Hotel Kanala

Beautiful airy bedroom with stunning views. Beautiful prawn and mushroom ravioli. And thought I have limited Spanish and the staff have limited English they were so lovely. Especially the older male waiter. And I got a free toast and coffee I’m leaving which was very kind!!

Location wise it is not the best. especially after a long day in the Camino. Restaurant choices are limited to the hotel or one other place which was really busy and no grocery store. The food wa a beautiful but fine dining and if you are on a budget it is pricey.

I had wanted to stay in Deba, the next town on the Camino but couldn’t find a reservation there, so I opted for this hotel, and I’m glad I did. It was very clean. The staff was extremely helpful and kind, and the food at the restaurant was delicious. Best of all, it was a few steps off the Camino.

There was nothing I didn’t like.

Very welcoming and accommodating host. We were able to add an extra bed to the room for our third guest.

Location is a bit out of the heart of town but extremely close to the bus stop. it is actually also extremely close to where the Camino de Santiago enters Itziar but there is not signage on that side of the building so it is not as clear as it could be.

The room was excellent with a large balcony with extensive views of the coast and hills. Very comfortable too. Complementary tea and coffee in the reception was a nice touch. The food in the restaurant is very good, although quite expensive

The hotel is close to quite a lot of roads, but with windows closed there wasn't too much traffic noise.

Very nice staff. Lovely dinner and breakfast. Bar on site and outdoor seating area. Spotlessly clean and comfortable.

The room was small which was fine, but there were shutters on the window which were difficult to open and a lot of cats outside so we opened the windows only slightly, but the room was incredibly hot.

it is located in a valley, beautiful view, lovely air. the staff is very helpful even though I don’t speak any Spanish, the receptionist still tried to help me with my luggage transporting problem. it is clean and spacious, very nice surroundings.

Very friendly staff. Lovely view from the hotel which is set high up. Lovely dinner.

There is no breakfast buffet but you can get a drink and croissant/toast from the bar. Some noise from the road and unfortunately from other guests in the hotel.

The staff were great. The guy running the bar/food was really helpful. I was walking the Camino and he asked me what time I'd like to eat, what was on menu etc. I was leaving early following day and lady said it would be before breakfast but she would leave me something out to have/take - she did, and it was good to have a coffee/orange and some food to start day.

The staff were only top class - could not do enough for us. Thank you.

Location is far out from Deba - taxi required if you want a swim / see the town / bars / etc.

stunning location with amazing views, friendly staff & great food, provided secure parking for bicycles. would also be good for motorcyclists. friendly locals

picky but air con would be great but we did arrive in a rare heatwave
