It is a classic old fashioned hotel and I LOVED it When having breakfast in the morning, there was a fire going. It was a warming experience and a great start to the day. My bedroom was perfect and of all the places I stayed during my trip, it was the warmest, most comfortable bedroom. The location was easy to find and when I parked, it was a short walk to the train station and the Hop On Hop Off buses.

that I couldn't stay longer. A holiday in Sintra involves a great deal of walking, walking up hills etc. I didn't get a chance to fully enjoy the pool and garden (although they looked terrific).

Absolutely stunningly beautiful house in a great location. The pool is amazing and wouldn't be out of place in a 4 star property. We stayed in the apartment (not connected to the main house) and it was fabulous. Clean, spacious and perfect for a family of 4 or 2 couples. Breakfast was included and had great options. You can walk in to the old town in 10 mins or get a bus that stops right outside.

The staff were a bit sullenly and I never felt very welcomed particularly by the lady that was on the desk in the afternoon and evening. There was a washing machine in our apartment but the door to it was locked so I asked if I could have the key to wash some of the kids clothes and she said it was only for stays of 3 nights or longer, I explained I was staying for 3 nights so she said no its for 4 nights. I thought this was a bit petty considering it's in the apartment and advertised. I wasn't allowed to use it.

We loved everything about this property. Near enough to the old town to walk yet far enough away to be out of the hustle bustle. Gorgeous well maintained grounds and property. We appreciate the time it takes to keep up this huge garden! The rooms were old as is the building but well maintained and very clean. Cleaned each day with fresh towels. Mira at the front desk is a delight! She was most kind with our requests and to give us good advice on sites to see and restaurants. The hotel is quiet. Continental breakfast each morning was lovely in the garden room with plenty to choose from and fresh juices. We wish we could have stayed longer! Nice sized room with TV off to the left but no English channels but we see enough TV back home! Good sized bathroom and powerful shower in the bath. Breakfast was good although not as much choice as we had hoped but sufficient for us. You can see the property was built for someone special as there are nice features and lots of space including a small pool (but too cold the day we were there)

The entrance to the hotel car park area was down a single lane alleyway with a sharp left turn through a gate not much bigger than our car. We made it in despite the screaming of the parking sensors trying to persuade us we wouldn't make it!

Very charming hotel in a historic building. Quiet setting with beautiful park-like grounds, including a swimming pool. ("Sintra Jardim" means "Sintra Garden.") Very helpful and friendly English-speaking staff. Spacious room with desk, large bathroom with tub. Large armoire with shelves, drawers and hangers for storing clothes. Two large windows provide good ventilation, which is especially important given that the room was not air-conditioned. Buffet breakfast included, served in room overlooking the garden. Easy to access by car (with help from Google Maps navigation). Just a 10-15 minute walk to the city center with a variety of shops and restaurants and several major tourist destinations (e.g., Palacio Nacional de Sintra). Private off-street gated parking area (though some spaces may be a tight squeeze for larger vehicles).

The flat-screen TV was the size of a computer monitor. (I don't watch much TV so this was not really an issue for me, although it could be an issue for those who like to watch TV while traveling). The breakfast was good but could be enhanced with hot items (e.g., fried or scrambled eggs, not just hard-boiled eggs). If the weather were warmer, the lack of air-conditioning could potentially be an issue.

Fabulous old house, wonderful gardens, pool would be great when warmer. Plenty of parking. Close to old town, easy 10 minute stroll. Front desk staff all lovely.

Although a wonderful old building, it needs money spent on it. Given the character and price we overlooked the shortcomings. The shower head in our room was REALLY bad, even for Portugal where this seems common. Just about everything was broken with the shower head, so bad, and couldn’t have been missed by the cleaner. Must be a known problem and ignored, water spurting everywhere. Breakfast was pretty poor. Internet a bit hit and miss, worked some of the time.

This was the best hotel on our two-week Spain/Portugal vacation. We felt like billionaires living in a gorgeous huge room in a beautiful estate with world-class gardens and a huge pool. We sent picture after picture to family members in the USA and they were amazed like us at its beauty and comfort. The staff was very friendly, the breakfast was amazing and endless, and there was ample on-site parking -- very rare in Sintra.

The pool area and view was gorgeous! The location was also very nice - close enough to restaurants but a little secluded. The overall personality and feel of the place was very elegant.

The breakfast was underwhelming. This is the only hotel or rental I've ever stayed in where I slept poorly because there was only one pillow per person and it was very small. Finally note that the two bedroom apartment is rented out with only one of the bedrooms unless you have more people and or pay a higher price. This was unclear on Booking.com. We thought we had the entire apartment, which we didn't need, but it was weird to have someone else in the room even though it was double bolted.

Returning to Hotel Sintra Jardim feels like rediscovering a hidden gem. Tucked away in lush gardens, this charming manor has a timeless charm. Our room was a stately, elegant retreat. The hotel's overall feel, like a secret garden, continues to enchant me every time I stay at this beautiful place. The friendly and helpful staff add to the warmth of the experience, making every stay memorable. With its charming gardens and historic feel, whether exploring, or looking for a peaceful escape, Sintra Jardim is a great place to soak in the magic of Sintra.

Amazing house, beautiful garden with a nice pool. Various places to sit outside. It's even better than it looks on the pictures. The staff is very friendly and helpful: it really felt like a family house. You can get some snacks/sandwiches and drinks during the day as well. It's about a 10 min walk to Sintra historical centre. The rooms are big and clean. Tip for food: you can walk to Sintra historical centre, but you can also walk up the hill to find some nice less touristy places that are also much cheaper (Tasco do Strauss, Indian Palace). Another tip: do not walk from the station with your suitcase unless you are prepared for an uphill route (the way back downhill is no problem).

It is an old house so of course the sound insulation is not amazing, but since it is a very quiet place it wasn't really an issue. The toilet in my room was positioned a bit difficult if you are taller than the average Portuguese person. Breakfast was good, but a bit simple: small tip - some more options of cheeses etc. would be nice. The lady who makes the breakfast is very friendly and helpful though!
