Friendly, private hotel with personality, rather than a boring chain establishment. The location was perfect on the outskirts of San Sebastián and the 16 bus offered an excellent service right into the centre. We loved our balcony and the sea view. Breakfast was good, for the price, and we enjoyed a slice of cake one afternoon. Good car parking, which is always important.

Tiny bath towels. Our toilet had a worryingly feeble flush and an extractor fan in the bathroom would have been nice. A table on the balcony would also have been appreciated. We had noisy neighbours, which wasn’t the hotel’s fault. We phoned reception and the noise stopped soon after.

The staff were so helpful, friendly, and full of information of the surrounding areas and town. Bus timetable, taxis. Etc. All staff were so helpful in every way. We had one day that rained heavily when we were in the town. So got back to hotel, soaked. Because of the weather, we decided to stay in the hotel. They opened up the dining area, lots of help yourself hot drinks. Then later they ordered our pizza to be delivered. Staff then organized plates etc for us. Breakfast was plenty to keep us full most of the day. Great choice of food.

Nothing important to say, except maybe some plug in USB terminals. Would have been easier, Than plug adaptor. But not important, and we managed.

Have stayed before and delighted to return. Easy to get to by car with free parking. Host and all staff most welcoming and helpful. Chose room with balcony which has a fantastic view over the bay, and is better for keeping as cool as possible when it's sunny. Room and bathroom both a nice size with all facilities required for our three night stay. Breakfast was exceptional with wide range of (cold) food, even including delicious home-made cakes; spectacular value for 7 euros. Hot and cold drinks and cakes were also available in the dining room each afternoon, without charge. With a bus stop just outside for a 25 minute journey into central San Sebastian for 1.85 euros the position suited perfectly.

Not a thing!!

The hotel lies in beautiful surroundings above Donostia-San Sebastian - on a very steep hill. My fault for not chhecking a topographical map, but the two kilometers to the beach were not easily traversed with a leisurely stroll. Luckily there is a bus right outside the hotel that will take you to thhe main beach in about half an hour. The owner/ manger and the staff were incredible. Very caring, and took the time to inform each guest of places to go in SS, they hhad a list of restaurants to try, information on getting around, etc. It just was a magnificently welcoming experience.

I mentioned that it was on a steep hill, which was unexpected to me and not really part of my plan, so I did not love that, but if that is what you are going for, it is great. Thhe road outside can get kind of loud during the day if the window is open. This could be circumvented by booking the seaside rooms at a slightly higher cost. And at night there was less traffic and it did not bother us at all.

Family run Leku Eder may not be located in the center of San Sebastian, but it has an even better location on the hillside of Monte Igueldo. The setting is peaceful and relaxing and easily reachable by bus #16 so you don't have to fight the traffic in town nor waste time searching for a parking spot. The view from our second floor balcony looked out over the ocean and was lovely; our host Inaki was charming welcoming and helpful, the breakfast reasonably priced and good. It was such a nice place to return to each evening after a long day exploring the beautiful city of San Sebastian.

Nothing comes to mind.

Superb sea view. Quiet environment. Frequent bus service to town. Very welcoming and friendly staff. We went into town for our meals, but the breakfast looked fine (7 Euros). Very handy for the amusement park if you have kids - but not close as to be intrusive. Books in various languages, and board games, available in the lounge.

Like many Spanish hotels, sound insulation is poor. There was a family who let their kids run about until 10.30 pm and they were at it again by 7.00 am the next morning - but it was fine once they left.

Number 16 bus stops right outside the hotel and gets you into the old city in about 20 minutes. Excellent service both ways. Bed was very comfortable. The elevator was appreciated for getting our bags to our room. Both reception staff were incredibly helpful especially pointing out the best laundromat for us to use. The man on checkout was very informative regarding points of interest on our way. We also really appreciated the midday checkout!

Everything was good

A really lovely hotel run by a local family who take a quiet and understandable pride in their business. The location on a hill is wonderful, looking out to a sea bay and across to the lighthouse and antique amusement park - which is well worth a visit for a step back in time and the fantastic views, especially from the top of the lighthouse. Breakfast is reasonably priced and taken in a room with great views. You can take the steps down to a quiet garden below with a lovely Linden tree planted by the owner and his brother when they were children. You can walk down to San Sebastian (known by Basques as Donostia) by a footpath (or the road), or take the regular bus from outside the front door, or go across to the headland and take the funicular railway. This hotel (Leku Eder in Basque means 'beautiful place' and it is) has the best of both worlds - near enough to access the beach and busy town easily, and just separate enough to enjoy the quiet and calm of being apart. The owner is particularly helpful and informative.

Nothing - except perhaps the tinted balcony glass. A matter of taste perhaps.

Lovely helpful staff. Bus stop outside into town. Great views. Great that we could use the fridge in reception. Free tea and coffee. Quirky hotel, which we loved. Bit old fashioned but this is what we liked. Walking distance to old fairground with lovely restaurant and views. Funicular down into town. Free parking at hotel

Could have done with air conditioning. It was a bit hot, but staff were able to provide a fan.
