Our room had a private balcony with magnificent views over the city of Málaga towards the post and the Mediterranean. We made good use of the hotel swimming pool which was a matter of a few meters from our room. The evening dining experience overlooking the city was wonderful with great service and excellent food. We had returned our hire car so, during our stay, we were restricted to using public transport. The buses to the city centre were frequent and timely. However, the walk from the nearest bus stop to the hotel at the top of the hill was a steep trek in the hot August sun. We did that only once, preferring to take a taxi from the taxi rank on the other side of the road from the bus stop. At a cost of only 5 euros, it was a bargain.

Having had breakfast after our first night, we decided that it was not good value with little variety and small portions on offer. The next morning we found a café-bar at the bottom of the hill near the bus stops which did good breakfast fare and good coffee for very little money.

The staff were so friendly and nice. They were really amazing. The views are beautiful. The restaurant had delicious food. They have a fantastic deal where you can get €8 per day for using in the restaurant if you don't have your room cleaned that day. The hotel itself is also gorgeous with beautiful mosaics scattered around everywhere. Breakfast was good. We loved the honesty mini bar too as it was very convenient to be able to grab a drink whenever we needed. We were happy the pool was open outside of peak season as it was warm. The overall vibe of the hotel was very relaxed. We loved it.

When we did get our room cleaned, they didn't do a full flip like was needed and both times forgot to stock hygienic products. We wish the restaurant had a little more choice, we would have eaten there more often if it did. Breakfast choice was a bit constrained so you could get tired of eating the same food.

We had a wonderful stay a Villa Guadalupe! The staff was amazing, from greeting us with a warm smile at almost midnight after a delayed flight, to checking us out the night before so we didn't have to worry about it at 4am on the morning of our departure. Every staff member we encountered was kind and friendly, and we enjoyed all our conversations with them. The views from this hotel are incredible! Our room was amazing! My husband and I had a fabulous oversized queen bed on the main floor, and our 15 year old had the loft all to himself with a porthole window and an incredible view overlooking the city and sea! The food was delicious! We had breakfast included in our stay and told them the day before what time we'd be down and which breakfast option we wanted (there are 3 options to choose from). Within 5 minutes of sitting down, our breakfast was being served. We had dinner two of the nights, and it was incredible both nights! The view from the restaurant overlooks the city and sea as well. We had an incredible stay here and would definitely recommend it to anyone looking for a quiet place, with an amazing view and fabulous staff! Thank you, Hotel Villa Guadalupe, for your incredible hospitality!

The only thing I didn't like was that we couldn't stay longer.

The view from our room was absolutely stunning - it was very nice to get a room with a terrace. The hotel, in general, is a bit outdated but it is spotless. The staff is super friendly and welcoming, with an excellent level of English (and that is very rare in Spain). The hotel area is quiet, there were very well-behaved guests during our stay. The pool is a cherry on top - not so big but very pleasant, with a stunning view. If you want to relax, that is the place to go cause it's quiet and chilled.

There was a huge bug in our room, visiting almost every night but I have to emphasize that it had nothing to do with the cleanliness. Rather with the hot weather and maybe the hole in the wall for cables. The breakfast wasn't worth the price.

Family run hotel on top of a hill, further away from the chaos of the city. It was our last day of holidays, and it was great to be at such a comfortable and calm place. The staff was really friendly and welcoming - they even made an effort at speaking Portuguese! Breakfast was very robust, with 3 options available to order the day before. We also spent some time by the pool - a few leisure chairs, some in the shade and some in the sun, to suit each person's desires.

We stayed in the triple room, which had one king size bed and two single beds on a higher floor. Just to be aware: the top floor is attic-like, so it is more appropriate for children than adults. The stairs to the top floor are steep.

We extended our stay not once but twice and ended up staying one week. One of the better places Ive had the pleasure of staying. That says a lot as I travel for work. First of all the view is magnificent and the owners/staff very attentive and nice. Rooms are nice and clean, we stayed in two separate rooms and both were good. We had dinner at the restaurant and that is something no one should miss. Breakfast is nice to have at the location as there are no nearby stores in walking distance. Pool area is superb and everywhere you are the views are fantastic.

Ideally a little bit larger refrigerator in room would be nice, in order to store some drinks and nutrition.

The staff were very friendly and went out of their way to make our stay very enjoyable. We loved that the hotel was about a 20minute car journey into the centre of Malaga, but the hotel was up in the hillside so it was so peaceful, with beautiful views looking out over the city from the Restaurant and Pool.

Breakfast was lovely but for a weeks stay a little bit more variety might have been nice from the choices. A very minor point!

Set on a hill, 4 miles from the city centre the view is superb overlooking Malaga. Peaceful. Definitely would need a car to visit here (at the top of steep hill so either would need taxis or own transport (private parking at the hotel easy). Felt safe throughout. Staff were always friendly, polite & helpful. Stayed with my daughter in a family room - which was great. The hotel though would be ideal for romatic get away.

Breakfast was choice of 3 (all looked nice) but only started at 8am - therefore as we had to leave to get our flight earlier we missed out on this on the second day.

The hotel is in a stunning location overlooking Malaga and its southern coastline. It is a little tricky to get to up a steep climb. The hotel is as much a restaurant as a hotel. It has a large outside patio and a large dining room with floor to ceiling windows highlighting the view. The rooms are adequate, modest sized but with reasonable facilities. Our room also had a large balcony that would have been glorious when the weather is warmer. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Breakfast is a bit prescriptive but generous and of good quality.

At some stage the rooms will need upgrading but it was no problem and did not offset the glorious location.

It did not have a commercial feel about it. It felt like I was visiting family or friends than a hotel stay. The food from Amador restaurant was exceptional.

It’s location is not central to Malaga and it is at the top of a hill therefore a car is imperative. However on the plus side the views were amazing particularly at night and it was good to come back to peace and quiet after the busy bustle of the city/town.
