El Mudayyan

The ‘no entry’ sign at the beginning of the street (Nuevo) is for everyone except buses, taxis, and guests staying at the Hotel Muyyadan: you. Consequently, the street is quiet. When you enter Nuevo, drive 50 meters to the hotel entrance where the receptionist will hand you a parking slip so you can park for 5 or 10 minutes on the sidewalk just around the corner while you transfer your luggage to the hotel. We requested a quiet room. Room 504 faces an inner courtyard and looks directly onto one of the important historical towers built in Teruel. Worth a visit! Our superior double room was spacious, absolutely quiet with a large, comfortable bed, a desk, a stand for one suitcase, and a closet. The attractive and unique sink at the entrance to the bathroom appears to be carved out of stone. Frosted glass separates the shower/toilet to keep humidity out of the bedroom. A breakfast buffet is available for 9 Euro, however, we opted for coffee and a croissant for 2.50. Our hostess Maria’s tour of the underground secret tunnel that runs between the hotel and the cathedral was delightfully entertaining. Many thanks for that! A Carrefour Express is just around the corner. Beyond the Carrefour, we ate dinner at Bar Gregory at an outdoor table watching the sunset.

Good location, lovely buffet breakfast with free Tea & coffee, free car park at the train station NB there are lots of steps from the station to the hotel - but there's a public lift at the side. Very comfortable beds. Great shower. All staff were extremely welcoming. Check out the tunnels under the hotel, fascinating!!

Nothing to improve!

This hotel is just a half block off the Placa de la Primera Piedra, a row of restaurants on a long balcony facing west. The city's attractions and a large parking garage are an easy walk from the hotel. The room was spacious, nicely decorated, clean and the bed comfortable. The AC, television and Wi-Fi all worked properly. The hotel has an unexpected bonus... an old tunnel beneath hotel connects to the church on the next street. The tunnel was build long ago and gave the bishop access from the hotel location to the church. The staff will take you through the tunnel if you ask. They'll also tell you how it was used for eavesdropping on confessions. Apparently, husbands would pay to hear their wives confessions! Breakfast is extra but affordable. 3€ for coffee and a pastry and 9€ for the full buffet. We were happy with the buffet quality although it was nothing special.

Smart modern hotel, comfortable rooms and great bathrooms. Very good central location.

Quite busy with conferences and coach parties the parking is tight via an elevator for car - so SUV ?? also difficult to find- they have video but in the car it is still difficult - suggest you watch video and put pin in google maps as the destination at the pedestrian crossing that you turn off the road to the hotel - google can't cope with the access via pedestrian road.

Our 2nd stay at El Mudayyan, this time in a smaller room. Still excellent, on a par with far more expensive hotels. Only reason not 10 was a small problem with the lighting that was later fixed. Delightful staff. Very good buffet breakfast. Excellent location for old town. Small cafe downstairs. Amazing value for money.

There is parking fairly nearby, free overnight, but one has to climb the beautiful Mudejar steps or walk up a steep road. But it only takes 5 mins if that. Just can be tiring if heavy suitcase so, prepare overnight bag if this is your situation.

I had the feeling that the stuff really tried their best to run the hotel and they liked what they did. All the stuff we met were nice and very helpful all the time. The hotel lies in the center of the city, a few minutes by feet to most of the sights. Maybe two minutes to the central square, 2 minutes to the cathedral, 2 minutes to the mausoleum of the lovers (Amantes de Teruel)... From the location I would say it is perfect. The room in which we stayed was equipped simple, without much comfort. For some days it was perfect for us. The highlight of the hotel is the tunnel to the church what they found when they constructed or refurnished the hotel. It is worth a visit for all people who are not afraid from tiny spaces. The hotel manager was very kind and showed us the tunnel.

The hotel lies in the centre, thus our room was a little bit noisy. Also the door could be isolated better. The bed could be more comfortable and the room in general could be more clean. That's it. Our stay was very nice generally speaking.

Covid times. Side street view, room 103, parking a short distance away 16 euros a day but were able to unload outside. Staff friendly, buffet breakfast excellent, internet good. Comfortable beds and shower pressure with hot water fabulous. Teruel is small so a day and a night would be enough. Main squares offer food and drink options within a few minutes. Note, the city is high, nearly 1000 m, so quite cold in January. Take warm things for evening wander

Parking distance wasn´t so clear. Not an issue for me, but could be with mobility issues. About 6 minute walk, albeit flat. Parking Gloriette

We loved the king size bed, the shower had amazing pressure, the breakfast pastries were fresh and delicious. The secret tunnel visit added to the charm.

We checked in at 2:00 pm, yet the room we were allocated was dirty - beds not done, washroom wasn’t cleaned. However, we were quickly given a clean room with a much, much better view.

Excellent location just a few minutes walk to the centre of the historic old town. Great front desk staff - very personable, professional and efficient. The hotel represents exceptional value for money. Happy to store my bicycle in their downstairs office overnight. Despite all my issues with this hotel I like it - it is quite different, has a great atmosphere and I would stay again. My room was decked out in fairy lights!!

The shower was broken (lying on the floor) and most of the electric sockets in my room didn’t work. In fact everything electrical looked decidedly dodgy!There is little or no soundproofing… I could hear every word of a telephone conversation in the next room. The room really does need to be overhauled - some furniture is falling apart, bedside light is about to collapse, walls are badly marked. A deep clean wouldn’t go a miss!

Super location. A short stroll from the train station. With some of the most amazing buildings right outside. Got a wonderful tour of the underground passage below the hotel that runs under the adjacent church. Well worth taking up the option of joining the free guided (in Spanish) visit to this unique feature.
