The Green Elephant Backpackers is a safe place and lots of people there, locals and backpackers whom I could nicely socialize with. I slept in a men's 6-bed dorm with a view at the Lions Head. The hostel features a spacious kitchen with 4 fridges, and also a kind of a living space that offers free Wi-Fi and sufficient charging sockets for some 4 to 6 digital nomads at a huge table. There's also a fancy bar (bringing own alc beverages is not allowed). To go to the center CBD and to the Water Front is a 5 to 6 km distance. I always used the Minibus taxis at 12 R each ride to CBD and walking the remaining way.

Two points I wish the owner would change: 1) I missed individual lights at my bed. 2) I was not allowed to consume my own beer and wine.

The fact that there was no microwave and fridge in the room

The room was a perfect room for comfortability small but cozy perfect for a couple, private bathroom included was a bargain also all the hottest bars are close by so it makes it so convienent to stay and lets not forget the bar and pool situated in the green elephant backpackers what a great touch to the place really brings good vibes when checking in definitely a must visit spot

They are lots of things I loved about this place, just to mention the few..... Amazing, friendly and kind stuff, ❤️ also loved the cultural exchange in the doms.sharering a room with people from different countries.also loved the bar erea, coolest 😎 place to chill n mind your own business. I liked that I could've done anything and everything there, as in drink, etc and still Be a few steps away from my room. I liked that there was someone to give me. A tour around the place. Person favorite - I loved that it was close to the venue I was performing at.

The showers werent cleaned.... And I think thats based on the people that either don't clean after themselves or lack of cleaning from the staff.

The room under the stairs needs a fan or something. No simple breakfast served anymore...

This is exactly like a nice hostel has to be. Basic but nice rooms. Absolutely clean bathrooms which get cleaned every day. Very friendly and helpfull staff that tries to make everything possible for you. Also nice and open other guests, so you feel like part of a big family. Very quiet nights. Great located - in walking distance to Lower Main Road (bars, restaurants, shops) and several grocery stores. Great wifi everywhere.

It has a great variety of guest, good furnishings, regular and thorough housekeeping. The staff we were always willing to go beyond their expected duties. to help guests with anything outside of the house and especially with navigating around Cape Town.
