Location was great. We really loved the room.

We paid cash at the reception desk in 100 and 50 euro bills for the full stay. The lady was very honest because the next day she said I had given her too much because 2 - 50 euro bills had stuck together and she refunded one to me. Only problem was that at the end of our stay, the hostal billed my credit card at Booking . Com. for the full amount of the stay. I was charged a late payment and interest fee from Bank of America Visa plus the almost 900 euros we had paid in cash on the first day we stayed. I hope it was an error on their part and the fraud division is looking into it. Fortunately, we saved the payment receipt which was sent to Bank of America.

Fabulous location with the room overlooking balcon de europe. Check in very easy with friendly receptionist. Lovely and clean. Kettle and cups was provided after we requested it. We didnt have opportunity to try the restaurant as it was closed season.

We were enjoying watching a pigeon family feeding a baby pigeon in a hole in a tree outside our bedroom window for the first few days, however the third morning we were horrified to see someone up the tree stuffing up the hole with polystyrene and presume the baby pigeon had been removed. We dont know what happened to the baby but presumably it was destroyed? All the knot holes in the trees were being filled in this way. Im no sure if this activitity had been sanctioned by the hotel or the local authorities but it was very unpleasant to witness this. We understand pigeons can be a potential pest but a more humane way of dealing with this could surely be found without destroying nests.

We stayed here for 1 night. Our room was clean, quiet, and comfortable. The staff was great. Breakfast was a typical plentiful buffet.

As of early April, there is construction, limiting some access to facilities. Iit did hamper our visit.

The location of the hotel is excellent close to all amenities, our room was clean but a bit dark due to the fact that the sun did not shine on that side of the hotel. Breakfast was first class and excellent value for money Would we go back? yes definitely! in fact we are planning for October.

The room it was dark as the sun did not shine on that side of the hotel at all. We did request a sea view but there were none available. However the room was adequate for our needs.

The location was amazing, right at the Balcón de Europa, close to all restaurants/bars/markets. The hotel was located between two beaches and was a 20 minute walk to Playa Carabeillo. The hotel told us about where we could find free car parking on the street about a 10 minute walk away, there is an underground car park very close to hotel but was expensive to park all day. The room had a great view of the Balcon de Europa from the small balcony and the room was very clean with a large bottle of water provided on arrival. We stayed for three nights and the sheets were changed and fresh towels given during the stay. There was great security as you needed your key card to access the room floors. The shower was large with two shower heads with good water pressure. There was black out shutters on the windows, unsure if there was air con as we didn’t need in April.

Due to central location, we did hear some late night street noise from holiday goers. The balcony was small and fully enclosed with steel bars (but didnt obstruct the view at all or bother us)

Nerja itself is an absolute jewel of a resort, far more traditional then you will find west of Malaga and with beautiful coves and a lovely town centre. This hotel is positioned right on the Balcon De Europa which is unbelievable at the reasonable price. Pay the extra for a sea view room as we did and you will feel as though you are in 4 star luxury ... set your alarm for the sunrise and watch from your bed ....beautiful, thank you so much. Restaurant below does a special and reasonable deal for breakfast, rooms were decorated beautifully ..... we actually came back again at the end of our holiday for a special last night ... thank you so much x Oh and the ice cream bar nearest is open till about 1am just to add to this perfect stay :-

Nothing, it was perfect.

As a solo traveller I was not expecting an upgrade, but instead of a double room I got a two bed, two bath apartment, with lovely views of the Balcon, in the best location in Nerja. I have stayed here before and the food is very good, also. I like the side door which saves having to go through the restaurant every time you want to come and go. There was a big lounge with TV and huge sofa, good double glazing and every room air conditioning which didn't go out with the lights like some hotels. I was also given a complimentary drink on arrival with olives.

Only one thing was wrong with this stay, at 1.15am a very bright light came on in the "air-shaft" outside the smaller back bedroom, bright as day, and then went off at about 6am, plunging the room into pitch darkness.

We paid for breakfast but it had all been cooked together early so the eggs were overcooked so not enjoyable but a good breakfast selection The photos on the room description when selecting are not a true reflection. They show views of the sea and Balcón however the city views may be down the alleyway so not a good view

Location as right in the heart of Nerja on the Balcon and by the San Salvador church. I’m a regular visitor to Nerja and I really enjoy staying in the Marrisal and always manage to accommodate my request for the same room. Good value for money. Great staff!

I’m happy with the facilities which the price reflects. It’s basic but it suits me. It can be noisy during the summer but you’re in the heart of Nerja and able to experience the wonderful vibe and enjoy the stunning views from your balcony.
