Staff not as helpful as they could have been. I was early- I was taken to a waiting room up 2/3 flights of glass stairs - no lift- no help with my bag . I didn’t look like a person who wd stay at the grand as I had been travelling and I didn’t look as smart as I could have. Staff seemed suspicious of me!

We stayed 2 weeks. The hotel was very good with extremely helpful personnel at the entrance/reception/dining room . We appreciated especially Gayan (housekeeping) who helped us whenever we needed . He helped always with a nice smile. The breakfast and diner were very good. Even if we wanted to deviate from the standard menu/buffet they accommodated (My wife prefers Sri-lankan food an I European food).

The room only had wardrobes mainly for hanging clothes and not for putting you shirts and other clothes: For a double room, we expected wardrobe with a lay-out for 2 people

The staff at the reception was not professional at all. When I was doing the check-in, they asked for more money, like taxes and VAT, etc. and the price went up a lot more than it says on Booking.com, then I started to calculate the amount with them again; they have included the taxes twice in the breakdown receipt. In the end, they agreed with what I said, and I paid the amount exactly as stated on Booking.com. Surprisingly, when I checked out, they told me again that there is an amount I have not paid and I have to pay it. What a ridiculous staff.

This was our fourth stay at Cinnomon Grand. On our third stay I had to complain about Cheers Bar. On our first night we ate at Cheers Bar and was very disappointed that things have not improved and would not recommend Cheers to anyone. Breakfast was excellent The room was very good

The food in Cheers. I ordered starter and main course. My starter came and in his other hand the waiter had my main meal which I told him to take back as it should not be brought out with the starter. I eat my starter and was brought my main meal of leathery or crisp french fries and a nearly cold and soggy piece of fish. I did complain to the waiter but nothing was made of it. Service in the coffer lounge and the tea room was very slow. The weather

The swimming pool was great - shame so few guests used it. The reception staff were great. The Lagoon restaurant was excellent. The 9th floor executive lounge were very welcoming - the food provided was a little tired.

Breakfast in Plates would have been better if the ordered breakfast was more prompt, I ordered poached eggs and they took so long to come that I had to leave to meet my taxi. I didn't like the hookah bar by the pool - smoking should not be encouraged. The hotel focusses on conferences with the central venue being occupied by mass groups it was irritating to have to walk through the conference to reach the lifts, particularly when my room key stopped working and I had to make the trek backwards and forwards in my swim suit.

Rooms and service for the hotel was excellent. Rooms clean, beds very comfortable and staff very courteous and very helpful going out of their way at times to attend to our needs.

The only blemish during our stay was an extremely poor experience at one of the hotel restaurants -Noodles. Not only was the service extremely slow but by the time we got our entree an hour had passed from when we sat down in the restaurant. We were also informed - after ordering - that crab meat was not available and therefore any menu items with crab meat were not possible. Now this would have been something they should have told us as they handed us the menus. This limited our food options. And our order had to be returned - twice. At this point we walked out. To the hotel’s credit we were contacted shortly thereafter to apologise for our bad experience and offering us two complimentary meals at any hotel restaurant.

Breakfast buffet was to die for and one could spend a day trying to taste bits of everything on the buffet!! The rooms are wonderfully comfortable with little things like an international electrical socket near the bed, great shower water pressure. Housekeeping turndown was great, the little extra touch of a cupcake was loved by me if not my hips Location is perfect for both shopping and walking distance to Galle Face Green for exercise perspective. If its raining the gym also gives you an option - just a warning that bathers are required for the sauna... Reception, housekeeping and the restauraunt staff were all lovely, very welcoming and helpful, as were the security staff at the entrance Thoroughly enjoyed it and look forward to more time there on my next trip

The room is spacious and well taken care of. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I don't like the fact that I have to go to the reception multiple times to "reprogram" my key just to open the door to my room. The magnetic field on the card would get damaged easily no matter how careful you are. One moment, it is working. Next moment, it no longer works. It is frustrating. Really. And when asked, their airport transfer is USD 60++. That's ridiculously expensive. I'm a paying customer of yours. You should give complimentary airport transfer or keep it at a nominal level.

Had Breakfast all days at " PLATES ". Spread is exceptional. It cater to all nationalities/ tastes............Staff is exceptional . During peak times, working under pressure servicing all guests needs and demands .!. Danajali Fernando and Vishaka ............... very professional and handing guests requests always with a "Smile ". Both of them are a great asset to the Hotel !

When the group tours arrive ( 2/ 3 Buses.........Had a delegation from India + NZ / SL Ladies cricket teams ) approach to the hotel get congested and take long time to get in to the hotel and reception area gets crowded. During this period ( which is known to the hotel) senior staff, who is experienced in handling those situations can be used.

We had an amazing stay at Cinnamon Grand! The place is gorgeous, rooms are spacious with great views of the city. The location was perfect to introduce the city to our young son, with most places in Colombo a fun tuk ride away. What really stood out though, was the staff—they were incredibly caring, which made our stay extra special. The food? A foodie's dream! Nuga Gama & Chutneys were two of our favourites. Great location, awesome service, and overall, an unforgettable experience. Thank you & a special thanks to Sanjeewa for exceptional service!
