We spent 3 nights in this beautiful old house manager by Sarah and John. We had a wonderful time here, the owners are lovely people who take great care of their guests. They waited for us on a late check in and let us have an early check out according to our flight schedule. Location is amazing, just 15 min driving to town and right on the highway to get around Western Cape area. We were offered every day a full breakfast and Sarah's scrambled eggs are just perfect! Being winter we couldn't access swimming pool but it looked really nice.
Actually we really appreciated everything.

The location was excellent for where we needed to be. Close to some really good restaurants and some pubs where we could have a quiet drink before dinner. The option for breakfast was a real bonus as it meant we didnt have to go out and find somewhere to eat. My scrambled egg and toast was delicious and I enjoyed the fresh fruit and yoghurt. I got to chat to two tourists at breakfast who told me all about their travels. Our hostess, Sarah, and owner of the property was extremely helpful and friendly offering us restaurant recommendations. I felt safe and our rooms were spacious and comfortable. It was easy to find and close to all amenities. It was a last minute booking and Sarah was extremely accommodating. Wish we could have stayed longer but we were going to visit the wine routes for the weekend. Will definitely recommend this accommodation and will definitely be staying again as I visit Cape Town a few times a year so its nice to have a place that I can stay at regularly

From the moment I arrived at Newlands, it felt like a home away from home. The warm and friendly service truly went above and beyond. Conveniently located near shops and restaurants, it was the perfect central spot for my stay from December 15 to 19, 2024. Sarah and John greeted me with such kindness, making me feel instantly at ease. My room was spacious and offered a stunning view of the mountain. I’m already counting down the days until my next visit!

I just love their service. They serve with humanity, and they have good hospitality. They even allowed to stay beyond check out as we had to be at Cape Town Station at 17.00. That shows kindness. They always checked on us; thus, we felt like home. Breakfast was also perfect.
I wasn't comfortable with dogs moving around. For the first day, the towels were dirty. Since it was cold, when we took an additional comforter, it had a lot of stains. Therefore, I was not comfortable using it.

We were only able to stay here for one night between flights, but wish we could have stayed longer. On the eastern slopes of Table Mountain, it's cozy, clean and well situated, close to the airport, downtown and the amazing Kirstenbosch Botanical Gardens, and just a short stroll away from South Africa's oldest pub, the Forester Arms. Our room looked out on a lovingly tended garden. Guests mingle in the sunny dining room for breakfast. Sarah and her husband took good care of us. Highly recommended.

The owners are so helpful and understanding. We really like them and would like to come back again. The breakfast is made by the owners themselves and was decent and good The location is absolutely beautiful at the back of table mountain. Its an astonishing place to stay
there was nothing we didn't like. The house is old and door locks are not of the latest type but that's all in the game. However the owners are the whole day around, so the place is safe

The owners, Sarah and John, were amazing. Very nice and welcoming. The facilities were great and there's even a pool, which we didn't use. Great breakfast and value for money, great location and a very safe neighborhood. The place is well prepared for load shedding, which is also something to keep in mind. Sarah and John are very knowledgeable and helpful, so don't hesitate to ask for tips about your stay or travel.
Something that occurred almost everywhere in South Africa - water pressure in the shower was good, probably better than most places, but not great. And of course the load shedding, which isn't their fault or responsibility.

Sarah the host gave me a very warm welcome. My room was clean and spacious. The view of the mountain when standing in the courtyard was hands down the best for me. Didn't have breakfast, unfortunately, as I was out early both mornings
Dog and cats, I'm obviously not a fury person. Nothing to do with the accommodation, but just a note for travellers. I know the weekend I went was quite a busy one, cycle tour. But getting an Uber took a bit long, especially returning back to the guesthouse.

The welcoming was great, Sarah is lovely. Enjoyed the brief chats we managed to squeeze in between the late arrival and early morning departure. Beautiful little spot.
My stay was very brief only comment i can make here, I noticed the curtains and carpets could do with a bit of a spring clean once the renovations are done :), apart from that it was a lovely quaint guest home, with fantastic service, very welcoming and homely, in the perfect location.

Good communication with hosts. gave us several recommendations on places to eat and explore around Cape Town. We had a family suite with 2 bedrooms and a bathroom. Beds were comfortable. Had heaters in the room since it was chilly outside while we were there. Had good hot water for showers. Hosts would cook eggs the way you wanted them with bacon, tomatoes, and mushrooms on the side, and also had cereal, fresh cut fruit, yogurt, and coffee, tea, and juice. Had TV with several channels, but we did not use much since we were out of the room daylight until dark. Wifi seemed to work well. If i ever come back to Cape Town, will look to book here first! Can use Uber or taxi to get there from airport.
Really cannot think of anything. was a pleasant stay.
