The manageress and all the staff, on reception as well as in the restaurant plus the cleaners were very helpful and friendly.

Sadly the beach across the road was being de-stoned in readiness for the summer months and it was very noisy and disturbing throughout the whole week. We were unable to really relax and enjoy the balcony which should have been a quiet and peaceful space. Obviously this was not a direct fault of the hotel as it was a public renovation. We experienced the same two years previously in May 2022 when we stayed at the same hotel for a family wedding. We had loved the hotel then which, despite the noise, we chose to return.

every time we went to the bar if was closed but we were told the receptionist would get us drinks of we asked. We only needed soft drinks nothing major & we always waited until there wasn’t anyone at the desk. After the huffing & puffing & eye rolling from her, she then slammed the drinks on the bar. Very rude!

Perfect location with a beautiful view, large rooms, comfortable beds, very clean. A quiet neighborhood. Tasty breakfast but almost every day the same. You can order pancakes or an omelette with toppings. The hotel has a small gym, an indoor swimming pool and sauna, and a terrace on the top for sunbathing. Friendly and helpful staff. You could leave your car in the underground car-park for free. The evening with Madeira dances was very nice. There are bars and restaurants around the corner.

A kettle, cups and sachets in the room would be a great convenience. Also put spa robes and slippers for going to swimming pool in room.

Very friendly and helpful staff. This is a perfect location for visiting other parts of the island. Rooms were very spacious, sun terrace on the roof, gym, sauna and swimming pool free of charge. Free underground parking, although spaces were limited. The hotel is located on the sunny coast (rain is rare), there are few restaurants and cafes around. Nice and quiet place.

The only small thing i didn't like was the swimming pool location. It is in an open space in the reception without any sliding doors or something like that. It would be perfect if there was a glass door.

Enotel, if you have not heard of them, is a well-established chain of hotels and resorts in Madeira. Enotel Sunset Bay is located right on the seafront at Ponta do Sol with restaurants and bars all within walking distance. The hotel consists of several 'buildings' or rather facades, so I was surprised when I walked in to see a huge lobby. There is also a heated indoor pool next to the reception. For an overnight stay on the 10. January, I was given a room with a great balcony overlooking the sea. The room has 2 huge beds, the decor, bathroom, cleanliness, and size all exceeded my expectations. The breakfast is excellent, and we are spoilt for choice. I especially recommend the receptionists who were very friendly and helpful with tips. After a 30km walk from Funchal - it made such a difference to have such friendly personnel and a nice hotel room!

The mattress was extremely comfortable, the air conditioning was spot on, and the shower was also great. Strong water pressure. The location is great, but if you want to go to the beach in front of the hotel everyday, or if you want to travel all around the island. However, if your re planning to visit Funchal, and spend most of your days there or around there, then book something around there (in Funchal area there are nicer beaches, such as Praia de Atalaia).

I think for a 4 stars the general conditions could have been slightly better, as you can see that it s not the newest building. I’d do some renovations, especially in the bedroom itself or look at the pipes of the bidets (in our room, water was coming out of the wall when the bidet was on)

right in front of the beach with cute little old town in the back, we enjoyed everyday beautiful sunset, restaurants around are with good quality. if the weather there is comfortable pool, sauna instead. also not too far away to do some impressive hiking tours in the neighborhood. Definitely not to forget to mention the incredibly friendly and helpful staff, we asked Veronica in the reception everyday some recommendations or questions she is always patient to help us.

Would recommend to hv mosquito net on the window so we can open the window instead of air conditioner.

Great breakfast, nice aspect with open doors facing the beach, closeness to everything in the old town, having a roof top terrace and a pool for a swim, lovely fresh flowers in the lobby, very helpful staff with good english and loads of patience. Good all round ambiance and amenity.

The steam room floor needed a clean and the dry sauna was not working and needs repair. Lawn mowing at 9am when 10am would be better.

The restaurant. The breakfast was included..Good even if the fruit wasn't good (especially for being in Madeira!). The dinner, instead, was too expensive: 30 euro each adult and 15 euro for each kid ..for a self service food? It was a shame. We met all the hotel customers at the sol Poente restaurant..5 minutes walking: very good view, food and less expensive! A chance missed for this very nice hotel!

- Perfect rooms. Simple, yet tasteful, modern, clean. -Amazing view; one night we had a balcony, one we didn’t and honestly the widows are big enough to feel the sea even without the balcony which we barely used, so you can save that 20e …

- we had the best time hiking to levada nova and moinho from there. However, the beach in this village is very rough (stones) so don’t expect it to be a all day beach place - staff didn’t help much providing information on the bus and we ended up missing it (for waiting at the wrong bus stop)
