Great location opposite the market (you have to try the food it's amazing), also right in the centre of the city and just off the main bus routes. Comfortable, clean room with everything you need including a mini fridge, kettle and cups (great addition as most places don't have one), lovely big shower and a decent hair dryer. You can store your luggage for free in the hostel reception. Friendly staff, easy check in. There is a supermarket and bakery a minutes walk away in either direction, handy for getting supplies.

The building has two side the hostel and the suites which we stayed in. We arrived before check-in and were able to leave bags while we had lunch. Our room was great, a double bed and sofa bed. Plenty of room for 3 adults. Nice to have some cooking facilities (kettle, toaster) and a fridge for drinks etc. We also had a small balcony which is really useful for drying swimwear. Hairdryer in the bathroom was bonus. The location is amazing just off the main road where the airport bus stops, a few mins walk from there do easy even with cases. Also, it's right opposite the market where you can get the most amazing food. Staff were really friendly and helpful. Luggage store a bit bonus.

Great central location right in the centre of town. If coming from the airport, get the train rather than the bus. We took the bus which was €4 each but the train is faster and cheaper (4 stops only!) for €2.30. it's a short walk from the train station. All the staff were super friendly and answered all our questions about the local area. We had a triple room which was spacious and light but because it's at the top of the building with only sky light window, there is no view of the market area opposite. There was a useful small fridge in the room and the shower was lovely and hot/powerful. There's a kitchen in the hostel next door we could use but didn't need to. My teenage daughters joined the €10 pub/club tour organised by the hostel and loved it! We also enjoyed the free Sangria every night!!! A great place to stay and would highly recommend!

The door to our room had a very small gap at the top which meant it wasn't very well sound proofed. We could hear the people in the room next door which was generally fine because we couldn't understand what they were saying but it did disturb us a bit when they left at 6am!

The location is superb and the little rooftop at The Lights Hostel is decent. I arrived early and my room was ready before the allocated check-in time which was amazing. My "Suites" room was spacious, comfortable and clean.

I had a little trouble finding the entrance but that's probably more my fault than the Hostel's. I wasn't a fan of the card payment minimum of €10 when I only wanted to buy a drink. I understand why that's done but it can be a slight annoyance for the customer.

Balcony was lovely, room was clean, shower and bathroom was great. AC really helped at night in the heat. Staff were lovely

Bed was very squeaky, hard to get to sleep. Little pricey when compared to a hotel. More guidance on how to find reception before arrival would have been nice. Safe in the room would have be ideal

The windows opened to a beautiful view down over the Ataranza Market and I could sometimes hear strolling musicians. The air conditioning was divine, the room spacious and clean with attractive modern decor style. The bathroom and shower modern and clean. I could easily walk all over the old quarter and I did. Also there was a lift.

The walls were thin so I could hear neighbors and they could presumably hear me. The worst thing is I needed to do work but the "desk" was merely a table with an uncomfortable plastic chair much too low to properly type on a keyboard.

awesome location, new and modern apartment

we tred to check in 10min before official check in, guy working at reception didnt wanted to start with passports claiming it will take minute, and made us wait..at 14:27 girl went into building to check and clean apartment…finally after around 14:40 check in started and this was slowest person ever working on pc(should at least learn to use tab button on keyboard)…so we managed to get in apartment around 3pm…

Good space to chill out for an evening between travel days. Staff were friendly and got me settled in quickly and easily. There's a table and bar leaners in a separate room of the attached hostel for working even after check out. Close to the Metro for getting to the train and bus station, or its not much of a walk either.

Sound isolation between the rooms and also to the outside world isn't great.

Fantastic location on edge of old town and right opposite the market. Room was comfortable and clean. Appreciated the fridge and good A/C. Room had been recently renovated. Staff super helpful at hostel next door. Good wifi. We liked it so much, we asked to stay an extra night :)

Nothing! Suites adjoin a hostel but we had no extra noise and, unlike some other reviews, had seamless check in. Only minor complaint would be slow draining shower and some water noise from shower/toilet in room above. Minor though and didn't bother us

Huge apartment for Malaga nicely decorated. Amazing bathroom with a fantastic shower. Bed was so awesome too!!! Staff was kind and helpful. They provide a discount parking ticket if necessary which saves a lot on the current rate! This is by far the best apartment I have stayed in Malaga and will be from now my top pick. It is fully equipped if you want to cook although I didn't need to as bars and restaurants are close-by.
