I came to celebrate my birthday in Gran Canaria and I stayed at La Ventana Azul whilst waiting my friends for the weekend and the hostel was a fantastic finding on booking. The rooftop photos really catch me and I'm glad that I booked, it did not disappointed. Sunny and warm mornings in the rooftop was something else, and mid January for those who live in Europe is priceless (much needed winter sun), then I cooked my omelette. I needed some quite time and fast connection to complete Uni's assessments and I saw few other people working from the hostel as well. Surf lessons, good atmosphere, amazing location with carrefour and other shops, coffee house, açaí shop (guilty pleasure, sorry not sorry), and city center ALL walking distance. Mostly important, the beach. Great atmosphere with events to meet awesome people. Speaking of awesome, Thaly, the brazilian and Sara, the italiana volunteers were extremely helpful and kind the whole time. Can't recommend enough. Thank you guys for making my birthday holiday fantastic. Hope to have a chance to stay again in the future. Cheers!

My stay...too short :)

I spent an incredible month in this hostel, a place that was recommended to me by someone I met. As soon as I arrived, I was welcomed by regulars who came back every year, which speaks volumes about the quality of this place. The atmosphere is warm and the impeccable facilities really made my stay memorable. In addition, there is a superb rooftop with a view of the sea, and the hostel regularly organizes activities that facilitate meetings. After having had several experiences in hostels, this one remains at the top of my list of recommendations! A big thank you to the team who are always attentive to each member of the hostel. 🙏😊

My 2nd time staying here and this place is still amazing as last time. Easy to meet other travelers and we cooked a lot of dinners together. Beds so comfortable I slept like a baby every night. People were respectful of quiet time. Last time I noticed the facilities could be cleaner and suggested they should have a cleaner in addition to the volunteers cleaning…They now have a full-time cleaning lady who is very sweet and did a great job cleaning everyday. Facilities were much cleaner and I appreciate they listened to feedback. Bonus points: a water filter, free fresh avocados and papaya to share were a great extra!

I had an absolutely perfect stay at this hostel! From the moment I arrived, the staff made me feel incredibly welcome with their friendly and helpful attitude. The location couldn't be better—it's right on the beach, which is perfect for surfing or in my case learning how to surf. There were plenty of fun activities to keep everyone entertained, making it easy to meet new people and have a great time. The facilities exceeded my expectations as well—clean, well-maintained, and offering everything I needed for a comfortable stay. I couldn't have asked for a better experience and would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a hostel to meet other fellow travelers from all over the world and chill surfer vibes!

I had a great experience with Ventana Azul. Every common place as well as the private rooms are cleaned regularly and very well equipped so that everyone is encouraged to keep clean. There is a friendly and humorous atmosphere in the whole hostel and many areas to spend your time in after surfing. The roof terrace offers a direct view to the sea and the waves, there's rooftop kitchen and dining area, as well as two swings. It created a nice community feeling. Your personal space in the room is equipped with everything you need and the other visitors are respectful. The entire building is very well suited and smartly designed to fit a hostel. Service was very good, the receptionist helped us with information and was very helpful. Overall an amazing experience, thrilled to be there! 10/10

We loved the location, it's perfect for surfing, for beginners as well as for more experienced surfers. It is surrounded by great places (restaurants, cafes, bars, the beach, city center walking distance). We met amazing new people from different parts of the world, cooked together, shared traditional recipes... It felt like a family. On the terrace we had sunny mornings near the beach and great atmosphere. When you need your own personal space it is respected. The whole house has beautiful natural light and ventilation. We had no unpleasant experiences and it was very clean. Everyone respected the hostel etiquette and the staff were extremely helpful and kind. This Histel is one of the best places I have ever stayed at.. I certainly recommend it. Can't wait to be here again! Thank you, Ventana Azul

I loved everything in this hostel!:) one of the best (if not THE best) hostels I've ever stayed at...amazing, super helpful staff who often organize different activities that help travelers get to know each other and have a great time together (I can highly recommend the Sunday pancakes!!). The beds are comfortable, showers are clean and plenty, one of the two (fully equipped) kitchens is on the rooftop which is the best place to chill with a view over the ocean and some comfortable hanging chairs ^^ really good and friendly vibe, I wish I could have stayed longer and would definitely go back anytime:)

Very friendly vibe hostel which quickly felt like home thanks to the staff, the cat and the cosy decor! The beds are original with everything you need; curtains, 3 plugs, reading light and shelf! I also felt quite safe, with lockers in the room and boxes to leave my luggage under my bed. Surprisingly, it is quiet in the night which helped me wake up early to be the first one in the water for surfiiiing, which is right at the front door! No need to check the forecast as I could perfectly see the waves from the rooftop... Will definitely come again!

One of the best hostels I’ve ever stayed at. The location is perfect (right next to the beach), it’s very clean and the staff is great. The hostel’s ambiance makes it easy to make friends and I will never forget all memories we’ve made together. I loved the outdoor kitchen on the rooftop terrace. The hostel also organises fun activities, like a delicious pancake brunch. Thank you so much Ipek, Diego, Gigi and Xiuzhen of Ventana Azul!

Perhaps it was due to the low season, but the hostel activities could be better communicated to the guests (for example via the Whatsapp group of the hostel), but that’s all!

I had an amazing time at the Hostel! I arrived in the evening and was immediately welcomed by a taco night on the rooftop. I met many great people and had some super nice conversations. The whole week was scheduled with activities like Hikes, Breakfast or Dinner together & also some Workshops! I wish i could have joined more of them. The rooms & beds are very nice and comfortable. Also with some fresh air inside the room. The Toilets and showers are super clean and the kitchen aswell. The location couldn’t be better, directly at the main surf-beach and lots of nice restaurants and bars! I miss you already, Thank you for everything!!😊
