We only stayed here one night as we were flying home the next day and the hotel was great for this purpose. Despite having the room we booked changed at check-in, it was still a lovely, clean and modern room with good facilities. The breakfast the following morning was included and there was a wide range; the food was good and we were able to have multiple drinks. The staff were very helpful throughout our stay and, as our flight wasn't until 10pm, we were able to leave our luggage there during the day and when we came to collect our bags at around 6pm, they allowed us to use an unoccupied hotel room to freshen up before our flight which was a very nice gesture and really appreciated!

For ease, we decided to have our evening meal at the hotel. The hotel had a function/party during the day which may have affected this but we were underwhelmed by the meal - the food was good but service was slow (we saw one disgruntled woman at another table leave and go back to her room because of the slowness) and the prices were quite high compared to other similar meals/restaurants we had elsewhere in Johannesburg, Cape Town and Franschhoek.

Everything was beyond our expectations. The staff:- From the moment we arrived all the staff, from the receptionist, to the garden and maintenance crew, servers in the intimate well appointed restaurant (with an incredible wine cellar), were incredible, knowledgeable, helpful, polite, and perfectly attired. The grounds:- Are immaculate and well manicured providing plenty of spacious parking for our large 4X4. The beautiful sparkling pool with plenty of Sun loungers. Our room:- The furnishings (curtaining, blinds, floor rug, furniture, side tables) linen, gowns, towels, lighting, climate control, sound system, TV, crockery, etc etc. The thoughtful toiletries provided. The mini bar fridge stocked with lots of wonderful offerings, Nespresso coffee machine and frother PLUS the chocolates, chips, popcorn and other tasty treats. Need I say more? Absolutely fabulous and we will definitely be staying at The Giglio again and again!! The restaurant:- Unfortunately due to other commitments we only managed breakfast, which was also outstanding! My eggs Benedict were delicious with perfectly soft poached eggs and smoked salmon, as was my husbands omelette. Beautiful tasteful crockery, cutlery and table linen. Honestly I could go on and on about the thought and fine detail that has gone into this amazing establishment - FIVE STARS + 🤩

As you can probably tell my my review above there was absolutely nothing we disliked at this beautiful boutique hotel, it is outstanding.

What a lovely hotel - our room was beautiful with a huge comfy bed and an amazing shower in the middle of the room. Nice to have a table and chairs outside too. The staff were fantastic - super helpful and really went above and beyond to help us (especially Charity). The taxi driver was brilliant that they recommended too. The food is the restaurant is great - really beautifully presented and tasty. Nice wine selection too. Breakfasts are cooked for you which is a nice change from a buffet. In a clean, safe area. Will definitely return.

Outstanding experience. From the warm hospitality of the team, to the clean and spacious rooms, everything about this hotel exceeded our expectations. Team was friendly, attentive, and went out of their way to ensure that our stay was comfortable and enjoyable. They were readily available to answer any questions, provide recommendations, and offer assistance whenever needed. Their genuine care for their guests made us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. The breakfast was a delight, the pancakes were a particular favorite. It was the perfect way to start the day before venturing out to explore the city. I highly recommend this hotel to anyone visiting Johannesburg and looking for a wonderful place to stay.

The perfect safe oasis before ending our trip around South Africa. This beautiful hotel is 15 minutes from the airport. The amenities and service are high quality. The staff is so kind and the food is DELICIOUS! We had dinner the night we arrived (the peri peri chicken and balsamic chicken) - it was a meal you think about after eating. The complimentary breakfast is also delicious. I recommend the eggs Benedict. Everything was 10/10 and the perfect hotel close to the airport.

This hotel is a gem in the city with extremely comfortable bed and beautiful quality and stunning furnishings. Breakfast is also beautifully prepared and so scrumptious. We enjoyed our overnight stay and we will definitely be back for a weekend break! We are a fussy couple and we totally loved and enjoyed our stay.

There was no kettle in the room for us to make late night and early morning tea 😔

Excellent location and rooms. I arrived late at night and they had my dinner which I had pre-ordered ready to go. I only had the 1 night, but the rooms were comfortable, the food was delicious and everything was quite easy. Beds were comfortable as well.

I arranged for an airport pickup through the hotel and I think it was a little overpriced.

The staff is amazingly friendly. I also truly love the fact that the owner is also on the premises. The bedrooms are luxurious. The bath as well as the shower are superb. The TV unit is connected with all the lights and you can switch between "atmospheres". Beds are super comfortable. You receive a welcoming drink of your choice. A true gem in Bedfordview.

The devil is in the details. Just some small things. The bathroom bin didn't have a lid, as well as a toilet brush. And although the breakfast omelette was delightful, I would serve it with some toast and your choice of cheese. Like a Mozzarella and cheddar mixture.

Absolutely nothing

The hotel is absolutely charming and the food that we had for dinner was delicious and cooked perfectly. The neighborhood was alright but we didn't explore it much - we took Uber to sights such as Soweto (Mandela's house) and the Apartheid Museum. The short (but far enough) distance from the airport was appreciated.

We loved pretty much everything. If I had to pick one thing, it would be the location.
