Movenpick Hotel Colombo

The room was spacious, and meticulously kept clean and pristine by the staff. It had a great view of the bay. The rooftop bar was also great, had reasonably priced food and drinks. The view of the city skyline from the rooftop was also spectacular. Finally, the staff! From the doormen, the front desk personnel, housekeeping and most especially to the Guest Services Manager DINESH, all of them have been very accommodating and helpful. Dinesh even before we checked in was already making sure our stay will be wonderful. He even had a to-go-breakfast prepared for us when we had to leave early (before breakfast at the restaurant opened) for a Safari Tour at Udawalawe. We felt very well taken cared of during our stay.

We had a difficult time looking for convenience stores near the hotel, were we could buy supplies. But this is not a major issue.

The room was nice, spacious and with a good view it met all expectations. The staff were friendly and helpful. Location of the property is just perfect. The pool side restaurant was well managed and had a super view.

House Keeping was a bit tardy. They removed towels but did not put fresh ones. One day the duvet cover had stains. Had to call them to change it. The breakfast was monotonous, same spread everyday. Had a meal in the Indian restaurant. It was a disaster. Before ordering we enquired if the chef was Indian. We were told, Yes. The food had no flavour just heavily spiced (hot) to the extent that it was inedible. Complained about it to the resturant hostess. She then told us the "Indian chef" was unavailable and was cooked by someone else. During checking-out informed the same. There was no apology or offer to refund all or part of the cost.

Room was perfect for two person and totally love it. But would be nice if the toilet is sound proof. Breakfast buffet was way too expensive and yes they do have varieties yet in the morning I personally don't think people will eat that much for the value of money. Pool was perfect

When toilet is being used the sound and smell is in the room. it a bit disturbing

Spacious room with a very nice view over the Ocean, very comfortable bed, quiet and clean. The rooftop pool is nice.

Not much, just details: - hot tub on the rooftop not working - prices at the rooftop were quite steep - when we asked to arrange for a driver, the quotation they provided was 3x more expensive than standard prices you can find anywhere else

new property , clean , attention to details is impeccable , rooms are modern and perfect balance between function and comfort , ocean view is amazing , staff is fast and attentive to details , value balance is just right

parking spaces are a bit limited to the weekend capacity , jacuzzi on the rooftop button control is malfunctioning, and it’s not using water stream but just air bubbles , definitely need an upgrade . otherwise all is good

Absolutely loved our stay. Housekeeping attendant Iran was an absolute gem. The guys at the rooftop restaurant was super friendly as well. Enjoyed dinner at AYU restaurant.

Guest Services didn't pick up the call first night. Had to try 3 times before they picked up. They transfers the call to other departments for requests as simple as wanting few packets of sugar. The people at the guest services were nice, but would've been much much more convenient if they took simple requests like that. :)

Room was comfortable and spacious. The bathroom with a view of the ocean was particularly engaging. The roof top infinity pool and bar area were a definite highlight. The fitness room was well equipped and modern. Breakfast was actually very good. All things considered, this was an excellent hotel in which to start your Sri Lanka adventure.

The pool requires more loungers for the size of the hotel. With only 3 or 4 beds available, this was insufficient for the number of guests looking to enjoy the space.

The room was great and we had a super cool view to the sea. Everything was clean and it felt comfortable.

I don't like the mix of bar and pool at the roof top, especially there was little space for pool guests. Also the water in the pool was quite cold. In other hotels in this price range it was heated in Sri Lanka. We experienced 8 electricity shutdowns on just 1 afternoon. I don't know if this is a regular issue but was quite annoying for us.

good location, lovely rooftop area with pool and bar. great idea to have the bathtub in the window overlooking the city! really affordable good quality buffet for dinner

the only small negative thing would be the lack of lifts considering the amount of rooms and floors. four small lifts means the wait time is a little long.

Great location for my office, lovely roof top bar and pool. Comfy bed!

It’s not a dislike, I stayed there 3 years ago and was amazed at the wear and tear on the wooden furniture in that time. Its not terrible but it just surprised me to even notice it.
