My 2nd time staying here and this place is still amazing as last time. Easy to meet other travelers and we cooked a lot of dinners together. Beds so comfortable I slept like a baby every night. People were respectful of quiet time. Last time I noticed the facilities could be cleaner and suggested they should have a cleaner in addition to the volunteers cleaning…They now have a full-time cleaning lady who is very sweet and did a great job cleaning everyday. Facilities were much cleaner and I appreciate they listened to feedback. Bonus points: a water filter, free fresh avocados and papaya to share were a great extra!

Very friendly vibe hostel which quickly felt like home thanks to the staff, the cat and the cosy decor! The beds are original with everything you need; curtains, 3 plugs, reading light and shelf! I also felt quite safe, with lockers in the room and boxes to leave my luggage under my bed. Surprisingly, it is quiet in the night which helped me wake up early to be the first one in the water for surfiiiing, which is right at the front door! No need to check the forecast as I could perfectly see the waves from the rooftop... Will definitely come again!

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. The location is perfect (right next to the beach), it’s very clean and the staff is great. The hostel’s ambiance makes it easy to make friends and I will never forget all memories we’ve made together. I loved the outdoor kitchen on the rooftop terrace. The hostel also organises fun activities, like a delicious pancake brunch. Thank you so much Ipek, Diego, Gigi and Xiuzhen of Ventana Azul!

Perhaps it was due to the low season, but the hostel activities could be better communicated to the guests (for example via the Whatsapp group of the hostel), but that’s all!

I had an amazing time at the Hostel! I arrived in the evening and was immediately welcomed by a taco night on the rooftop. I met many great people and had some super nice conversations. The whole week was scheduled with activities like Hikes, Breakfast or Dinner together & also some Workshops! I wish i could have joined more of them. The rooms & beds are very nice and comfortable. Also with some fresh air inside the room. The Toilets and showers are super clean and the kitchen aswell. The location couldn’t be better, directly at the main surf-beach and lots of nice restaurants and bars! I miss you already, Thank you for everything!!😊

Here's a glimpse of my incredible stay at La Ventana Azul, where the turquoise waves and friendly faces quickly became a home away from home. Accommodation and Facilities: The hostel itself is beautifully designed, with a laid-back, welcoming vibe that sets the stage for a fantastic vacation. Each room is clean and comfortable, reflecting the local culture and the spirit of the ocean. The dorms are spacious and airy, with cozy bunk beds and plenty of storage for your belongings. The private rooms, meanwhile, offer a touch of luxury for those seeking a bit more privacy. La Ventana Azul boasts an impressive array of facilities to cater to every traveler's needs. The rooftop terrace, offering sweeping views of the ocean and the bustling streets below, quickly became my favorite spot to unwind after a day of surfing. There's also a well-equipped communal kitchen, a cozy lounge area with a library and board games, and a surfboard storage room. The Kindness of Salva, Iza, and the Avocado Connection: One of the standout aspects of my stay at La Ventana Azul was the warmth and hospitality of the staff. Salva, the hostel's manager, and Iza, the ever-smiling volunteer, went above and beyond to make sure I felt welcomed and taken care of. Their passion for surfing and the local community is infectious, and they were always eager to share tips, stories, and recommendations for exploring Gran Canaria. La Ventana Azul would not be complete without mentioning Dario, the he hostel's resident BBQ...

Despite the numerous positives of my stay at La Ventana Azul, there was one minor area that could be improved upon to enhance the overall experience for surfers. After a long day of riding the waves, it would be extremely helpful to have a large bucket or tub available for washing wetsuits. This is a common amenity provided by many other surf hostels, and its addition to La Ventana Azul would make the post-surf routine more convenient for guests. I believe this small improvement would go a long way in ensuring that La Ventana Azul continues to excel in catering to the needs of surfing enthusiasts from around the world.

Personnel was so kind and accomodating. They stimulate the openness in the whole hostel. Especially Jackie was such a sweet person who was really professional in handling things and at the same time she was like a friend that invites you along after her shift. The hostel itself is pretty and has a nice terrace on the roof. The rules are respected by everyone. You can have a nice evening together as well as have some peace and quiet if you want to go to bed early. A lot of people were here by themselves and everyone was really open. The hostel attracts a wide audience so there was a mix of different ages, backgrounds and travel objectives. I was there for 4 nights on holiday after having explored the island and felt sorry I did not think about working from here and staying a little longer.

The kitchens are well equipped besides from the pots and pans, which could be replaced a bit quicker as lots of people use them and are difficult to keep clean with intense usage.

It was my first time traveling solo, and it was just perfect. The common spaces and the upper terrace were the spots to meet great new people and there I made a few new friendships. The staff's incredible warmth and helpfulness elevated the whole experience. Three volunteers I will always remember are Živa with her kindness, Anni with her amazing energy, and Mata, who made perfect pancakes.

A place to feel comfortable, like in a family. Just a few steps from the beach. Beautiful, new communal kitchen and there is also an open kitchen on the roof terrace with a side view of the sea. The staff is very friendly and there is always someone cleaning. The common areas are spacious and cozy. I'd love to come back :-)

Rooms are a bit noisy, like in some hostels where are a lot of young people. The bed could be a little harder for me.

The hostel offers an excellent experience. It has two well-equipped kitchens and a large common area for movie nights, a library, and coworking. The environment is friendly and safe. The view of the beach and the surf spot from the rooftop is spectacular. Located in a pedestrian area, free from car noise. Recommended for a comfortable and peaceful stay. I'll be back!
