Amazing accommodation, we definitely enjoyed our stay! It has a perfect location. It's close to the centre, however, it is in a quite quiet street. The room was spacious and clear. The juliet balcony was very lovely and we had a nice view on the sunset. We asked for a kettle to be in the room and the staff arranged that. They also explained how it is with parking in the city and directed us where to leave our car. I loved the nice touch at the end of our stay where they left a hand written thank you note and sweets. I'd definitely come back if I stay in Santiago!

Beautiful small hotel just outside old town. Staff are amazing and nothing too much trouble. The continental breakfast will not disappoint at 9 euros. Staff made us coffees on request at any time of the day or night. Would be nice to have a small bar area.

As with many of the hotels etc. in Santiago parking is difficult and a nearby public parking lot cost 15 euros per day. It was within easy walking distance to hotel once car was parked. Just a small inconvenience.

Second stay in this delightful small hotel. Great location a few minutes walk from the cathedral but in a generally quiet area. The staff are wonderful 😊 and are always willing to help. Breakfasts are fresh and plentiful and a good start to the day. We stayed in the attic room at the top of the building. It had a nice sofa area to relax in though you have to watch your head with the beams! The hotel has been very sensitively restored with lots of use of beautiful wood giving a very warm and cosy feel in the winter. We have stayed in other hotels in Santiago but this is by far our favourite. And we will be back.

Lighting in the attic room could be better and more power points to charge devices would be welcome. There can be external noise at the weekend…. it was still noisy at 4:30am which can disturb sleep. Not the fault of the hotel of course.

Hotel Altair is a small but very comfortable hotel within a short walk of all the attractions in Santiago. The car parking was a few minutes drive away but excellent and secure. The receptionist explained how to get to it very well and it cost 15.85 euros for 24 hours. Breakfast was excellent with everything to suit the majority plus a selection of home made jams to go with the rustic bread or croissants. We would definately recommend this hotel.

Absolutely nothing.

Stylish and very comfortable hotel. Great location

The staff we encountered were quite variable - one was absolutely brilliant, went out of her way to help us with our booking when our plans changed. Whereas another was actually quite rude to us when we asked for more water (which we were told was provided for free), asking how we had drunk the water we had been given 8 hours earlier (!) - this was really strange for a hotel that feels really smart and like it has hospitality right

Cosy like a B&B but with hotel services: 24hrs reception, ample time slot for having breakfast (which is delicious, BTW), laundry. The lobby is small but and so is the breakfast room, but although the hotel was fully book, they were never crowded. The location is perfect, within the old city center but just outside the most touristic places. The staff is super nice. Soft bed linen and soft, thick towels.

Lights in the room and the bathroom are very gloomy. Also, my room was in the attic and although the view out of the rooftop windows was lovely, there was little daylight coming in. No full size mirror in the room.

The location is a short walk from the Cathedral de Santiago de Compostella which is great (especially for those finishing the camino) The hotel is well kept - a nice combination of stone walls, .wooden/iron staircase as you enter the building. The hotel is quite compact with a combined dining area and a lounge downstairs. My son rang the hotel to ask the staff to leave a bottle of champagne with a card and nibbles in our room as a surprise, which they were more than happy to do. The breakfast is great value for €9. Lots of choice (meat, cheeses, rustic bread, croisants, cereal, fruit, Santiago cake, yoghurt, fresh orange juice, coffee/teas. We were on the 3rd floor and we could see over the roof tops taking in the hills and fields of Galicia. Would recommend for a weekend or more.

The hair dryer in the room was not great. I was given a new one when I mentioned it.

Interesting, modern, small hotel close to the centre (main attractions only a few paces away). Spotlessly clean, quirky designer hotel housed in a smallish corner plot. You have to roll with limitations on space e.g. headroom in the rooms, and enjoy it for what it is - a great experience. Reception area full of interesting books and decor. Excellent breakfast and lovely friendly staff. Given that it's in central Santiago, parking would be too much to ask but large municipal car parks are c. 10 minutes walk away so no problem.

Nothing really - a nice and apt way to stay in an historic city.

First and foremost, the staff were very personable, extremely helpful, and clearly enjoyed what they did; they made my stay exceptional. [They were flexible and were able to change my two-night stay into a five-night stay.] The location was terrific, and the rooms were a decent size with the right balance of old world charm and modern amenities. The breakfast was excellent; delicious, well-presented, and with a wide range of choices. [The hotel quickly became my home away from home during my awesome stay in Santiago de Compostela/Galicia.] I would definitely stay at this hotel during my next visit to Santiago de Compostela! Moitas grazas!

Absolutely lovely staff - really really nice. Room very unique. Conveniently located without being too touristy

Extremely minor point but wasn’t clear that towels weren’t changed automatically, so our towels were only changed once during our stay after we left them on the floor to make it clear. VERY minor and I’m sure they would have given us fresh towels had we asked!
