Absolutely love the old features; the staircase, doors and decor in the entrance area. The location was amazing, especially for New Years Eve, couldn’t have been closer to the action! Glad I chose this place and not a large, boring hotel chain. Staff were always very helpful and friendly, even with my poor attempts at Spanish.

The only thing I didn’t like was the smell in the bathroom. I’m sure this is not the fault of the hotel and is a larger issue with drainage in the city, but it’s such a shame as everything else is great here. Maybe an air freshener in the bathroom would help a bit.

The welcome from and friendliness of the staff was so lovely - always smiling and happy to help. The room was compact, as was the bathroom, but clean, modern and well equipped - think IKEA. Shutters on the french windows ensured that I was not woken by the morning sun. The fridge and kettle were welcome additions. USB ports on one of the sockets were a bonus. Location is ideal being on a quiet street and a 2- 3 minute walk to Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol. Remember, it is a hostal, so do not arrive expecting a luxurious room but it is comfortable and ticked all the boxes for me. I loved everything about it and would definitely stay here again.

Excellent location, just 2 minutes away from Puerta del Sol and all the main attractions. Even though the hostel is located in busy city centre, the room was quiet enough. The room and the bathroom were clean. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was a/c in the room which was great as the room was a bit small and warm.

The room was a bit basic for the price, but I guess you are paying for the central location. There was one double bed and one single bed in the room, not really ideal when you're travelling with your friend and expect the same bed size for both.

I had a single room that was tiny, and really well designed. It had everything you could need. From air conditioning to heating in a small space. I have stayed in 4 star hotels with less good facilities and (definitely) less friendly staff. Every detail had been thought through including bed side lights, mini fridge and charging points for phones etc. Really impressive and I would definitely stay again. Also clever use of fake plants on the wall to give it extra character. This room was great vfm in a fantastic location in the centre of Madrid.

It’s a tiny room and the view is of the washing on their washing lines. Upside is that it is quiet. Sound proofing between rooms is not great, but at this price it’s a quibble.

Great location next to Plaza Mayor, We got everywhere by foot. The room and bathroom were as expected very small, but clean and actually really ok for a couple on a citybreak. The staff was friendly and helpfull. Across the street there´s a cafe where you can have tasty spanish breakfast. Also next door there´s a nonstop mini market where you can buy whatever one might need.

Have to jump over the toilet to access the shower but everything fit in a small space so it is smart. Maybe also upgrade the pillows eventually.

Excellent location and value for money in the centre of Madrid. It was spotlessly clean, quiet at night and the bed was very comfortable. It wasn't luxury, but for our budget it was ideal. Also nice to have a fridge and kettle too.

Be aware that the rooms and bathrooms are quite small and cramped - it wasn't a problem for us, but people of larger build may struggle.

the hotel is brand new, the location allows to walk to the main attractions and is 2’ from SOL metro station. The building is quiet. Our room was equipped with kettle (tea, coffee, sugar etc) and refrigerator. The stairs are charming.

Everything was ok to us, just be aware that the bathroom is rather small, at least in our room. So if you are oversize maybe notify la reception.

The staff was fine but they were more like managers than hosts. The location is right in the middle of everything. Everything seemed new and clean.

For the love of god, please label your keys! I had to try each of the three doors several times because they all look about the same. The walls are pretty thin and the floors create echoes.

The walls are quite thin, so you can hear (loud) conversation from the neighbours at night if they're not very quiet. Busy area of town so don't go there to have absolute quiet and rest.
