Although I find it on the pricier side for an overnight stay (comparing price/quality to what I have paid in other establishments), considering we are in Porto Moniz, I think the price is justified. Porto Moniz, with its marina, stunning natural swimming pools and nearby islets at Praia da Ribeira da Janela, is very popular with visitors to Madeira, and all these attractions, along with the restaurants, are just a stone's throw from the hotel. So the location is superb. Again, the reception deserves special mention - the room I was initially given faced the car park with minimal sea views (as I only paid for a side sea view). Having had a tough day, literally walking all day in the rain from Serrado, I asked if I could be moved to a higher floor or a room away from the car park so I could get a good night's sleep. The manager kindly gave me a room with direct sea views (also thanks to low season availability), for which I am very grateful. The quality is exactly what you get from the description and pictures. Loved the special touch the staff made with the extra toilet roll - first time I have seen it :) Breakfast was tasty with plenty of choice and the staff were really friendly and easy going. For dinner I avoided the pizzerias and seaside restaurants which seem to cater mainly to the tourist crowds. Instead I had a great Fruto do Mar salad at this lovely bistro called Conchinha nearby - with a balcony with a great view almost all to myself (the bliss of travelling alone!).

There is a massage offered for extra fee, the receptionist could arrange if for me for the very next morning we arrived (we arrived after 7pm). I would really recommend! The receptionists were helpful. I dont know why would anyone critise the breakfast (except the coffee...) because it was indeed very good with a wide variety. The tea is Tetley! One day I wanted to try all the things and selections but could not manage. We had the sea view room, we could hear the sound of the waves and it was facing towards the rock pool. Porto Moniz not a bustling city, it is more a small town so it was very quite around the hotel, despite right next to the promenade. There is a small general shop one street uphill. The hotel room was a standard hotel room...The bathroom was nearly half the size of the room. There was a balcony with table and chairs. There were shutters and double curtains. Of course extra blankets and pillows are there. They made our beds everyday.

I would advise not to use the underground parking unless you have a Smart or you are a very experienced Madeira driver. It is very tight and narrow to go down and come up. We always had free space on the street behind the hotel. The hotel has an open air parking lot too where was always space. Considering Madeira is specialised for the outdoor tourism (having wet or smelly cloths) would be good to have moveable cloth-hangers so one can dry things at the balcony or in the bathroom more comfortably.

Very central (located very near to the bus stop), near to plenty of restaurants and the two lidos. Friendly staff and very good tasty breakfast. We had an amazing view of sea (and the rocks) from our balcony.

Lots of ants crawling inside the room, on the bed, up the furniture etc. Our balcony is very very small (barely able to fit the small table and two chairs). Sauna and steam facilities not opened during our stay either but we expected this as it's on the FAQ before our booking.

Perfect hotel in a perfect location. Love this small hotel with spacious high ceiling rooms, functional bathrooms and comfy beds. The Hotel is almost opposite the Restaurante Vista Mar which serves delicious Madeiran local cuisine. We love this quiet hotel and all the staff are delightful.

Could have done with a socket on my bedside ‐ only one socket was provided by the other bedside table therefore only my partner could use it. I had to charge my phone by the TV.

Good location- close to the boulevard and restaurants. Free underground parking and also free city parking in front of the building which we used. Breakfast had all you can imagine- various bread, eggs, ham, fruits, pudding, cakes, cookies and more. Nice and helpful lady in the reception. Big plus for the view from the bar at the 3rd floor and free games available for everyone- we had a lot of fun 😊

Jacuzzi was not in use. Some strange noise in the room since 9am- sounds like a huge fridge working. Toilet located very close to the wall and behind the toilet doors... Toilet seat was moving to the sides so you could feel like sailing 😜

Staff (at the reception, at breakfast) - very friendly and helpful. Accommodation - fast check-in and check-out, bar, pool Standard Room with Mountain View (no balcony) - good size, clean room with everything we needed (flat-screen TV, bathtub, free toiletries and hairdryer) Good location - everything is close on foot (natural complex of lava pools, market, bus stop to Funchal, restaurants) A very great breakfast was included in the final price. We were really satisfied. We would stay there again.

There is nothing to complain about.

The breakfast was great, not only European but also local specialties. The hotel is right in the center and free parking is provided. Very nice and helpful staff. Great locations, beautiful nature and an absolutely amazing natural swimming pool a few minutes from the hotel.

I liked absolutely everything here. The place is magical in a wonderful wild nature with rocks and a really beautiful wild ocean and a well-designed natural swimming pool for swimming and bathing with marine fish.

Great place with plenty of restaurants and easy walk to the swimming spots. Enjoyed having a balcony with a nice view of the sea. Breakfast was especially good for the price.

We were there during a heatwave so the room was a bit hot for us. We also got a bit confused by the parking situation (the main hotel parking was being renovated) but when we went into reception they were very helpful with their directions.

The hotel is in a central location and everything is within walking distance. Furthermore it has two parking places which makes it easy to park and move around the area. Also the bedrooms are huge, they easily fit 3 people or a dog :D

Breakfast isn't spectacular and the area is very windy. Of course the hotel can't control the weather but it might make it harder to sleep, in case you have a light sleep. Pool area looked a bit shady.

It was a lovely stay and we were so lucky to have had the Seaview. We had the balcony door open all night and slept to the sound of the waves. The bed was huge and super comfortable. Staff were really nice

Being an Eco hotel it didn't have much lighting and it took some time for it tonturn on when walking into areas. It made it look gloomy (December stay)
