothly. Lots of choice for breakfast and it was delicious! We stayed in a room at Villa Alcaide and also in the hotel room. The villa rooms have more character with traditional furnishings, while the hotel rooms are modern, more minimalist and have roomier modern bathrooms. The property has a lovely pool and outdoor seating areas for quiet relaxation. Excellent buffet hreakfast . Easy short walk to a fabulous beach.

It was all good..

In general this 2 star hotel is deserving of a higher rating. The staff, breakfast, pool, facilities and appearance of the hotel is superb. The location is fantastic, literally 5 minutes walk to the beach. Easy bus links to both Alvor and Portimao about 15 minutes each way. I would definitely stay here again (just not in our room)

Our room. More like a dungeon really. Little light provided by just one window with no view of anything worth seeing. Simply a room with a bed. Nowhere to sit. No balcony. A serious trip hazard to the bathroom. A pointless 2 inch step which both my partner and I tripped over (and could seriously injure someone less lucky one day).

The property was even nicer than the picture show, the place is absolutely gorgeous and the staff and exceptional. The breakfast and amenities were also outstanding. Will be looking to book again.

I really liked everything about this hotel! It is a smaller hotel, which I prefer, with a big heart! The staff were always friendly, positive and helpful. The location was super --- a very short walk from the lovely beach, but still far enough away "from the madding crowd" to enjoy a very peaceful stay here. I was happily surprised about having booked the villa vs the hotel! All one bldg, but the villa has no rooms w balconies... instead it is In a lovely very quiet area at the back, private, w small garden, older romantic style, w a big room & big bathroom & bathtub, lovely large windows. And the swimming pool was wonderful big --- finally a pool l could really swim in!!!

I hope this little treasure doesn't change because it was perfect just the way it is, including the very reasonable price. I will definitely be back...again and....

I had a lovely stay, the owners are really kind an helpful. The apartment was clean and fully equipped and location is amazing, easy walk to the old town and some beaches.

It would have been perfect if there had been airconditioning, although the fan was very useful.
