Hotel Costabella

The hotel has done a lot of beautiful renovations comparing to the pictures you see. For us we loved every single part of the hotel. It is about a 20 min walk to Girona town centre but we didn’t mind, we loved the walk. The staff will order you a taxi too no problem. We missed our flight back and decided to come back to the hotel and see if there was a room available, the lovely gentleman remembered us, we were able to get the same room back and made the most of the extra day we had. thank you to the gentleman at the reception who was so great at looking after us. This hotel deserves to be more than a 3*. Girona is beautiful, this hotel took me by surprise and we loved every moment of our stay here. Thanks to the wonderful staff and hope to be back soon:)

Reception and restaurant staff were so friendly and helpful. The hotel was really nice and clean. We ate breakfast at the hotel and also had lunch a couple of times. The food was much better than we expected and the menu del dia is very reasonably priced. The pool area gets sunshine all day but there are also large umbrellas if you prefer shade. Aircon in the bedroom and communal areas worked well. Nice park and river nearby if you want to go for an early morning run before it gets too hot!

The walk into Girona old town is not the most picturesque but it's well lit at night and reception will call you a taxi if you prefer not to walk.

Hotel was 10min walk from old town. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Room was very clean and modern with tea making facilities a fridge safe and hair dryer and air-conditioning. Only 1 English channel on TV. BBC news. There was no bar as such. Selection of beers and wines in a room called an honesty bar. Main bar in restaurant didn't open till 7.30 and you could get drinks served to deck. Breakfast was €10 and €9if you pre booked. It was basic continental. In my opinion not worth price.

The hotel helped us to check in early as requested. The pool was amazing and a great way to spend the day when the weather is hot. Honestly, I don't understand why this hotel only has 3 stars. The breakfast was delicious with a huge variety of foods. The beds were very comfortable, AC worked properly, the room was clean and huge, much bigger than expected. There is a bus stop right across the hotel to go to the old town. Just a reminder, there is a Carrefour and many more supermarkets nearby, but they are closed on Sundays. I walked for about 15 minutes to find a store that was open. Best get everything you need before checking in. Overall, the perfect hotel to spend a couple of days in beautiful Girona!

This is a problem at every single hotel I have ever stayed at with a pool and it's the guests leaving their towels on the sunbeds under the umbrellas while going to their rooms for naps of whatever. I wish there was a sign that allowed you to throw there belongings that they "leave" there, in the pool or bushes. I'd suggest the hotel put up a sign for guests not to reserve sunbeds.

The hotel is fantastic value for money. We ate breakfast twice in the restaurant, and it had everything we needed to start our day off. All of the food was fresh. We ate once in the restaurant in the evening and it was OK but nothing special. The location is good. A 15-minute walk into town, or you can get the L2 bus from just outside the hotel. Carrefour and mercadona is a 2 and 5 minutes walk from the hotel. The pool area is great. Comfortable beds, parasol, and side tables to pop your drinks on. There's an honesty bar that is reasonably priced available 24 hours. We stayed in their refurbished rooms, and it was great. Fab air-conditioning, comfortable beds, and a fantastic powerful shower. The gym is basic but still usable. If you are wanting to visit Girona but don't want to be in the centre, then this is the hotel for you.

It's not the hotel's fault, but there's a lot of wasps around the pool shower. They offer a menu del dia at lunch, but it's a little too much for us. It would have been nice to have an option to just have a sandwich. Some light music would have been nice around the pool.

Everywhere was immaculately clean, from the pool area to the bedroom. Fantastic shower with high end toiletries. The staff were all extremely polite and helpful. Sun beds always available. Breakfast had a very wide range of both hot and cold items all good quality and was excellent value for money. Honesty bar 24hrs was a bonus. 20 minute easy walk to the town centre/cathedral. Ample parking available. Great facilities. Very good atmosphere. One of the best hotels that I have stayed in.

I imagine that my room was above the kitchen/dining room as I was awoken very early every morning by the noise of crockery being moved and staff talking and preparing for breakfast. (Breakfast started at 7.30am) This is the only reason I cannot give this hotel 10/10. Otherwise I cannot fault it.

Really enjoyed our stay at this property. It is fairly small but had everything you needed and lovely areas to relax in. I particularly liked the area around the honesty bar to have a drink and relax before dinner. The choice of food at breakfast was amazing, could not have asked for more. Great size room with bathroom and good aircon. I used the gym, it was small but functional and I used the terrace area to do my own yoga. Location was excellent, I personally like to go running and there was a route by the river directly opposite the hotel that leads all the way into the city via beautiful parks. There is a bus stop over the road from the hotel that goes straight into Girona city which only takes a couple of minutes, we used it several times a day to travel around and to go out for dinner in the evening. Pool area was nice to relax around and have a dip during the hot weather! Staff were very helpful and very friendly.

Nothing to dislike

This is a lovely hotel on the outskirts of Girona. The reception staff were very nice -offering me a seat while waiting and offering me a towel for the pool on arrival. My room was upgraded to a double at no extra cost. The room was lovely especially the bathroom with a good selection of complimentary items. The bed was comfortable and, on a very hot night, the temperature was comfortable. The pool area was pretty and well kept. The honesty bar was a nice touch. It was a bit of a walk to the centre (15 minutes) but the pool more than made up for that. The breakfast was good value with a nice selection of hot and cold food and fresh orange juice. The staff were helpful. I would definitely go back to this hotel.

Not much of a view from the rooms, but I knew that and the pool area was a lovely place to sit.

We had the perfect 2 night stay here. Easy to access from the main road. The free and easy parking on site is ideal. The welcome by the man on Reception (Sebi) was one of the nicest ever. The standard double room (120) was good value, adequate in size and located above Reception overlooking the pool. It was perfectly clean, fresh and modern and the bed comfy. Great shower. Useful mini fridge. Excellent free WiFi. It's a 15 minute walk into town along the road, or a slightly longer quiet walk by the river. A large Carrefour supermarket just 5 minutes walk if you want to stock up before you leave. Superb place to stay. 

Lovely swimming pool area but not enough sun loungers and astro turf gets really hot - so be careful, also the metal tables they use are lethally hot could really burn a child. Nice little play room inside for small children. Nice honesty bar. Good breakfast. Very close to a bus stop that takes you close to independence square and then across bridge to old town.

Lucked out on the room. Very dark and dingy. Grubby. Small window with a view over a filthy veranda. Bathroom was very nice. Room was a single, if I was staying longer would have asked to move.
